We were staying for a wedding, beautiful hotel, old fashioned rooms but bit size and nice bathroom. Pillows not the most comfortable or the beds!
Staff lovely and very helpful, nothing was a trouble when I asked for something.
Beautiful grounds

We requested ground floor room and soya milk. The courtesy call confirmed our request. I rang again to say we didn’t want dinner and at that time, they confirmed ground floor room. Upon arriving, the receptionist looked at our request and said they have no ground floor rooms left . I explained that we both have knee problems and cannot manage the stairs. My friend who accompanied me had had knee injections few days before and her knee pain was worse than me. The receptionist then informed us that there was a disabled room. We explained we were not disabled but that cannot manage too many stairs. She then reassured us that there were only 6/7 steps to the ground floor and the access to spa was across the bridge on that floor. On that information, we accepted the 1st floor , thinking we will slowly manage to climb the 6/7 on the 1st floor. On the 2nd day, heading to the spa, we realised the only way was via 25/30 steps!!!! We went back and went through reception and outside with little rain in our house slippers and bathrob. In the spa, I asked for a latte with soya milk . To my shock ! They did not have any and the staff would not go to get the milk from the restaurant! I eventually had a black coffee with very little soya milk which managed to find. After finishing spa , we tried coming back through the stairs, but my friend had to give up as her knee was in agony . She very reluctantly came through the reception in the pouring rain with her slippers/robe robe

Nice big room although really needs an update. Furniture and decor looking dated. Friendly staff, nice spa, good breakfast and very good value for money compared to newer spa hotels

This a wonderful hotel in a fabulous location. The staff are both professional and attentive, the ambience is warm, elegant and inviting and the spa relaxing and beautiful.
We will definitely be back.

Beautiful grounds, and Spa facilities, (particularly the pool) were excellent. Food available on the terrace outside of the pool.
Evening meal in the restaurant was very nice, but expensive. Food; breakfast lunch, dinner all superbly cooked and presented.
All the staff were very pleasant and attentive.

A lovely setting but the rooms are very tired. We were kept up until 1:30am because the floors above our room creaked so badly and the pillows were hard and flat. No plug points at all near the bed (just one possible option in the entire room) so had to request an extension cord to charge our phones overnight and the decor is dated. Room aside (and thats a biggie given the cost of staying) the setting is absolutely beautiful. Spa could also use some investment but facilities were good enough. We had an incredible massage!

A remarkable building and history, with excellent dining and spa facilities as well as extensive grounds. A very enjoyable stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here to celebrate our special wedding anniversary. All the stafff were welcoming & excellent. Our room (Delude) was super spacious with a 4 poster bed & lovely bedlinen. The spa was great and I had a fantastic treatment with Marilyn. Yes the property is a little tired but the surroundings & staff made it a very special stay nevertheless and we will definitely return. Breakfast was also excellent. The grounds are stunning so highly recommend this hotel for a stay.

Beautiful hotel and spa on even more beautiful grounds. Staff really helpful and go the extra mile especially at reception. Only gripe would be having to sit in the bar to eat from the normal food menu (only £50-£60 per head à la carte available in the main restaurant which we didn’t want).

We had a fantastic stay for my birthday at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa and the team went above and beyond for the special occasion organising a free room upgrade, plus chocolates & a birthday card in the room. We hadn't been for a few years & I had forgotten what a lovely hotel this is, definitely a great choice for a special, luxurious stay & all the staff provide excellent service.

Very rude welcome, lots of inexperienced staff who had no idea, a very arrogant concierge gentleman but a brilliant gentleman serving breakfast. Very very outdated and in need of millions of investment

Whilst the bedrooms could be more stylish they are fine and the bed was very comfortable. The communal areas and gardens are absolutely stunning however and the staff, without exception, were so friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.

Beautiful place, very welcoming, friendly & attentative staff, gorgeous grounds. Great spa facilities were good with big pool. Unfortunately the steam room was out of order. Enjoyed a lovely facial too. Breakfast was good but evening meal halibut was overcooked. Would stay again however.

Lovely room and attentive staff who are always happy to help. Delicious food. Nice grounds to stroll around

A middling country house estate that doesn't quite hit the mark. Rooms could do with a facelift (mould and peeling paint in bathroom, lack of PowerPoints in convenient places, scratched furniture and springy bed). Service was ok, but lacked a luxury touch. The spa facilities were the highlight, but even this was a bit dated. Decided not to spend any further money with food and beverage at the property, instead making the short hop into Marlow.

Overall-great hotel,but I had terrible expeibce:
The bathroom stinks with horrible smell -that we had to ask for "air smell treatment"
The stuff was "un polite " as they ignore my request for our family member's birthday, they simply said "sure" but did Nothing.
The customer relation manager ,whom I talked about this inconvenience promised.me that we get rewarded at dinner (which we didn't plan to have at the hotel) but the dinner turn to anightmare (food in quality of a pub and not returant)
The waiter made a mistake with our bill, charging us 80£more but after we showed him the mistake he made,he simple brought another bill (which was the correct) with no apologize,no "sorry guesture' he act as if nothing was wrong .
The next day, after ANOTHER chat with the stuff, they brought to our room a complementary gift "two small chocolates"(I mean the size of a matchbox) and a bottle of wine (which was even not being cold before ).
The breakfast stuff and quality were the only good thing I can say about our stay.
So to sum up-
Don't come here to celebrate as the stuff will not co-operate.
Don't agree to a room at the ground floor in the north side(by the garbich)
Check your bill very carefully

Beautiful setting, pleasant staff but room was tired with peeling paint on the windows. Bed very comfortable but let down by lack of attention to detail.

Had a really lovely stay at the hotel, staff were great. Grounds are lovely. We didn’t eat at the hotel. The communal areas were all well kept and everything was clean. The spa and pool area was lovely with towels, robes and slippers provided. We stayed in a classic room which was clean and the bed was comfy. A little tired though. Overall a great stay and would stay again. Thanks

Room was lovely and hotel was also lovely. Gardens were great, we really enjoyed walking round them. Spa was nice and pool a great size. Only negative was breakfast arrived a little cold on both days, maybe heating the plates should be considered.
Lunch and evening meals were very good.
We will definitely go back.

We just spent 3 nights at Danesfield House as we were ending our UK trip and waiting for our flight home from Heathrow. This turned out to be the best part of our whole trip! It is an absolutely gorgeous property. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast, and I do mean fabulous, every morning. The view from the restaurant and terrace is breathtaking. Our room was beautiful, and spotless, full of charm, but with modern amenities ( a beautiful bathroom).
If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed
