About this house rental
This urban oasis is a few blocks from the beach, and around the corner from one of the most charming Main Streets in America. Located in the commercial district of Pacific Grove, it’s just steps from shops, galleries, restaurants, cafes, a wine bar and a movie theater. The entry area—with a bistro table and a sofa—is set up like a storefront. The real living areas are behind the door, where you can relax on leather sofas adjoining a lovely kitchen with mocha-colored quartz countertops, stainless appliances, and a breakfast bar that seats four. The master bedroom has a private bath with a walk-in shower; the upstairs bedroom has a peek of the ocean and an en suite powder room. The laundry is in the basement at the bottom of the stairs, and all the delights of Pacific Grove are right outside your front door. You can swim, dive or kayak at Lover's Point right down the street (with a white sand beach for sunning, a kiddie pool, beach volleyball court, and a snack bar, café and restaurant). With grassy areas for picnics and surrey, bike, kayak and paddle board rentals—this park is a favorite of visitors and locals alike. Stroll down the coastal recreation trail to commune with seals and sea otters, or play golf at the ocean side Pacific Grove Golf Course, affectionately known as a budget-minded alternative to Pebble Beach. A short drive will take you to Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, downtown Monterey or Carmel. Within minutes you can be touring scenic 17-Mile Drive, hiking to secluded Big Sur beaches, horseback riding, deep-sea fishing or whale watching. Any questions? Just ask “Alexa.” Street parking and one designated space in the lot across the street. Pacific Grove Transient Use License #419

Nice place, great location, but no hot water! We called and they told us to reset the water heater, it only worked 10% of the time. Not fun taking cold showers!

A fantastic home that is very well updated, in an awesome location right off Lighthouse blvd walking to shops, restaurants and coffee shops. We really enjoyed our stay.

This home was everything we needed, and more. Clean, updated and so convenient to everything in Monterrey and Carmel. A few minutes walk to Lovers Point and so close to all highways. The owners took great care in designing and caring for their home. And it shows. They even made a delightful book with all the attractions and recommendations for every kind of outing one would want. Clear and concise instructions on home maintenance and entry and exit. We highly recommend "ain't life grand" to everyone!

We loved the location of the place. You can see the ocean down the street. A cute/quiet part of town that’s walkable to lots of restaurants, bars, shops and not too far of a walk to the aquarium (30 min walk).

Great location and nice clean place.

Excellent Location. The photos on the site do not do the property justice. Wonderful high ceilings, comfortable beds, lovely sitting porch, across from the quilt shop, excellent full-service grocery just one block over.

This amazing Townhouse tucked away within the shops of Pacific Grove is a must stay. We walked in to a clean, welcoming home away from home. We were able to take in the beauty of the coast and return to the comfort of this home.

We've stayed at this location several times over the years and love it. It's in the perfect location. Shops, restaurants, and supermarkets are all within walking distance. Most importantly (to us), the ocean is just down the street. We've even walked to Fisherman's Warf. The house is always extremely clean with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The rental company is extremely responsive to inquiries and a pleasure to work with. We'll keep coming back and can't wait for our next trip!

Stayed here for a few days and absolutely loved the place! Clean, cozy and amazing location. Can't wait to come back!

Very cute place that fit my family of 4 really nice. Easy to find location and parking was easy. Much better and easier then any hotel stay.

The rental overall is fantastic. Great location and tastefully decorated. Plenty of room for up to 4 people. The kitchen had enough cooking utensils and pans for most things. The only negatives are the beds and blinds in the downstairs room. The beds are probably among the worst we have slept on in a rental and during sunrise light finds the gaps between the pull down shades making it difficult to sleep in past sunrise.

There were 4 of who stayed her to attend the US Women’s Open. The location couldn’t have been better. Grocery store was close by and we walked to dinner each night. The accommodations were very nice, clean and comfortable and up to date. We had everything we needed but some extra towels would have been nice - particularly in the kitchen. We had almost everything we needed but a can opener and when we did find it we had to watch a YouTube video to use it…made for a good laugh all the way around. Would definitely stay here again.

My family of four just stayed here and it was fabulous! The location was perfect and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. We look forward to our next stay at this house. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay! The location was the best part and it was plenty spacious. Furnishings/decor could use some updating, but that may be a personal preference. Window treatments in the upstairs bedroom need replacing. My husband pulled one of the shades down to close it- it wasn’t secured and the bracket fell and bruised his nose. Otherwise, I would recommend.

The house was in a great location to take long walks or jogs with infant.i it was close to restaurants.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Ain't Life Grand. The home was as pictured & described. We didn't have a reason to contact management, everything was seamless from check-in to
checkout. The neighborhood is very quiet & the ocean is in walking distance. We agree that if we are ever back in Pacific Grove we'll consider this place.

