About this house rental
Summary:
Only minutes away from shops, local breweries, the Golden 1 Center, Sac State University, major highways and bustling midtown; the UC Davis Med Center is less than a mile away, too. This is a 1930's double unit property with a colorful and artsy vibe.
Note: The Art House is the front unit. Theres a second unit in the rear of the property.
The Space:
My goal is that each guest has a great lodging experience. I can only hope that part of this is achieved through the many works of local artists and the unique, homey space I've worked hard to create.
Like the art? It’s also available for purchase. Your booking supports local artists - thank you!
Guest Access:
The entire 2 bedroom unit is available for access. There’s a small front porch area that You're welcome to use as well.
The attached garage is a closed space and is kept locked. There is no hanging out or gathering of any kind allowed in the garage area.
PARKING: If you have a car, please park on the street in front of the house :)
**Please do not park in the driveway**
The Neighborhood:
Tahoe Park is an established, safe and quiet neighborhood. The residents are easy going. The house itself is about a 5 minute drive from the always fun broadway triangle (in Oak Park); an area with great shops, breweries, and a kick ass bookstore. I love the Plant Foundry (nursery and garden) and i think you might, too.
Also close by is one of the city’s famed brunch spots- Bacon and Butter. It’s got tons of delicious options - get there early to beat the line. Just across the street is Tahoe park. It’s full of trees, green grass and perfect for a walk.
Getting Around:
If you get the chance, try the city's newest form of transit - electric bike sharing! JUMP Bikes are becoming more and more popular in the area and are a really fun way to get around. Of course Uber and Lyft are everywhere too!
Public transportation runs up and down the main cross street (Broadway); although I'm not the best with navigating the routes. Midtown is a 8 minute car ride away.
Other Things to Note:
Please do not park in the driveway.
Please keep noise levels down after 9pm.
This is a quiet neighborhood.
NOTE: We do NOT HAVE cable services. We offer streaming services such as Netflix, Roku, Prime, & Hulu. (Guest has to use their own Netflix account)
SMOKING of any kind is NOT ALLOWED.
Interaction with Guests:
At the front door, you can say "Hello" with the Nest Video Doorbell - just push the button (if you want to).
When you walk in, just say:
"ALEXA, TURN ON TAHOE LIGHTS!"
I leave basic household information around the kitchen area - wifi, tv navigation, lights (alexa), temp control instructions , etc. I've lived in Sacramento now for over 20 years- If you'd like advice on where to go for great food, entertainment or even a leisurely hike, just let me know ;).
If you need anything else, I can meet, you can call me or we can message.

Clean, comfortable. A good place to stay.

Our stay was relatively uneventful. Nice location in a quiet residential neighborhood that was convenient to parks, restaurants, and markets. Very easy to get into town, although construction on 50 was problematic. The house was part of a duplex but there was never any issues with the neighbors in the other unit. The art work on display was very interesting and a nice touch. The provided cutlery, dishes, and cooking utensils were adequate for our needs. The rooms were good size and the beds were very comfortable. Internet access was great and we enjoyed access to the Amazon Firestick attached to the TVs.
We suggest the owner consider taping down the carpet in the living room as it was a trip hazard. The stairs into the garage where the laundry is are not that safe and need a railing or something to make access safer. It would also help if more towels were available.

Very funky decor. Comfortable and had everything we needed.

Great place.

It was cute and fit our needs. My 12 year nephew loved the artwork. Nice quiet neighborhood.

Art house was cozy and cute and communication was good. The listing states there are four beds available, but there was not adequate bedding for the 2 couch beds in the living room, and we could not find towels inside the house for 4 quests. The towels and sheets could be located in a closet in the garage. A little bit of a hassle, but not a huge deal. Overall we could stay here again and enjoyed our time!

Manager responded quickly and cordially.
Neighborhood very convenient to every thing. Home was cleaned sub par. So many things broken, smelly and overlooked. Large gaps in metal bedroom blinds😕There's really no excuse for broken toilet seat, grass not maintained, No lid blender.???
Large broken tree branch in yrd.
Property pictures did not convey true experience of interior and front yrd.
Unfortunate because manager displayed beautiful mannerism but that didn't take care of the disappointing feeling of not getting what you played for.
