About this house rental
Come relax into nature with water surrounding. while still close to down town! This private 1BR apartment is great for the garden yard, access to Whiskeytown lake & walking trail on the Sacramento River. It's 10 min drive to Whiskeytown beaches and hiking. One mile to coffee shops and downtown Redding & a quick walk to the Sacramento River trail. It is also 10 min drive to Bethel Church (excellent place to stay for conferences or visiting students). Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed. Mini-split heat and AC. Off street driveway parking. ** Just so you have ALL the info… i do live upstairs with housemates. Quiet hours are 11pm-8am. We had a wonderful week here! Close enough to downtown Redding for us to get to see our son play on the Colt 45s, but also right near the river walk, which was a great walk! Accommodations were nice and WiFi strong in the living room but not really in the bedroom. As my husband was working during the week, it was nice to have the little nook in the kitchen area. We would stay here again!

I truly enjoyed my stay. Great property.
My only critique is the lack of an iron and ironing board, and the front door lock can make entrance into the unit challenging at times.

We really only used the place to sleep. The beds were very comfortable & accommodated the 3 people staying there. It was 5 minutes away from relative’s home where we spent all our time so couldn’t ask for a better location Grocery stores conveniently nearby & place not far from downtown. Depending on the time of year, the patio would be a nice place for morning coffee & an evening sitting outdoors with friends & family. I would definitely stay there again when visiting family. It was so nice staying not having to stay in a motel. The host Lysen was very responsive to any questions or issues I had.

The garden easily made this one of the best vacation rentals that we've ever used.

Check in was easy but that was all. Several things were an issue:
1.Tv was not hung like in picture so when sitting on couch, you cannot see the entire screen due to the coffee table. It was sitting on fireplace.
2.The shower is completely closed but without a light. It relies on natural light through a window. So, you are in complete blackness if wanting to take a shower after the sun goes down. We had a long day of travel and were really disappointed to find we had to wait till the am to shower.
3.There are no other toiletries or bathroom items other than soap and shampoo. My wife didn't think to bring a hairdryer these days as most places supply them. After contacting host with that request, he did say he would drop one off but we didn't stay long enough to find out.
4.Not enough towels!
5.Furniture is very sparse in bedroom and there is no where to place suitcases and other items but on the floor. There is ample closet space but our luggage was to wide to fit in closet.
5.No hangers for the stuff we wanted to hang.
6.It was rainy and cold when we arrived. Had trouble getting the room heaters to work initially. Took a very long time to heat room.
7.You can hear everything upstairs! I mean everything! We can tell you what movie the guests upstairs were watching and what conversations they were having. We know where and when they walked around and when they went to the bathroom, etc.
8.Refrigerator was dirty.
9.Couldnt help the rain but since this is an older house, it felt like we were outside the rain was so loud.
10.We also had some weird things happen that scared us a bit. Due to all these things, we decided it best to go somewhere else. We contacted the host and explained everything and he wouldn't give us a refund. Claims it's due to policy. We were reserved for four nights and pleaded for 50% back due to issues. So far, nothing g from host.
