This hotel is amazing, check in was quick and easy, Very modern and right in the middle of everything downtown.

Stay was great overall except for a few things. We weren’t given a balcony room, which we had reserved through Hotels.com so we had to move. They were great and we got the best room!
Second, the balcony door didn’t close well on the bottom so cold air was getting in all night.
Lastly, the maintenance people were doing paint touch ups in the hall and there were no signs. I must have brushed against it abs it ruined one of my go-to coats. I was very unhappy.
We’ve stayed here before and love this hotel. The views are amazing and it’s clean, clean, clean. So many spots throughout the hotel to relax.
I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Salem but these few bumps were disappointing.

Hotel was OK. If you want to sleep at night don’t stay here. The traffic noise is extremely loud and does not stop. We were at a college visit and several others were complaining the abut the issue the next day. It is so bad the rooms come with ear plugs. The worst part is we came in about 10 pm. They only have valet parking which was apparently full. The solution. Good luck hope you find a spot somewhere. The hotel staff was fine but there are way better options.

Great new hotel in downtown Salem. Good restaurant/bar, spacious lobby, grab-and-go snacks, nice decor. The staff was terrific, and our room was spacious with big windows and a great bathroom set up. (We stayed in a Deluxe King w/Sitting Area that looked over the garden.) The hotel parking lot was full when we checked-in (on a Saturday), but by the time we drove back from an event, there was one spot left. This is the place to stay in Salem!

I was very impressed with all of the staff in the hotel and restaurant. They were so friendly and professional. Even the housekeepers were exceptional.

Everything was great !

Very nice hotel, clean, large comfortable room. It is downtown so some street noise. Housekeeping was a bit of an issue but we were able to get that resolved. The restaurant/bar on the property was very good. The bartender and bar manager were extremely helpful, offering information about the wineries in the area. Front desk help was accessible and helpful. We opted to self park in a garage a half block away.

The property looks pretty new. Staff seemed friendly, however it was a very unpleasant night dealing with loud noises that would kick on every 10-15 minutes. Would wake us up all through the night, terrible sleep. When mentioned to the staff their reply was almost no concern “We’ll look into that..” cool. I’m not one for reviews, but how they made me feel was that I definitely chose the wrong place to stay.

The facility is beautiful and our room amenities were very comfortable. Unfortunately we did not sleep at all due to a repetitive loud vibrating wall noise that started and stopped 24 hours when the AC turned on and off. I called the front desk and they said they would get maintenance to look into. No follow-up until I asked and the response was it’s unfortunately on the roof but they are trying to address the noise. Never heard back. We were woken up throughout the night with the loud jolting noise starting and stopping.

The hotel is nice and in a prime area. The staff was uninformed about amenities and their own events. Front desk did not know if there was a micro in the room. No one could inform us of the happy hours nor the Wednesday Whiskey day. Housekeeping did not vacuum the room the entire stay. One day, the toilet was not scrubbed. Training issue??? Valet was only option at an additional cost, although I think it was due to limited parking in the area. We upgraded into a corner suite and loved the room and the view of the Riverfront park but the service level was below average for a prime location hotel. One standout, the valet staff was very friendly?

The staff was great and the hotel was really nice. I would highly recommend it. Only thing that they didn't have was self parking but the valet was inexpensive and the parking attendants were fast!

What an amazing experience! I’ve travelled all over the US and this hotel has to be by far the most pleasant and courteous hotel around. EVERYONE was so kind and attentive to our needs. We will definitely plan to stay there again when we return in the future.

We arrived at the property without any knowledge of the area and were relieved at how clean and well kept it was. The staff was kind and friendly with my boys and made our stay very pleasant. Our room was clean and well kept upon arrival and exceeded our expectations. We will likely be staying at The Holman again when visiting Salem.

So good to have a large suite style room when traveling with family.

PROs: Our suite was nice. The kitchen had quality plates and utensils. Two TVs, one facing the bed and one facing the sofa allowed us to view different shows simultaneously. The walk-in shower was spacious and the hanging pumps for the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were helpful. The lobby provided ample seating and had a good coffee/breakfast counter. It was also convenient to have a restaurant adjacent to the lobby.
CONs: There were no dresser drawers in the suite so we hung what we could on hangers, but pretty much had to pull our clothes from our suitcases. The suite could also use a full-length mirror and some wall pictures.
OVERALL: We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would return if we are ever back in the area.

Hotel was fine, parking was not great

One of the best things about the hotel was the valet parking because the men and women who handled it were efficient and very helpful in general. One of my issues with hotel staff the world over is that the staffs often do not know how to direct their patrons to fairly important locations. Sometimes, the problem comes from staff members who commute to the hotel from another city. I understand that problem, but a hotel should include giving directions as part of their training program. I had a very tough time navigating all the one-way streets in Salem and could have used a clear set of directions. The worst part of my stay had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel. Appaarently, the cool thing to do in Salem on a weekend is to remove or modify the muffler on a car and drive around the central business district. I can't imagine what it must be like to eat outside at the many restaurants. The racket goes on at all hours.

nice place, funny you cant get help with your bags. all parking is valet, if all spots in front waiting for valet are full you have to circle the block. Housekeeping great job when they come. They gave us a room key to occupied room by mistake, luckily we didn't walk in on someone changing just saw their clothes in the closet. Great restaurant and staff. not sure would stay again for the price.

The hotel is new and nice accommodations. The staff were okay. You have to use their valet parking as the area seems a little dicey and you don’t want to leave your car in the street. I had a $5 bill in my pocket to give to the valet when leaving, but neither guy so much as made eye contact when we were struggling to put heavy bags in the trunk of the car, so I didn’t tip-they just stood by the hotel door, talking to each other, after giving us the keys.
When we let the front desk person know that the tv reception wasn’t working properly, not getting regular broadcast stations nor the sound syncing with the speaking of the TV programs, she kind of shrugged.
The dinner last night at the adjacent hotel restaurant was inexplicably delayed. Not terribly but the restaurant was nearly empty at 5pm, and it took 20-25 min to get our Cobb salads from the time we ordered, and the waitress failed to check if we needed a drink refill.
Hotel was pretty, near a large city park with great walking trails. I wouldn’t go back however. Not up to Hilton’s standards in terms of customer service.

For this being a new hotel it was pretty sad. Pros..loved the valet parking....bed was comfy....front desk and valets were all friendly and quick. Cons....rooms were dusty, floors dirty, air conditioner wouldn't go below 68, rooms were noisy from street traffic. Only tried it because The Grand was booked. Won't be going back to this one.

Mostly positive experience. I did pay extra in Expedia for 'breakfast buffet'. They didnt have a buffet but a menu service and charged me full price for the meal. I asked about the additional amount I selected in Expedia and they said it would be taken off my bill. It was not. So overall it wasnt alot .. but not thrilled .. so I paid extra in Expedia app for nothing.
