Our condo was recently upgraded and very clean

We had a wonderful stay at Molokai Shores Resort. The weather in July was so pleasant; the ocean breeze through the open windows felt good.
Sounds of the birds, wind blowing through the palms and children in the pool, was so pleasant and relaxing. Even the wild chickens were well behaved!
There was a full kitchen supplied with cooking utensils, which we used. The grounds of the resort had friendly neighbors and helpful staff.
The place is less than one mile from family-owned grocery stores, food wagons and eating places.
Thank you!

It was okay but a much larger fee than we really wanted to pay, but was the same as other properties in the area.

Nice place for stay

The office is not good at communicating with their customers. The close before the stated office hours, they do not return phone calls and do not follow through on their commitments. The office called me because they claimed expedia did not charge extra fees, even though I was charged more than the rate of the room for cleaning. I relented amd let them charge me an additional fee, as I was already on my island hopping trip and would be unable to book anything so last minute. The office associate verified my email address on file and told me that I would receive a receipt. That was 2 weeks ago. Unresponsive and unreliable describes this hotel and its office workers.

Fun time

I liked how I was contacted prior to checking in about the cleaning fees. Also liked the checking in process. Because of work and my short stay I couldn’t enjoy the property but I remembered from previous stay.
Would love the ability to have a later check out at 11 instead of 10

The cleaning charge that was greater than the hotel cost for a single night stay was astounding. And the fact that the hotel staff called incessantly to make me pay the bill before check in, while I was in the middle of work in a remote area on the island, was highly irritating.
Towels with huge holes in was also an unpleasant surprise.

Please don;'t look at Molokai like some tourist trap. Pristine beaches.....no people. You can fish snorkel, chill out and hang with the locals. Don't be in a hurry. Don't gripe about the wild chickens...they were brought by sailors centuries ago and they BELONG there. You are visiting. If you are just willing to listen to and respect the locals you will truly know the meaning of aloha spirit and ohana. If you want to party like some frat boys choose another island. Molokai Shores was life changing.,,, Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Relaxation. But, not for those who want to party like rock stars.

I didn't like the room selected because it was dirty , filty and dead bugs on the pillow we saw , sorry to say , might not book there again .....

Everything. .. however old, outdated and furniture dirty

Molokai Shores is a gorgeous property and the hospitality of the management is next level. The only thing to note is that the room you receive is not necessarily the room you get - my room was pretty disappointing as the unit was really old and hadn't been maintained well. However, the kindness of Shannon and Charmaine at Castle Molokai Shores more than made up for it. I highly recommend a stay here.

Needs some serious updates. Dishwasher was broken and extra amenities were nonexistent. Pullout bed was not an option even thought it was noted on reservation.

Easy location to town. Clean property. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Dated but comfortable.

I felt the condo we were in needed a little updating 119 but my son was in 220 and it was very nice.

We enjoyed the oceanfront location. The property included nice indoor and outdoor living areas as well a beautiful grounds and swimming pool.
We did not enjoy the checkin process as the office was closed early with no representative to be found for two days. Thankfully our taxi driver ($40) had some ideas to find the keys. We did not have access to the pool or laundry area during this time.

We arrived late and they had a staff on duty to make sure we found apt. and give us the keys. She was informative on places to go eat as most things were closed. A good location and able to explore both directions. The grounds were very well kept. They indicated areas to smoke in which was helpful. I would stay again.

Lovely location, laundry on site nice facilities. Check in at town has very restrictive hours 3-4 and they didn’t give me the required parking permit and no communication before arrival. This is a condo rent so what you get can vary widely I suspect, I was lucky with my appartment.

Getting a little worn out. Great view of the other islands.

room was in a quiet, yet convenient location with respect to the facilities, i.e. laundry room and office.

There is no AC, creepy crawling things. Nothing to do there except a small pool, and a laundromat.

Once again, we booked Castle Shore for our business trip because it's just a wonderful place to be. We like the friendly service and the price of the booking is just right for our budget

BUYER BEWARE!! The property wanted to charge me over $130 for a cleaning fee for a 2 day stay. That equates to over the 30% of my entire trip cost - including airfare.

Very happy that I could book my workers last minute to this hotel. Especially on Memorial Weekend. Love the staff and cleanliness of the place. This is the second time I booked this place for my workers to stay. Plan on booking this place again for our next business trip. .

