This postcard-pretty cottage set in the heart of historic Windsor may have old bones (circa. 1880), but inside, the home has been lovingly renovated throughout for modern living. Free-flowing, white-washed spaces unite the ground floor. There's a sleek, contemporary kitchen to rustle up lazy brunches and a cosy sitting room with a velvet-clad sofa beckoning you to curl up. While upstairs in the eaves, the two bedrooms are as light-filled and serene as the next. When it’s time to soak up the grandeur of Windsor, the town centre is an easy fifteen-minute amble away for an afternoon mooching about the expensive boutiques, with pitstops at its grand cafes and bars along the way. Or don your glad rags for an afternoon at Windsor Racecourse – you’ll be onto a winner.
