About this apartment rental
Chalet Lacs D'Amour is situated in the Savoyarde Hamlet of Le Fornet, two kilometres from Val d'Isere, so combining mountain charm and tranquillity with the excitement of one of the world's top ski resorts. The chalet is divided into 4 apartments, sleeping a maximum of 20 people. The largest of the 4 apartments has 3 bedrooms on 3 levels, including fireplace, sauna and jacuzzi. At 1,950 metres the chalet is surrounded by snow for six months in the winter, and mountain pastures with alpine flowers in the summer. The Le Fornet cable car is a few minutes walk downhill from the chalet, giving access to winter and summer skiing. In the winter you have the choice of a blue or black run back to the front door of the chalet. In the ski season a shuttle bus service runs from Le Fornet every five minutes throughout the day to Val d'Isere. You can also take Le Fornet cable car and gondolas up on to the Le Fornet runs and then catch a chair lift over on to the other slopes in the area.
For all our clients we have recently entered into a collaboration with one of the best local ski shops who will give a special 40% - 50% discount arrangement for the hire of ski equipment! They will also collect you from the village by van and bring you back with your boots and skis or snow boards. In the Summer enjoy the long walks from the chalet up to waterfalls and a lake. The alpine flowers are truly breathtaking and the only sounds will be the birds and the marmottes and the sound of the river.

We had a fantastic trip and where very well supported by Sue (host) in the lead up with any questions about the property/resort. The property was great and facilities too, it does however become very cramped if staying as a 9 and the three person bunk room is perhaps best suited to three small children. Other than that, the location is excellent (able to ski to chalet at end of day) the chalet was very clean and is very well stocked with games/DVDs. Would highly recommend for families/small group trips.

Very Nice!

for 9 people?? better to say 4/6 adults and 5/3 children as it is impossible for adults to sleep in the room with 3 very tiny beds.
the flat is 80's style, from the furniture to the tableware. We found the flat dirty and the smell in general was bad... 1 small screen/TV hidden in a window at the end of a corridor, 1 sofa of 3 places and 1 sofa of 2 places for 9 people, a carpet full of dust... to resume I will not advise it at all if you want to have a comfortable and relaxed time after skying. Sauna is ok, jacuzzi is internal and very old style. The smell of the bathroom with big bathtub was so bad, and it was impossible to close the door of the toilet as it was so small!!!
Positive points: the location, the fireplace, the ski room

We spent a wonderful week in the triplex apartment, which is beautifully appointed, and very well situated. Le Fornet is a charming and very quiet village - no shops there, but the bus service to Val is very efficient. We never waited more than 5-10 minutes, including in the evening, and the trip takes 7 or so mins.
Despite the poor snow coverage it is possible to ski right up to the chalet, by going 200m or so off piste from the blue run (very easy).
The skiing was lovely, with access to the Pissaillas Glacier from Le Fornet téléphérique, a 10 min walk away.
The chalet itself is lovely with a log fire, and beautiful sauna and hot tub. The kitchen is very well equipped.
The local restaurant l'Arolay is great - booking well ahead of time is essential.
Hoping to go back next year...

We had a great stay in this apartment. Well equipped and enormous compared to the purpose built shoe boxes you can rent for a similar price in main village. The location is perfect for those who want to ski this great ski area, but have the feeling of staying in a traditional Savoyarde village. Highly recommend.

I organised a family holiday and found the Triplex through this website. We had a wonderful time for the week. Le Fornet is a small village with 30 odd chalets about 1,5km from Val D'Isere. There are buses every 10 mns and it is a very easy trip.
The chalet is lovely. There were 7 of us and we had ample room. 2 nice bedrooms and a VERY small one (very much like a small boat cabin with 3 singles). If you sleep 3 in that room make sure to leave the door open for air!
Great space for the kitchen, diners and living room with a nice fire place.
The chalet is the last one in the village so you will need chains or snow tyres if you want to anywhere close to it to offload your luggages....otherwise be prepared for a trek up the road.
Likewise, this is not ski in ski out (but very little number of places in Val d'Isere are). Le Fornet Cable Car is a 10mns walk which for sure makes for a great warm up before you start skiing!! You can get a little bit closer on the way back through the only blue trail on the way back and cut the journey to less than 5 mns getting back to the chalet.
You could ski back assuming there is enough snow and the black run through the forest is open which was not the case for us.... but irrespective it was a great place to stay at. Enough room, peaceful and really lovely.
The owner was also very nice to deal with through the entire process.
