Guest access
We would love to meet you as you arrive to give you the keys. We will show you around the property and answer any questions you may have.
Check-In time is at 3pm, and Check-Out time is at 11am.
There is a concrete and stone road towards the house. If it is raining hard, a normal car may have some difficulty getting up to the house since the slope is somewhat steep. A 4X4 car is recommended. In normal weather road is OK for all cars.
Our property is right off the National Route 230.
We are 12-15 min. away from downtown Turrialba in car.
San Jose is 90 min. away, and San Jose Airport about 2 hours away
We are within an hour or less of most attractions and activities.
Some tour companies in the area offer one-day or longer tours to La Fortuna/Volcán Arenal area.
Turrialba is a nice stop between San Jose Airport and Puerto Viejo.
Same day trip to the beaches is possible. Trip in car is about 3 hours to either Jaco beaches in the Pacific side or Puerto Viejo beaches on the Atlantic side.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
We love long-stays! This is a perfect place to work remotely.
We welcome children of all ages, but we consider this property not suitable for families with toddlers or between the early walking stages to 2 years-old due to the deck’s height. It is the parents’ responsibility to provide supervision to their toddlers at all times. Older children will definitely enjoy their stay here playing in the guava trees, pool, trampoline, soccer field area, basketball court, and running around the extensive property grounds.
Luggage drop-off is available if you get to the area before check in time or have a late departure.
Pool not to be used when there is thunder and lightning. We recommend adult supervision when kids use the pool and trampoline.
Due to our fruit trees, in certain times of the year, flies come into the house, and they can be pesky. We have fly swatters, an organic repellent, and a fan available if needed. Not a big problem, but we prefer to mention it.
Average temperature is in the mid 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so there is no air conditioning. The mountain air and breeze is incredible, although there might be an occasional afternoon where it might feel a little warm inside the bedrooms, but not outside.
There is hot water in the showers but not in the kitchen or bathroom faucets as it is typical in Costa Rica.
Detailed List of Activities in the Area and House Manual, with recommended items to bring and additional information, are available after reservation is confirmed.
As this is an off the beaten path area in Costa Rica, not a lot of local people speak English, but guides and tour companies do. You should be OK ordering at restaurants. We are here to help in any way we can.
Our past guests rave about the beauty, peacefulness, and privacy of our property, its unmatched panoramic views, and about the beauty of this area of Costa Rica. A full week would not be enough to experience all the adventures available in the area!
Come and experience it all yourself!

This home is gorgeous! The kitchen has all the plates, pots, pans, accessories we needed for the final stop in our 10 day trip to Costa Rica. Truly, we were exhausted by the time we arrived to this property, so we only left once for a trip to the botanical garden but it was the perfect way to recharge before we flew home. The lounge chairs and hammocks were so comfortable. There are so many games and things for younger children and we enjoyed roaming the grounds and shooting hoops (playing basketball) with our girls! The indoor and outdoor plants/grounds were especially enjoyable and the view of the towns below was breath taking. The driveway is steep though so I would recommend you have a four wheel drive to make it easier for you to access the home, but don’t let that stop you from checking this place out! It’s spectacular!
