Amazing hostel!
If you are looking for a chill and fun hostel in Hakuba definitely stay here! You get amazing value for your money.
The location is Amazing! Is just a couple minutes walk from the slopes and rentals and have a little convenience store in the corner of the street. Also super close to public transport and they offer private shuttles aswell which were super handy.
The installations are great! Super cool chill social area with a pool table, driying room for your boots and ski equipment, very nice kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking, very cosy rooms with super confortable beds, clean nice bathrooms and a super convenient laundry.
The staff was definitely the highlight of the place. They were super accommodating and helpfull. Every single staff member was super friendly and welcoming. They created a super homey environment.
The owner Gavin was great to deal with. Special thanks to AG that went above and beyond to help and also Will, Adam and Andy and for making the stay great!
I can't think of anything I didn't like, I had an amazing experience.

Incredible place, couldn't recommend it anymore. Right by the lift, staff are amazing, rooms are amazing, and vibe down in the chill area is great. Best spot to stay in Hakuba!

Chill environment, all the people who work there are really friendly, you could practically throw a rock at the gondola, facilities to cook up pretty much anything
with the slopes being so close, naturally it’s a bit of a pain to get to the town for atm, groceries

It's expensive for a bunk bed, but the location is amazing in front of tsugaike.

First off, I had no idea there was free breakfast, so that was a pleasant surprise! DIY eggs, bread, cereals, milk, coffee, tea, spreads. Staff is always around so it doesn't get too messy during these times.
There's a chill-out room (with yoga in the mornings), pool table and a bar on premises, so you never actually have to leave; especially when the snow conditions are absolutely shit, you can be entertained somehow. Then they started to enable me by installing the Nintendo Switch xD Because staff also live in the same space, they are really conscientious of cleanliness and resources for what you need; and without formality so it's easy to befriend them.
Drying room is relatively spacious; there is an area to do your waxing.
Depending on the specific room, the dorms can be pretty spacious. It's quite clean with SUPER COMFY beds, and not so rickety going up+down those bunks.
It can be pretty busy here, which at first, can be a bit intimidating if you're solo travelling. But there were many others solo as well, and it was incredibly easy to make new friends. Gavin himself is pretty chill, so his presence maintains a respectable vibe; while some of the others are a bit more wild; meaning you have options for your personality type.
The kitchen is super; they have a huge oven! I'm a long-term traveller so it's nice to not have to cook with a kettle.
They have a cat. Inu-chan is cute but quite a snob xD
Sometimes the common areas (toilet + sinks) can get a bit gross, but if you find the quiet spots, it's actually quite fine.
