Still Waters is a beautiful six-bedroom home located five minutes by water from Hales Ford Bridge in Bedford County with deep water, good swimming, and great bass fishing from the dock.
Access to the lake is from the lower level of the home, with steps leading to the shared dock and floating sun dock. There you will find a covered sitting area, picnic tables, a swing, a paddleboat, and kayaks for your use - as well as cleats to tie up your boat. The boat slips are rented out, so occasionally there may be people parking at the home to access their boats. There is space on the floater to dock one boat. There is electric on the dock.
On the lower level is a 17-seat 1960s-era theater room for watching your favorite shows, movies, and gaming - all in true HD 1080p on a large 10' projection screen. Inputs are provided, so bring your gaming console or other devices. The lower level also offers a full bath and two large bedrooms that each walk out onto private patios. There are ping-pong and air hockey tables on this level, as well as a treadmill and cardio glide.
The main level of this contemporary home offers a well-equipped kitchen with a double oven, an adjoining dining area, and a living room with a TV and plenty of windows providing wonderful views of the water. The two main-level primary suites walk out to their own decks overlooking the lake. One features an antique claw-foot tub and a standalone shower.
The upper level has a game area with an assortment of books, movies, and board games, one full bathroom, and two bedrooms. One bedroom has a TV/DVR/VCR, while the other has a TV and a PlayStation with games.

This was the perfect house to have our family vacation! The home was spacious, had activities for adults and kids. The dock was perfect for everyone to enjoy water time. We had an issue with the refrigerator and maintenance came out immediately and took care of it. The entire experience was outstanding!

Everything. Our second time there. We felt the owner's commitment to giving vacationing families a blessed week.

Have rented this house for 3 years. Peaceful setting and nice dock. Kitchen has everything needed. 2 nice large bedrooms/baths upstairs. Nice deck areas to eat/grill or just sit. New furniture - thank you.

For our family summer vacation this year (12 people), we decided on Smith Mountain Lake as our destination and this house was the perfect way to enjoy the lake! Lots of rooms and entertainment in the house and outside was just as fun! The dock provided a great platform to enjoy the lake and the firepit was perfect for s'mores! Nature was bustling all around with plenty of deer to see and even some otters! This trip was a blast and this house made it so.

Home was clean and well kept up. We enjoyed every little bit of it from the movie theater, entertainment game room too the outdoor toys for the lake. Wonderful location aswell. Peaceful and quiet.

Once again Still Waters was everything we hoped for. There is so much space in the house! We had 4 adults and 7 children. While we did use all the bedrooms, it wasn't necessary. They have added TVs with Roku to the 2 master suites. It wasn't something we needed, but a nice surprise. The Air Hockey, Ping Pong and Foosball tables were great entertainment as well as the movie theater. The kids loved the kayaks and peddle boat. It was everything we've come to expect from previous stays.

Everything was great overall. Spacious home with plenty of room for our clan and lots of things to keep our kids occupied. The movie room was the hit. Be prepared to walk a lot of steps if you’re going to the boat house/water, and it’s a steep backyard so you have to watch the kids playing out back. My only complaint was that we had planned to do some outdoor games on our last day there, and we weren’t notified of any lawn care service. They showed up and mowed and weed eated for a few hours so it put a damper in our plans that day but still had a good time. I just wish we were notified. Also in one of the king bedrooms there was no tv so that was kind of odd. It could also use shower heads in the king bedrooms as well. There are the sprayer straight nozzles so it’s not a super pleasant shower experience. Make sure you have the door code with you at all times because there isn’t a way to unlock and get in the front door without having to put the code in every time. The views are great and the home is very spacious. We enjoyed it and the kids had a ball.

Was a beautiful home with a great location. There are a few things in the home that are not so child friendly but we worked around them. A Christmas tree would have been a nice touch for the holidays

Large rooms, game room, and movie theater with access to Apple movies and others. Also, large stock of CD movies.

Very impressed with this rental home. Very roomy and spacious.

We had a wonderful time at this great property! Clean, roomy, kitchen is well equipped, everything was great!

The house was great and the dock was even better. Had plenty of room to tie up a 24’ boat and 2 jetskis. I would definitely stay here again.