The grounds and view from the third floor are fine. That's where it ends. Luckily we don't spend a lot of time in the units because we are out and about. Where to begin.
The fan didn't work - note, there's no air conditioning. The lanai slider lock didn't work, so when we first got there on a hot day after hauling all our luggage up three stories (there are no elevators), with two elderly parents, we couldn't get any air into the unit. After a calling and waiting, when the facilities repairman got there, he had to jimmy the slider lock open with a screwdriver. They said they'd repair it - over and over again - but never did. Which led to us not closing it when we were there or gone. We accidentally closed it on the last night with all three of us on the lanai and had to call several numbers before finally the facilities repairman came late that night to rescue us off the lanai on a cool windy evening.
About half the light bulbs we're out. there were no plastic cups to drink from and only three very small glass cups. The very small coffee maker was right out of motel. They don't supply but the bare minimum of old silverware and/or lack just about anything else you might need. There's no beach towels, chairs, ice chest or umbrella. The couch was old and worn out. The TV - it was an old video monitor made into a TV and offered visuals right out of the 1960's.
I could go on and on, but really the best advice is don't go here if you want anything resembling a livable unit.

Great location and grounds. Kitchen utensils and dishes etc could use an update. Condo was nice and clean. Enjoyed our stay.

The outlet in the bathroom seemed out of order, so I could not use a hairdryer in the bathroom, although I used it in the living room. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay.

We had a wonderful two weeks stay here. The grounds are immaculate, the pool perfect and right on the ocean with a little beach. Be prepared though that when the ad says basic amenities and self-catering it really does mean that. For example 2 toiletry samples, 4 towels were supplied for the whole two weeks, 2 knives for a family of four. However, when we went to the office in town to get more supplies they were very helpful and there the next morning. It's just remembering to do this. The apartment was very clean but needing some repair, structurally and to the furniture. Overall though one overlooks these little things, there's a great store, supermarket in town for anything you need, just enjoy the peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings.

it was fine.

What a great place to just relax in beauty and warm weather. Grounds we beautifully maintained. Condo needed some updating, but was clean enough. Residents/renters of condos were very friendly and respectful of quiet hours. We will return.

Room and grounds were amazing. however the tenets of the condos are very noisy and loud. Other than being overall loud, quiet time is from 10pm - 8 am and the tenets are up talking loudly at 5am. Dont plan on much sleep if you stay here.

Every unit in this well-maintained condo community is oriented to have a lovely view of the water. In unit #203, the owners ensured that the kitchen was well-equipped and the furnishings were comfortable. They even provided a self-authored guestbook with their suggestions about things to do while on Moloka'i. Ocean breezes kept the condo at a pleasant temperature, so air conditioning wasn't necessary. Ceiling fans were also provided in the living area and bedroom. The pool was easy to access, and the common area included grills and picnic tables for outdoor meals. Shared laundry facilities were available on-site. The condo community is just over a mile from the quaint town of Kaunakakai, which included all of the necessities (grocery stores, bank/ATM, gas stations, restaurants, bakery, etc.). A perfectly walkable distance, in our opinion.
In short, Moloka'i Shores was a perfect spot for relaxing, and was centrally-located for exploring. The island is an excellent choice if you're most interested in enjoying the views and a leisurely pace. If you require a "tourist strip" of t-shirt shops and themed bars/restaurants, this is NOT the place for you; stay on Maui.
The only small hiccup in an otherwise delightful trip was the over-zealousness of the housekeeper on our day of departure, who knocked on the door just after 8 AM. We had just begun to pack, and asked for a confirmation that check-out time was at 10 AM. She agreed, but returned just an hour later!

The room needs upgrades. There was no curtains in the room so the outside lights were beaming inside the room at night so I couldn't sleep. No air conditioner so you just sit there and sweat. There were notes on the windows DO NOT OPEN so it made it miserable during the day.

Only stayed one night and really enjoyed the friendly vibe . Good location

Great ocean view, however room was not air conditioned and there was minimal to no service provided, especially during the weekend or afterhours. Pool towels not provided and incorrectly informed us that they will be provided. Toiletries not adequately supplied. We were given incorrect password for wifi access.
