Stay away from this fake listing I arrived to a nightmare property and can’t even express in words the distress that this caused me!

Awesome property with amazing hosts. My wife and I had a great stay at this property. Beautiful scenery, cool creek area to kayak some depending on water levels, wooded trails to walk, friendly goats and chickens (we got to help feed the baby goats which was an unexpected bonus), and overall laid back feel while not being to far from anything.
The host(s) were more than helpful with any questions. Very kind, personable, and down to earth. Even gave us some fresh eggs to eat which are delicious. Definitely the coolest str owners we have had the pleasure or staying with.

Me and my family live in the city and had wanted to spend Christmas outdoors and in nature. The owners were very hospitable so even when it rained and we were kind of cooped up in the house, they came and helped us start a fire. We are very grateful for their hospitality

Victoria was an amazing host. Had the fire pit lit when we arrived, met us at the entrance to property and helped us unload our belongings. When we arrived back the next evening, she had a fresh bundle of kindling for the next fire. Very attentive to all our needs. We were looking for a country setting with a fire pit and that’s what we got. This trip was exactly what we needed. Thank you, Victoria! J,M &T

The cabin faces toward a large part of the property and tree line. It was serene and beautiful. The sun rises on that side of the property and watching it with a hot cup of coffee was epic! The lodging had everything we needed including fresh eggs. It was a great stress relieving weekend. Truly enjoyed the stay. We’ll be back.

Me, my 21 year old daughter and 15 year old daughter had a girls trip. We had the most fun staying at this cabin. It was clean with fresh eggs left for us, as well as, a bottle of wine. Only complaint was the heat. The a/c by the bathroom had tubing that went through the wall and there was a big crack pushing in hot air. We used a paper towel to fill in the crack and that helped. We will definitely be back. So much fun and so many new memories created!

My husband and I were looking for an adventure away from our busy lives. We did a little fishing and relaxed. We went walk downtown and looked at the antique shops. Checked out the state park and did some hiking. We will be back!

We needed someplace to stay before our furniture arrived from our move back East. This was an amazing find with a remote cabin on acres of beautiful grounds to explore and a nearby creek which reminded us of the beautiful rivers/creeks in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Our dog also enjoyed the nature walks and the opportunity to see some farm animals.
When we arrived we were greeted with a bottle of wine at the cabin and farm fresh eggs. The owner, Victoria and her family went out of their way to show pure Texas hospitality by inviting us for dinner and a July 4th celebration. Cindy, the owner's friend started a romantic fire pit for us to enjoy on our last night.
We enjoyed their company but also had plenty of privacy. What was best about this place is that we become friends with the owner and her family and friend, and we are looking forward to seeing them soon.

Let's just address the elephant in the room - the VRBO listing had me feeling sketch but I dove in head first for an adventure with my husband.
We had a fantastic relaxing weekend. It was hot, the river was low and we did not care.
The firepit was lit for us, kept the bugs away at night. The fountain noise outside was charming. The inside of our retreat was charming. Every detail was thought of. When the reviews say everything is provided - they mean that.
If you need to pack anything here is your list:
Sunscreen
Bugspray/Mosquito Protection
Lighter Fluid
Charcoal (if you cook outside)
Food (basic spices are there)
Foil (plates/paper etc are there)
Paper towels - if you use like we do.
Beach towels
Bluetooth Speaker
Leave your worries, stress elsewhere - this place does not need the weight of any negativity. We will be back! Thank you for the retreat!

The location was beautiful and we had a great time at the beach with our dogs. Definitely bring mosquito spray in the spring and summer. We loved the fresh eggs and made a delicious breakfast in the kitchen. If you’re on the taller side watch your head. Over all we really enjoyed the weekend.

Drove in the worst storm possible, but they had everything ready for us regardless, they put out a wagon to help us get all our stuff inside cabin. The cabin was nice and has a extremely warm feel to it. In the morning they had fresh eggs in the fridge we grilled up for a outdoor breakfast. Thought it was wet and muddy but they offered to get the water out of the fire pit so we could still have a bob fire had wood available for us to use. We had canoes we could use a beautiful spot for fishing. We visited Sam Houston park, prison museum, three great restaurants and had an amazing time can’t wait for the next cabin to open up so we can bring our kids. The owner was so nice and respectful of privacy couldn’t ask for better.

Came through the area on business and wanted to enjoy the good weather and find a place with an outdoor space. This spot turned out to be ideal. I didn’t hesitate to hang out and put the big fire pit to use…as there was plenty of wood. The WiFi was strong and worked well and the staff were extremely easy to work with very helpful. Sure makes it easy to recommend!!

I booked this place as a trip for my husband and our sons. I am not a camper but the owner let me know it was more glamping than camping so I decided to stay. The cabin was absolutely beautiful outside and in. As we walked in we were greeted with wine for my husband and I! The owner even had a fire going outside when we arrived and had a bag with stuff for the fire to change the color of the flames, our kids absolutely loved it! There were fresh eggs in the fridge and coffee next to the coffee pot! In the bathroom there was shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and even Qtips! There was a bbq pit outside by a picnic table, the shower had hot water and great water pressure, and the bed was very comfy! Now let's talk about the creek and the beach..the creek was so fun to explore and the beach had the BEST fishing! We caught 30-40 fish in 3 hours. We can't wait to come back. The owner really takes into consideration the details of this place! The only thing I'd suggest is plan to stay longer than one weekend because I promise you won't want to go back to reality after being in this little secret paradise!