Still Waters looked exactly how it looked on-line. Our family loved the area and made many memories together. Curious as to why a handrail has not been installed on the 100+ steps to the lake. My elderly In-laws were only able to make it down to the lake one time, since there was no handrail. All neighboring houses had handrails. The house was spacious and lovely for family dinners on the deck. Our lake vacation was wonderful!

This is the second-worst property we’ve stayed at in 12 years of coming to SML. We won’t be returning and don’t recommend.
For a house that boasts sleeping 12, only one side-by-side refrigerator/freezer so all our drinks had to go in coolers because we didn’t have enough space for food and drinks.
Not a clean property- needs a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning inside and out. Cobwebs everywhere, including covering main window overlooking lake. Needs a complete renovation- everything old and mismatched and dirty looking… looks like everything came from a thrift store. Beds have body divots where people laid before and no extra blankets available. Shower heads missing from showers so water comes out as a spray.
TVs only have streaming or VHS or BlueRay (in theater room). Fire hydrant (yes, you read that right) in the middle of the basement- very bizarre.
Grass entirely weeds and wild bushes- fire pit inaccessible. Stairs to dock from house- all 108 of them- sharp stones so you have to wear shoes or walk on the wood edges of the steps. Trees obstruct views of lake.
Life vests smelly and mildewed. Kayaks broken but usable. No lounge chairs to lay in, just two chairs to sit upright.
Woman came to “clean grill” while we were and had to go through the house because you cannot access backyard to do to dock unless you go through basement- no access from main level.
I could go on and on about why I don’t think anyone should ever pay money to stay in this house. These are the main points though.

We had a fun week on SML - swimming and boating and even a bit of fishing. RSI was great, very responsive to any issues we had.
The property is in need of some sprucing up. We think new mattresses in the adult beds and adding a fridge in the basement would help guests have a more enjoyable stay. While it is advertised that there is washer and dryer, the linen service company advised against using the washer due to high mineral levels in the water that could cause discoloration. The boat house is great and we spent every day enjoying the lake. It is a long hike up from the lake, but worth it! Overall we had a great week!

The property was clean and as expected based on listing. We made great memories here. Thank you!

We rented the house to do an extended weekend celebrating our daughter's graduation from Virginia Tech. The house was wonderful and great for our gathering. It has huge rooms that with plenty of space. There were several nooks and corners for personal space in addition to areas for gathering. We especially enjoyed theater and even used it to show slide show of our daughter through the years. It was a hit and a surprise to our daughter. The owners made the house very accommodating with plenty of games and activities (e.g., theater). We spent a lot of time of the awesome dock sunning, swimming, kayaking, paddle-boating and fishing. The path to the dock is extremely steep (127 steps!), but well maintained and designed.
The only complaint is that given the house accommodates 12 people, we expected a 2nd refrigerator in the basement. This was not the case and I had to buy ice everyday to keep drinks cold in our ice chests to make room for food in the 1 refrigerator in the kitchen. Even then, the fridge was packed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already discussing coming back to this house for future family gatherings.

The house was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. The views are gorgeous! We made use of the dock, the game room and especially the theater. Still Waters is a wonderful house, and RSI was a pleasure to work with.

Nine of us came to celebrate my daughter upcoming wedding and we had a wonderful time. We were pleased to see the scriptures throughout the house and pleasantly surprised to see VHS of Donut Man!! Great memories for our family when the children were young . We would certainly will rent again for upcoming celebrations. Worked perfectly since half of us were from Maryland and other half Tennessee!! Accommodations were perfect!! Can’t say enough good things. Thank you so much!!

My husband and I spent two nights at this beautiful home to celebrate our anniversary. Our children and their significant others joined us for another two days. The home was spacious, the view was gorgeous and it was one of the cleanest rentals I’ve ever seen.
We were blessed with wonderful weather which made enjoying my cup of coffee on the deck that much more amazing.
Both the rental company and the homeowners were pleasant and quick to respond whenever I reached out.
We will definitely be back and now our adult kids are plotting a way to buy our very own lake house!

