This place is amazing. The beach is a few steps away down the hill You can swim to a secluded rock beach The pool is a refreshing saltwater luxury The house is spacious well furnished The kitchen is amazingly stocked compared to properties we usually rent We cook at home for most of our trip because we like being together and Doing our own thing. The property managers who checked us were kind and helpful and available. You do need to follow the booking instructions in terms of directions and contacting the property managers prior to arrival There is plenty of parking the property managers handle the garbage for you, which is nice in Italy, which has this very complicated garbage sorting system
I Would love to come back to this property with friends and family

This house was amazing for our family of six. There was more than enough room for all of us, and the outdoor space was so great we spent most of our time soaking up the sun and view from the beautiful pool and multiple sitting areas. The pictures don't do justice to the gorgeous blue sea and views of Etna. The property owner, Nando, was always quick to respond and extremely helpful when we had trouble finding the house on arrival. The host, Gianni and his wife, were so sweet and accommodating during our visit. We didn't want to leave. If you're coming to Catania, do yourself a favor and stay at this house!

Fabulous view and plenty of room as advertised. Vastly unequal options for bedrooms.
Cannot state strongly enough how our stay was negatively affected by an absent UNREACHABLE and uninformative host. No actual address. No information on how to open the gate to the property. No guide to the winding streets within the gated community. No system for checkout - how to leave the house keys and gate opener AFTER using it to exit.
I finally had to call VRBO support from a roadside gas station to get any useful assistance.
It should be noted that communication is only possible by WhatsApp and then still unresponsive.

The house is old and rather poorly maintained. The outdoor area and swimming pool are lovely by the sea and have a view to Etna. The house is located by itself in a closed area, so you need a car to get around. Driving distance to shopping for food is 20 minutes and there are no restaurants within walking distance of the house. Although the Ionian Sea is directly below, it is not possible to swim there due to the lack of a bathing ladder. The host is very friendly and served us a lovely Sicilian dinner one evening.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa! The view and garden are amazing, and although the villa is a bit dated, it’s charming and clean. Gianni and Franca did a fantastic job taking care of the house and helping out when needed. I truly recommend the villa to any large family or group!

We spent 3 weeks here in 2023 at the end of September through mid-October and had the best time. The yard and pool are worth everything!
The house is well located if you want to hit the road, as we often did, but tricky to find initially (save Esso Costa Saracena in your GPS). Great sandwich shop just down the road and main grocery store 10 min away.
Both the owner and the property managers were accessible on WhatsApp and always very helpful, but you'll need your translator app if you don't speak Italian.
We miss Sicily and the house every day!

The property was wonderful. We appreciated the charm and historic feel of the Villa. A rental car is a big advantage but we also found many reliable cab companies. Enjoyed an incredible Sicilian feast prepared by Francesca and her daughter, just wonderful. Patio dinning with the water view and waves was perfect. Thank you.

I rented the villa for a week to celebrate my birthday with a group pf friends.
The house is vast and the rooms can easily accommodate a big group of people.
The outside space is stunning with several little corners that each has a little something of dolce vita - and the vue... unbeatable.
The commodities are a bit old - as expected - but overall the house has everything you need : kitchen is equipped, Wi-Fi works perfectly.
Located a bit outside of the city but still very convenient to travel across the coast.
Would definitely recommend this place !

We spent a week here in October and really lucked out with the weather.
The inside of the house is definitely dated and could do with updating, particularly the bathrooms, but we spent the majority of our time outside by the pool which was perfect!
Being able to walk down and get into the sea was a real bonus too.
The property manager was very helpful. The house is incredibly difficult to find and took us quite a while with the property managers help. The house has no name written on it, there are no road names and Google maps doesn’t take you to the correct place. Could probably benefit with the hosts sharing more detailed directions from Catania before hand.
We had a lovely stay in Sicily over all and the house suited us perfectly and was well located.

The property, while in a nice private neighborhood on the coast, needs a lot of updating. The location is very inconvenient and a little confusing to find. You WILL need a rental car.
The house needs more toiletries: toilet paper, soap, towels, bath mats. Hot water was often an issue, clogged drains.
The outside paint was crumbling and in poor condition. Communication with the host was extremely difficult. The property managers were very nice and met us with keys once we arrived. The language barrier was a bit of an issue.

Das etwas in die Jahre gekommene Objekt hätte eine Auffrischung nötig, vor allem Küche und Badezimmer.
Lage und Pool entschädigen dafür.

The house is very spacious, the views are amazing and the pool is excellent! Aside from this the house is outdated, needs lots of work and the cleanliness was poor. The pictures you see online are from 2014- 8yrs old, so don’t be fooled. Our first night we had the air conditioners going in the bedrooms and the power went out, hence our first night was a little hot. We called Gianni and Francesca the next day who were accommodating and resolved the problem temporarily. We had to turn off a couple electrical breakers for the hot water tanks in order to operate the air conditioners, sacrificed hot water for cool nights. Make sure you bring essentials with you, like toilet paper, dish and laundry soap. The reminder of the week was uneventful and I sure hope that owners correct the pictures online as they were misleading. The value per price paid is not there….

Party of seven stayed at the villa. Large and comfortable. Was very difficult to find. Google maps failed! We loved the place but could use some TLC. Would stay there again. Gated community. Need the gate opener to leave but then leave it in a mailbox at the gate when checking out.

