About this bed and breakfast
Perched on a sunny ridge with expansive views to the south, east, and west, this tranquil, quiet haven is close to nature, the city, shopping/dining, and all the Bay Area has to offer.
Surrounded by redwood and fruit trees on our 1/2 acre property, your private, detached guesthouse and doorside parking are located behind a secure, automated gate. 24-hour access via a driveway that leads to parking right by your door.
In alignment with sustainability values, the guesthouse is solar powered, offers EV charging, recycling/composting, and environmentally-friendly cleaning and personal care products.
THE GUESTHOUSE
Located 100' behind our family home, the guesthouse is thoughtfully laid out, with an open, bright, and inviting feel.
The newly-constructed space has a well-equipped kitchen tucked away from the sleeping area. The bathroom has a locking door, shower, and bidet. The living area offers a dedicated workspace with fast Wi-Fi and plenty of comfortable spots to spread out.
Sip coffee and listen to the birds on your private deck with garden view in the morning. Take in the spectacular sunsets from the new redwood pergola at the top of the orchard in the evening.
Cozy up in front of the mood-setting electric fireplace, Netflix and chill in front of the flatscreen TV, which can be pivoted to watch from either of the couches or the bed.
Close the blinds and room darkening curtains and sleep a beautiful night's sleep on high-quality 100% cotton linens.
OUTDOOR SPACE
Step outside to listen to the birds' serenade and enjoy local coffee on your private deck with garden view in the morning.
Wind up the granite cobblestone path through the fruit tree orchard to take in spectacular sunset views over the valley from the pergola at the top of the orchard in the evening.
Note: The orchard and pergola are located behind the guesthouse. While we may sometimes be in this space tending our fruit trees or visiting the pergola, it is often available for your private use since we spend most of our outdoor family time in our own private backyard - which separates and gives space between our house and the guesthouse.

Most delightful, clean, well equipped, bright & cheerful studio apartment on friendly & quiet private property. Adjacent, behind -a -gate parking is an added bonus. The outdoor private patio is perfectly situated to enjoy a sunset cocktail. I lacked for nothing, including a peaceful good nights sleep. 5-Star hosts of a 5-star property.

This is a very well equipped apartment, separated from the main house, with all of the amenities and in a great location for us when visiting relatives.

My fiancé and I booked about a week ahead (basically last minute for us) for a 7-night stay while we toured apartments in the area. We’re moving from Ohio and have never been, so we toured 5-7 different apartments a day. We were exhausted each day, but coming back to this booking was always refreshing! The bed was comfortable, kitchen was useful, shower was amazing, and the hosts’ communication and welcoming gifts were perfect. We had a rental car and using the gated driveway was easy! Just minutes away from a starbucks and chipotle. Good enough for us :)

Just what I needed after my long days of work. It was like home away from home. The zen and decor of the space was perfect! I would have stayed longer but it was booked. Allison was absolutely such a pleasant soul with great accommodations and recommendations for the area. Safe, peaceful, beautiful mornings, evenings and nighttime views! I would definitely return.

We enjoyed our visit at this Castro Valley VRBO. It was a great place to stay and so clean too. The host was wonderful in helping us figure out the area and fun things to do. We hope to come back in the future. We recommend this VRBO.

We really enjoyed our stay, the place is beautifully decorated with very thoughtful touches. They went an extra mile to provide snacks, coffee, milk, quality bath products and everything you may need. The host was very responsive whenever we needed anything and was able to accommodate small requests. It’s located well, close to shops, hiking trails and restaurants and just far enough from San Francisco. Highly recommend this place!