Getting the friend group together in person meant a lot to us all after the last couple years and this was a great venue for it.
In the run-up to the trip, the rental agency was very responsive, but not at all through the app. You need to email them directly to get a response, but through email, they reply almost instantly.
The main level (besides the couple front porch stairs) is pretty open and wheelchair/mobility friendly, especially with three bathrooms on the main floor that are all open enough to allow for transferring. The linen package was well worth it, I think. The beds were premade for us, which was wonderful. There were plenty of towels and a number to call if you needed more. The views are obviously incredible, but the stairs down to the dock are *quite* steep if you want a closer look. They are in great repair and easy enough to navigate, but there's no railing for most of it and a lot of them.
I would absolutely stay here again and my friends have said the same.

We had 5 couples stay in the house over NYE weekend and we absolutely loved the house. Plenty of space with everything we needed.. The gaming area, theatre room and lake views were fantastic. Would stay again!

Couldn’t get enough of the beautiful views offered at nearly every window, and of course from outside. This was our first time at Smith Mountain Lake and we loved it! This house offered loads of space, an awesome game room with air hockey, foosball, and ping pong, and a movie theater! Our family really enjoyed all of the gaming and theater amenities. We also enjoyed the swing on the dock, and the paddle boat. It is a hike just to get down to the dock and fire pit, though! However, I don’t know if we would stay at this property again as the home was lacking when it came to the basics. The sleeping amenities were rough - truly terrible pillows and mattresses. The furniture and decor in general was a hodgepodge, and felt cheap and unconsidered by the owners (but in fairness, the decor was as pictured). We met with family from out of state to celebrate Thanksgiving, and there was some disappointment that there was a large amount of mismatched jam jars and pint glasses to use as glassware, but no wine glasses. There was one dishwasher tab left, had to go buy more. No toiletries - soap, shampoo, etc. - as we’ve had with other rentals. Overall, it was just a bit odd to experience this grand house and beautiful view against the lacking details of the amenities, decor, etc. We appreciated the owners thoughtfulness with gaming, the theater, and water fun, and that made the stay here very worth it!

This property was very nice, clean, instructional packet was informative. Beautiful yard and views. Yes, the steps are a workout, but they are done nicely in a way so that they aren't 'steep'. We enjoyed our girl's trip - this was definitely cheaper than therapy! ;)
4.8
Rented this lake house and it worked out beautifully! The paddle boat and kayaks were amazing! Those stairs will close your exercise rings for sure! The only downfall would be the couches are a bit outdated and shower heads. That is absolutely the only things I could think of that I would change!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!
4.8
We had a great stay - everything was as described.
4.8
This is the third time we rented this house for a family get-together. There is everything you need to have a wonderful time. We will be back again next year.
4.8
The house was as advertised with lots of space, things to do, and great dock. The movie room was a lot of fun!
The trip down the stairs is long and steep which was okay for us but might want to consider that if you have older folks.
4.8
Property was large and had lots to do. Main problem were the stairs that had no railing. Quite the work-out for my 81 year old husband to navigate without help.
4.8
This house has everything you could need including really comfy beds, spacious rooms with great seating, games, multiple levels for different noise groups, and an incredible boating dock. Loved the fully stocked kitchen. Everything about our week was wonderful, including the great memories we made.
4.8
We had a great time at Stillwaters. The house was perfect for our family vacation. So much common space. The game room is such a great addition to the fun. Bedrooms are all big. Really just a great space overall. We had a blast.
4.8
plenty of space for large group, well stocked kitchen , games, and movies . we had 1 member who could not navigate the steps, he would have enjoyed a larger TV in great room
4.8
Second stay here and it was very nice both times. Wish the steps to the lake had railings but overall a wonderful house for a large family get together.
4.8
Exceeded expectations! All was as described but in person, even better... Especially the view! The young adults especially enjoyed the theater and huge movie selection. The game room was enjoyed by multi-generational families... bringing us back to the days of air hockey in the arcades. Very clean and kitchen was well stocked with all our needs for cooking and preparing meals. Do remember to bring trash bags for kitchen trashcan, though. Will save you a trip to get them.
4.8
Kids really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. Loved how spacious and clean the rooms and bathrooms are. Only wish the furniture was more up to date, some of the furniture had little to no cushion left. Some of the toys were outdated.