We were 14 people staying in Villa Stella for one week. As described by other reviewers as well, the inside of the rooms could use some work, but trust me, during summer, you’d rather stay outside in the yard which is spectacular.
Great pool, very clean and plenty of chairs & tables for 14+ people to sit.
The biggest downside of our stay was the communication with the property manager. No response to our phone calls or texts only the day before our stay. I had to call support and insist on contacting the owner.
Apart from that, I’d highly recommend this place and would come back anytime.

The house is simply magical with its location on the coast and view of etna and the lovely terrace. With Gianni and his wife we had the adorable hosts who would always come and help if needed. I can highly recommend this place!

Villa Stella is a lovely place and hideaway. It’s a little dated and bathrooms would need an update. But nevertheless it is a great place. Some communications with the owner.
Go for it!

The home has a wonderful layout with a central living space, satellite bedrooms and kitchen area. It is a very traditional Villa and is a wonderful place to stay. It was I little difficult to find at first but once we were there I never wanted to leave. The views are spectacular, the ocean waves crashing on the beach below was relaxing and the location made us feel as safe as if we were in our own home. I would recommend this to any family that is looking to have relaxing downtime with the convenience of a short drive to city life and tourist areas. We were there for the New Year so the pool always not open, but hopefully next time we can go in the summer. The home has everything you need to to start out and there are local stores not far off to get essentials afterwards.

Our family of twelve celebrated a 50th birthday at Villa Stella. What an amazing experience! The highlights for us were: ample and liveable outdoor space, incredible views of Mt. Etna and the sea, and convenient access to the sea for swimming in clean and ideal temperature water. As mentioned by other guests, the villa could use some updates. However, after one day of the views and swimming in the sea, these things didn’t matter. We already want to go back! Thank you Nando, Gianni, and Franca for this magical week.

We stayed June 20-27, 2018. There was 9 adults and 5 children in my family and the villa was spacious. The views of the Ionian Sea and Mt Etna were awesome. The outside grounds were nicely landscaped, plenty and large patios and a swimming pool. The hosts were very nice and made themselves available whenever needed and he would clean and maintain the pool every few days. Overall we enjoyed our stay immensely.

The house is in a gated community off the main road and only 40mins from Catania airport . Top tip get there on the S114 turn right out of Airport , much quieter road then getting on the motor way if you are a bit nervous driving on the other side of the road if coming from the UK. Luigi and Francesca were there to meet us and not far away if you need anything and very helpful . The house is light and spacious and very homley and clean . You will find umbrellas for the pool inside the house by the big fire if not already up and plenty of sun loungers chairs ect. Outside is stunning with great views of the sea and Etna, beautiful big pool, palm trees , BBQ area, we lived outside . You need your gate key to access the sea that is a 2 min walk from the villa . There is a old stone jetty you can dive off and a few days in some steel steps arrived that made it easier to get in the sea . Take diving shoes if you are a swimmer . Sea clear as crystal beautiful, you do need to be abel to swim here as there are no paddling areas. You can swim over to the small beach . For us it was perfect as we love swimming and also very quite . The 5 year old and 80 year Old both swum here . In fact we only visited the local beach once where there was a great beach bar/restaurant where we chose our fish for lunch . We shopped at the local supper market in Lentini has everything . We cooked every night . A great place for a family holiday very quite , pool sea sky and stars magic . Thank you

We're a group of 5 ladies in our 40's and 50's and spent a thoroughly enjoyable 5 nights at Villa Stella in September 2017. The villa is huge and beautiful, but in need of some tlc and we found the family photos all over the house a bit off putting. The views are to die for and the pool fantastic. We enjoyed swimming in the sea just a minutes walk from the villa. Nando and Giovanni could not do enough for us.There is nothing within walking distance so a car is essential.

If you want 5 star luxury don't come here. This villa needs a total refurbishment from the bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen to the outside that needs painting, I don't think it has seen any new paint since 1974!Apart from this the outside spaces and view are unbeatable, and the villa although scruffy does have a rustic charm. The housekeeper's cooked us a meal on the first night which was very good and lots of it although everyone said the food could have been hotter and it was a little rushed but they were nice people. There could have been a welcome pack I. e. milk etc and there was no information on local eateries, things to do etc.All in all a good time but if the weather had been bad I wouldn't fancy stoping in here.

Villa Stella is a truly amazing place - a few steps down to the very clean sea - a pool to relax around with plenty of shade and sun loungers. Views of Etna on a clear day plus sun rise and sunsets make this a magical location. The owner was very helpful and accommodating with local recommendations and quick to respond when we had some minor power-outs.The practical stuff might be of help to some people: kitchen is quite small but there is an outside kitchen too with gas burners and a sort of BBQ grill which is quite tough to use even for the most hardened barbq-er. If you are a chef, take your own knives! Loads of space in general - even with 8 of us (inc 4 teenagers) we were all very comfortable. There is a/c in every bedroom which isn't advertised but very welcome. The villa would have got 5 stars but for the fact that it feels a little unloved - needs painting, needs a few loo seats, grass cutting, trees maintaining. But don't let this put you off - it is a fabulous place to spend some special Sicily time.

The house is enormous, beautiful, and very private. The grounds and expansive views are stunning. It is very private and great for large groups as the house is big enough to spread out fully. The caretakers are very friendly and helpful with recommendations, food resources etc. The bay to which you have access is wonderful for swimming. The location is great, close enough to Catania but private and secluded. The views are stunning. I would definitely come back!
