I messaged him 5 days before the stay to ask a question with no response. I then messaged again the day before, still no response. I thought it was odd that I didn't get check-in details and it was the day we were going to arrive. I called him and he informed me he "never got the booking" nor "received any messages" despite the fact it was confirmed in 6 months ago. The apartment was no longer available because he was renting it out month-to-month. We were in town for a concert so finding alternate accommodations costed us a LOT of money. Vrbo offered to comp us a one night stay for the last minute cancellation of our two night weekend away.

The property owner cancelled my confirmed reservation because he didn’t receive any notification of my reservation and booked a stay with another person. I was left without a place to stay and ended up paying to stay elsewhere.

Part of a house that has been converted in a first floor studio apartment, closets retrofitted for toilet and shower. The owner thoughtfully stocked fridge/freezer/pantry with some items, plus tempting chocolate! Very responsive owner, excellent communication. WiFi was strong. Not fancy but fine for the price if your needs are basic. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of parking. A few steps in front of the house are rather steep and irregular but that seems typical in Pittsburgh.
