My wife and I can confirm the positive judgment of other guests. The landlord is very friendly and accommodating and responded to our special requests. The big plus of the accommodation is its hillside location in a quiet cul-de-sac in Funchal, with wonderful views of the city and harbor from the terrace. The terrace is on the east side, so it is very hot there in the morning, but in the afternoon and evening you can sit comfortably in the shade (a parasol is also available). The bedrooms are small, but offer enough storage space in wardrobes that you don't have to live out of your suitcase. Everything you need is available in the kitchen, and the living room and dining area is inviting and feels comfortable. If you are traveling with a rental car, you can use the spacious garage for parking. We just wish there was better insect protection. We can recommend the accommodation without reservation.

Joao was a great host. Our flight was late arriving in Madeira, we arrived at Joao's place at 3am. and had no issues accessing the house. Joao had left everything arranged for our late arrival. The property was clean and spacious in nice overall condition, it is well situated on a hill with a nice view overlooking the harbour and the city and also close to a Continent grocery store. The property has a large garage for anyone renting a car. It is a short walk to the center of Funchal, it could be tiring walking back home if you are not much of a walker, but that was not an issue for us since we like to walk. Overall we were happy with our choice and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Funchal.

Spacious house with lovely big terrace only 10 minutes walk from bars, restaurants, supermarket, the old town and tour pick up points. Up a steep hill but worth it for the view over Funchal.

La casa es muy cómoda con una vista hermosa, caluroso debido a la época del año y la localidad, sin embargo un lugar muy acogedor para quedarse y disfrutar de la isla, recomendado para quien desee alojarse en las cercanías de funchal. Debido al calor del verano seria bueno que la casa tenga aire acondicionado, sería un plus increíble. De resto cero quejas. Recomendadisimo.

My brother and I stayed here for a week and had an incredible time. The apartment is spacious & clean, and the location is perfect for exploring the old town. Yes, the hill is steep, but the view is worth it! We would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Funchal.

Very spacious and panoramic apartment. Near all amenities, shops and supermarket. The owner and his sister in law helped us for any necessity. Very nice people indeed. Just a bit tiring to climb and reach the apartment, which is in the upper part of Funchal, but this is Madeira ....

This villa is a great space. It is very clean comfortable well furnished.It has two excellent showers; comfortable beds and has a fabulous position slightly up on the hill so the views over Funchal from the outside space are fantastic! It was a perfect base to explore the island and a lovely comfortable place to just chill. 5 mins walk to some nice eating places.There was excellent communication prior our stay and his sister in law kindly came to rescue us when we were lost on our first day! We will definitely stay here again when we return to Funchal.

The location of the property is perfect, with the view from the balcony amazing! It is quiet and peaceful and although up the hill, it is in easy walking distance of the town centre. The apartment is very clean and well equipped and has everything you would need for your stay and as listed. We took advantage of the transport from and to the airport and this was very reasonable and very convenient. I would most definitely stay here again and certainly recommend this property to others.

We had a very nice stay in this house because it was clean, quiet and convenient! We enjoyed the view all over Funchal seen from the balcony. It was only a short walk from the house to the center of the town. For sure we would love to come back to this property and will strongly recommend it tot our family and friends! Loved this place, fantastic location, spotlessly clean and really well equiped. Only 5 minutes form the center of Funchal, but a tough hill to get back home!! There is something for everyone on this island, shopping, sightseeing, nightlife, or just relaxing on the balcony with a glass of wine, would definatly return to this house again.
