About this apartment rental

The condo is located in Sunset Villas, also known as West End Resort, a quiet safe neighborhood in West End.

The condo is a two bedroom, one bathroom ground floor condo. The condo was renovated in November of 2022 and has all new living room furniture, the most energy efficient AC units available on the island, and kitchen appliances. The inside living area of the condo is square feet plus a 100 square foot balcony. It has a large kitchen, breakfast bar, dining table, and living area all in one big open space. The living room has a large sofa and love seat. The sofa pulls out to a full sized bed. The second bedroom is quite a large room as well and a full bed. The bathroom is accessible from the living room and the bedroom. There is also a washer and dryer. The balcony also has a loveseat, massive ottoman, dining table and chairs, and a gas grill. The enormous master bedroom has a King bed.

The condo also comes with access to the fantastic pools at Sunset Villas which are about a 45 second walk from the condo.

To ensure the property is thoroughly disinfected between rentals, we use alcohol and disinfectant on all feasible surfaces. Sheets, towels, blankets, and couch cushion and pillow covers (when removeable) are washed twice between each rental and dried in the sun or at high temperatures in the dryer. Smaller items that cannot be washed are also put in the sunlight.

According to a scientific study at National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center in Maryland, COVID-19 can only live in humid dark areas for a maximum of 6 hours and in sunlight for a maximum of two minutes. Accordingly, all windows and doors are opened between rentals to allow for fresh humid air and sunlight to enter the property. The cleaning staff wears a mask while in the units and a contactless check-in option is available if guests desire.

Additionally, if you have to cancel your reservation due to COVID-19, your payment will be fully refunded.

The living room has a sofa and love seat and a flat screen TV with DVD and Cable. The balcony also has a hammock and a tables and chairs. The master bedroom has a King bed . The second bedroom is quite large and has a Queen and a Twin. The bathroom is accessible from the living room and the master bedroom. There is also a washer and dryer. The balcony also has a sitting area and a hammock perfect for relaxing with a cold beverage after a long day at the beach.

As part of our rental service, we can arrange for anything and everything you want to do while on the island. We have lived here for over 15 years and know everything about everything on Roatan.

Internet is unlimited high speed (for Honduras!).

We do not include electricity in the rental price. We include an electricity allowance that covers the use of the fans, fridge, and hot water heater. But instead of charging fees for laundry, A/C , extra people, and so forth, it is easier and fairer to charge for electricity instead. We read the meter at check-in and check-out and use the previous month's bill to determine the rate. We found that including electricity in the price made people want to get their money's worth by leaving the A/Cs constantly on at full blast and every light in the place on. Not only is it eco unfriendly, it meant we had to tack on an extra $270 / week to the rental rate.

We are also an eco-friendly and community involved rental property. We do as much as we can to reduce our environmental footprint. We have super energy efficient ACs and hot water heaters. We use all natural, cleaning products when possible; cut down on plastic waste; have recycling and composting available for renters; support local NGOs that work on environmental and coral reef conservation; and provide eco tips and advice for guests while they are on the island. In addition to donations we make, our guests support several island charity groups including animal rescue groups, child development groups, and environmental groups by a small fee added to each rental.

Overall experience was great. However, there should be an understanding that for example, guests coming from the US might have higher expectations on standards that people from other places. We went for a local experience and didn't let small little imperfections bother us. Location was close to everything. Loved Roatan and most importantly people. Host was great on suggestions and communication.

My friends and I took a long weekend to Roatan. We have been to the island several times and just love West End. The condo was perfectly located. It was super cute. We just loved the vibe of the place. It has adorable art and decorations. It was super beachy. Very comfortable. Nice furniture. The manager Caroline was so helpful. I can't say enough. The beach is a short walk away. I definitely recommend it

My family and I had booked another property on Roatan for a month this winter however it sold and we were forced to look for another place last minute. The property manager of that place recommended Caroline and Caribbean Colors Rentals. I am so happy they did. Caroline was so helpful finding a place for us. We ended up having to stay in 3 of her condos because of availibility. However, we found this to be enjoyable. We got to try a variety of locations and places. This condo is very well located. It was clean, comfortable, and well located. It has a well stocked kitchen which I appreciated. The ACs all looked new and cooled very well. There was cable TV with enough English channels to keep my boys entertained and the internet was decent. It wasn't great but it seems that is an island problem. My favorite part was balcony off the front has a table,chairs, Adirondack Chairs, a hammock, and a BBQ! The pool is right next to the condo and the kids really enjoyed it. Caroline was great throughout our stay. She answered every question and went out of her way to make our stay great. I really love all her eco tips and ways to reduce our impact on the precarious island eco-system. The one recommendation I have for people is to bring bug spray. We had a terrible time with sand flies. This is our third trip to the island and we had never had issues before but got bitten a lot our first few days on the beach. The kids and I were covered in bites. My husband did not get a single one. We found some amazing natural bug spray made on island called Andreas Aegis. It worked like a charm.

The spacious apartment is located a couple blocks off the beach and is in a complex known as West End Resort, but shows up on the map as Sunset Villas. We were there in late April / early May and it was very quiet. We had the pool to ourselves, and our boys had a blast. It's a quick walk to the ocean and the strip where numerous restaurants, bars, and shops are located. Half Moon Bay is the best area for protected snorkeling and swimming, and it's a ten-to-fifteen minute walk away. The apartment itself was well equipped. We chose not to use A/C given the small electricity allowance and the fact that we were spending the subsequent week on the mainland with no A/C. We acclimated pretty quickly, although the island turned out to be hotter and more humid than mainland Honduras. As promised, the power did go out, but only for about an hour on a Sunday morning. We hardly watched television, but did turn it on to see what was on -- lots of channels, mostly in Spanish. Internet was intermittent, but did work most of the time, albeit slowly. Occasionally, it would work well, but those times were few and far between. I wish the apartment were better ventilated. There aren't many windows, no screen door, and the kitchen window screen had a hole with a failed patch attempt. The kitchen had plenty of cookware, cutlery, flatware, etc... and the apartment is stocked with 5 gallon water jugs free of charge. Overall, a great value and comfortable place to stay. We come down several times a year to visit our daughter and always rent a place through Caroline who is the best property manager we have come across. My wife and I stayed here for a week before moving to another location on the island. Normally we rent a larger three bedroom from Caroline for our family. But since it was just my wife and myself, she recommended this place and we absolutely loved it. I am even thinking that I might rent it next time we travel with our 4 kids in the place next time we come down. The master bedroom is huge and the second bedroom can easily sleep 3. The kitchen has everything you will need and then some. The pool is also just fantastic. Wouldn't change a thing.

My wife and I decided to go to Roatan to see what all the fuss is about. We brought our two small children with us and were thrilled with the condo. The second bedroom is perfect for kids. It was so much bigger than it looked on the condo. But the best feature was the pool. The kids spent most of the time there allowing my wife and I to relax in the hammock on the balcony. We will definitely be back

This charming condo is more than we hoped it would be. The location is fantastic and the place is fantastic. It is safe, quiet, clean, and comfortable. And much bigger than we were expecting. It is perfect for a family with kids though my husband and I are planning on returning later this year for a romantic getaway.
