My favourite spot in Japan. In an excellent location, just a short walk from the Happo Gondola and Sakka lifts, which are perfect for beginners. It's a beautiful guesthouse that serves breakfast, dinner, coffee (and dessert… so good!)
We booked two rooms; one for a couple and one for friends. We had plenty of opportunities to hang out as a group in the common areas. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were warm (with heaters), and the shared facilities were very clean.
The staff were extremely accommodating and spoke excellent English. They served a delicious breakfast before our full day on the slopes and were allergen aware. After the first day, I didn't even have to mention my allergies again; they remembered and brought out a GF meal for me. Can’t fault this place and looking forward to staying next year!

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed 6 nights in Hakuba in three rooms at Guest House Zu-Thones for our 5th trip to Hakuba.
We stayed in tatami mat rooms on futons which we always enjoy. There are also rooms with western beds
The location is just up from Happo-One gondola.
One piece of advice is to make sure you take the path through the trees, avoiding the steep road.
We would recommend getting a taxi on arrival and organising a taxi when leaving as it is a fair walk to the bus terminal.
The shuttle buses for other resorts leave from / stop at the Happo One gondola so this was close by also.
Breakfast was always good with the hot plate varied each day through 3 or 4 options.
There are options in Hakuba with onsens which Is not available here.

The house has a restaurant and the room fee includes breakfast. Dinner is popular and you need to reserve the seats. It's 200 meters from the Adam Gondola(Happo-One) .
The location is hard to find and not easy to access if you arrive with a heavy suitcase. Go with the red flag direction to a narrow pass in Woods and you will find the Bar. The bed mat is too soft, and the quilts are too narrow.

Hyggeligt og roligt sted. Dejlig morgenmad og restaurant på stedet. Tæt på skilift.
Lidt svært at kontrollere varmen på værelset.

We stayed for for three nights in the summer and will be coming back again! The host Shoji did an amazing job and was very funny and welcoming. He went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. He also put on a very nice breakfast everyday. Being a mountain guide he was very knowledgeable about outdoor activities in the area.
The location is perfect and though very close to amenities it feels like you are in a private setting in the woods. Great location for access to Happo Pond and Karamatsu hiking trails.
There was a heatwave during our stay so air conditioning would have been preferred however the fans that were provided made the stay quite comfortable.
