The biggest surprise upon checking in at the security booth was the HUGE (Vrbo won’t let me quote the amount) ENTRANCE FEE to the "PARK". I booked and paid ahead of time so I wouldn't have to lay out money while traveling.
I don't believe the listing price is fully clear and transparent because the full Vrbo rate shown to the customer does not represent the TOTAL required by EVERY customer. Our space was essentially a parking spot just wide enough for our camper van. The "Entrance Fee" more than doubled the VRBO rental cost.
I was told by the guard on duty that “this happens all the time with Vrbo and [other rental sites]. Nobody tells you there’s a fee to enter. It’s probably in the fine print somewhere. I apologize for them not making it clear. It happens all the time.”
The listing does not accurately describe that the ENTIRE the facility is considered “the park” and not just the area with special amenities like the pool, tennis court, etc. which I might imagine could have a separate entrance fee.
The facility is clean and quiet but I would never recommend this renter again.