Loved this property! Great location, walked to brunch and shops and it was a short drive to the aquarium. The unique space was clean, quiet, had comfy beds and a nice kitchen. Couldn’t have been more pleased!

We enjoyed our stay at Ain't Life Grand. Great location for restaurants and shops. We had an issue with the business for piano and percussion lessons next door. We could hear every note and there were a lot of scales. We had not been made aware of this before booking.
The contact phone number we had for Kyle was not in service and he did not respond to email.

Would rent again

Great place on quiet street. Loved having a parking spot. Son loved having the upstairs to himself. Walk to coffee and other conveniences. Only improvement would be more water pressure in shower.
4.8
Perfect location for walking around. Very clean and comfortable. Called for laundry detergent that was missing and tv that wasn’t working after storms. It was immediately taken care of by property manager that was very nice and responsive. Great stay!

Perfect location in Pacific Grove for a girls weekend. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance as well as walks to the water.
The unit was clean overall but looked like certain areas hadn't been dusted in awhile (kitchen cabinets and oven hood).

Pacific Grove is idyllic and this location is simply unbeatable! It’s urban living done perfectly. We walked to every meal, a movie, shopping, Lovers Point, all day every day. Perfection! Only room for improvement would be to replace the window coverings in the bedrooms with something blackout and mounted outside the frame. Definitely glad we brought eye masks!

Wonderful home and wonderful location. The home was very clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Nestled in downtown Pacific Grove made for an enjoyable stay, walking distance to shops, restaurants and Lover’s Point.

This is our second VRBO in the PG and we had a great time. The location and house was ideal for a family of 4. I think the only drawback would be the bed located upstairs. Any movement and the bed squeaked. We remedied by placing the mattress on the floor (our 2 7 yr olds didn’t mind) 😊. There was the leak in the kitchen ceiling but stopped after the major storm (maintenance was in contact w/ us and we said to come by after we left). The shops were quaint and it was fun to walk through the town.
We would def come back.

The location and description of the property met all expectations.

Great location and perfect for our annual mother daughters trip. There are 4 of us and this fit us perfectly!

We loved our stay here! Perfect for our little family. Great location for our family to walk to restaurants and lovers point! Only thing we wish is that there was a few basic thing like salt, pepper and sugar but understand they were taken out of the house because of Covid. Hopefully they will be able to be put back soon. We’ll come back and stay again!

Great location in the center of town. We were prepared for noise in the alley at night and found it to be quiet. There is a music studio next door and we did hear piano lessons but the sound was muffled (some practice sessions were better than others)

Basically, we stayed in what appeared to br a ‘store front’ except opening the ‘inner’ door revealed a very stylish little two bedroom loft style apartment. It was wonderful!

This house has everything we needed for our brief stay on the Monterey Peninsula. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of seating, parking was easy, and it was close to everything we wanted to do. Would stay again!

This was the perfect spot for our Fall Break excursion to California. The property was clean, comfortable, and adorable. We could walk to the beach, Cannery Row and appreciated the folder with restaurant recs. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant, well-located apartment in central Pacific Grove. Well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, steps to restaurants and a few blocks to Monterey Bay. Convenient parking with reserved space just across the street. Easy check-in.

This was such a perfect place for our family of 4 with 2 small children. Right around the corner from really great local restaurants and boutiques. We also ended up just walking to the Monterey Aquarium which was only a short walk and didn’t have to worry about parking. It is right next to a music lesson shop which we actually really loved listening to the piano and it was quiet by dinner time. Only downfall was that they did not offer a pack n play for liability reasons but we figured it out! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone we know to stay here!
4.8
Easy check in, clean, quiet. Very central for downtown Pacific Grove and the sea. Great easy walk from Lovers Point to Monterey.
4.8
Great place. Clean, comfortable and so close to everything!! Spent days on the beach down the street. Had meals right around the corner. Cute shops throughout downtown. Would definitely stay here again!
4.8
Smooth experience, would return. Nice “book” by owners of sights and eating spots.

This was a lovely property, in a good location. Parking is located across the street, so it was very handy. Beds were relatively comfortable. We couldn't get the A/C to work well, though - so this might be a consideration in warm weather, since it was too noisy to leave the windows open over night (sea gulls squawking and people in alleyway behind). Only one towel per person. Poor water pressure in the shower. Tastefully decorated. No coffee capsules provided for keurig coffee machine, which was strange. Double check your emails/text messages for code for door just before arrival. Our code changed after we were initially sent a code, so we couldn't get into the property. The property manager answered his phone, though, so we were able to get a new code. The person in the room upstairs has to go into the other bedroom (downstairs) to have access to the shower.

We stay here every year. It is the best, for quality and location! Large screen TV, spacious bedrooms, nice kitchen. Just feet away from grocery, French bakery and many restaurants. You can see the bay as you walk out the door, just minutes from heaven.
