During my recent stay at Mayfair Hotel Tunneln in Malmo, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service and accommodations. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and it was evident that great care was taken to maintain a high standard throughout. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the city center made it incredibly convenient for exploring all that Malmo has to offer. Overall, my experience at Mayfair Hotel Tunneln exceeded my expectations, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Malmo.

Loved the room, nice little balcony, comfy bed. Loved the layout of the hotel, the up and down bits to find your room, and the age of the hotel/all the info about it's history. Loved the little library with coffee. Loved the waffle maker at breakfast!
In our room, 253, it was very difficult to get in and out of the bath/shower.

What we like is the Location and the parking garage. thatś it. The location is in the middle of the tourist attraction, walking distance to supermarket and restaurant area and parking garage is in front of the hotel, first you can park your car in front of the hotel for three minutes meanwhile you check your self in and ask for the code to access the parking garage. not for free ofcrs but reasonable price.
Room : we did not get what we had requested even though we have to pay €50 more per night for an upgrade that booking.com has offered to us. Not amused! but we made peace with that.
Breakfast : For us, everything is salty, you got a headache from it. Scrambled eggs are salty, meatballs as well, we have to googled why everything is salty, apparently Swedish people like their food like that. Well noted. so if you cannot tolerate salty food, better choose safety options like their pastry and fruits.
Facility and staff : Terrible! Zero! but maybe it was just a bad day for us because: it was 10 oclock at night and our toilet was clogged (understandable, old building does this), My husband call receptionist and reported this to him, with expectation he will sent somebody to fix the toilet, but Not, His answer was, you can use the toilet downstair, which is we stay at room 306 in 3rd floor. So we went down stair still shocked with His answer/solution from him, in our mind for the price we have to pay more than €250/ night, we are not gonna walk three stairs down only for the toilet. Once again at the receptionist, i ask him for solutions , these are his answers : 1. i am not a janitor/maintenance i am not gonna fix your toilet. 2.I cannot do anything. 3.What do you want me to do? 4. THE TOILET WAS NOT BROKEN WHEN YOU ARRIVED RIGHT? we were flabbergasted with this man's answers, and we told him we are going to check out tonight and we want our money back. so we were forced to check out because we cannot even have a decent basic human utility and were treated so badly. So around 10.30 we were finally checked out and he promised to get our money refund, which is still not in our account until now. will never stay in this hotel ever again. i promised.

4.3
Stunning place, with a lot of character in a perfect area
The breakfast was very small with no option for gluten free/lactose free due to allergies (even though we asked, and the had stated that they had options)

Best hotel! Amazing room, amazing breakfast, in the centre, good price! Amazing library. Best stay ever! Even the staff were so warm and kind.
4.3
Location and friendly staff
No ventilation or air conditioning (but I guess we could have researched that prior to our visit). Windows could not be open during rain. Way too hot to sleep comfortably.

Location and helpful staff.
It was expensive for a single room

Great central location, next to the main squares, gardens and central station.. We very much enjoyed our stay in this historic building. Great breakfast. Make sure to try the waffle corner!
We would definitely stay again.

I’ve already written a review in which I more or less praised the hotel and its staff. I have no intention to write a second review.
4.3
The single room was a bit small - and I got a bit crammed in the shower - but all in all a nice hotel with lovely staff.
4.3
Loved the historic charm mixed with modern art.
Dusted a bit when I arrived before settling in. Once all was to my standard, I was happily tucked in + found the accommodation and bed incredibly comfortable.
4.3
Location, historic hotel. Staff very helpful. Breakfast, good variety. Quiet room
Lots of stairs, first to get to reception then once we had used the elevator to get to our room. Parking expensive.

The stuff are amazing!

Modern hotel in an historic building. Very interesting displays and photos of its history. Spacious bedroom. Quiet despite central location. Convenient for the bridge and railway
4.3
Property is a lovely old building filled with history, the staff were friendly and excellent and the morning breakfast in the cellar was delicious.
Just something for travellers to take note of, the street can get very noisy if you open the windows.

Hotel Mayfair is an historical, private-owned and managed hotel, outside of the hotel companies and chains. As such, it maintains a certain personality, which can be plus. 5 old buildings compose the current Hotel: the spaces, layouts and decors are various, depending on the part of the hotel you are in: at first sight this creates curiosity and a certain fascination, but after a while this generates a sense of disorientation, and also chaos. The room was large, and very quiet, but the interior layout and also decor needs a bit of re-thinking, and renovation: it is perfectly possible to maintain the historical character of a building, while updating the services and the comforts. Welcoming, kind and available, the staff is very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast offers a fair choice of food. The hotel is located very close to the central train station, and to a number of bus and tram stops, which is a great added value. Price is fair.
In order to reach the room from the lobby it is necessary to leave 475 footprints, including 2 and a half lights of stairs (one up, one down, half up): OK the history, but this is a real inconvenience. The managers should really find a better way to connect the diverse parts, even by sacrificing the "suites" that occupy all the central court: that could, instead, be used to get from one side of the hotel to another, without going rounds, ups and downs.
The layout of the bathroom was very inefficient, uncomfy and also dangerous: to enter/exit the bath is really a challenge also for quite fit and still “young” people. It could be easily rearranged, also by respecting the old/fashioned style.
Breakfast is served in "the cellars": it is an interesting and fascinating space alright, but the current layout and organization of the buffets and various “corners” for beverages and for other stuff is very messy, unfriendly and uncomfortable (especially for those who have difficulties in walking...).
General cleanliness should be improved.
4.3
Lovely hotel which is dripping with history, facinating. Roms very comfortable and quiet. Hotel located very conveniently. Breakfast was very extensive and very good.
Lose the 'modern art' - it detracts from the hotel and makes it look cluttered (in my opinion).
