The pool area, free parking, eating breakfast outside

great location & friendly staff
would have liked a more extensive casual menu for lunch & to be able to eat in common areas - i.e: outside of just the restaurant area .. as there are so many lovely places throughout the hotel.

The hotel, the hoteliers, the food, the room, all of them were great. But on top of it all, I had a massage and your Masseuse was excellent. I love her service!

A really nice place with a really nice and kind staff.
High quality service for a really decent price especially in Italy.
They even created a specific entrance for the Spartan event participants (we were full of mud). We could wash ourselves before getting in the hotel and our room.

Lovely spot with a very genial staff—at the front desk, in the spa and restaurant, and in housekeeping. The spa is small but very pleasant, stylish and clean. The restaurant is excellent. This was my second stay at this relaxing spot. it will not be my last.

the location, decor and overall feel of the hotel was wonderful.
sadly the hotel furnishings in the bedroom, halls and spa were extremely old, beat up and uncared for. the spa facility has a lot of mold and it should be addressed. The spa massages were excellent but the spa not including Turkish path was a disappointment and seemed incredibly low class. I’ve stayed at lots of spa hotels in Italy and with a treatment this is included. i wouldn’t return nor recommend the place to friends. there are others for a similar price

It was a beautiful size room with great spa amentities, wonderful restaurant, delicious breakfast and above all else, amazing, friendly staff! It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel!
Lighting in the room could be a little brighter.

This is a destination hotel, not a touring accommodation. But if you are touring through Umbria and Tuscany and want simply to rest and relax for a few days, this is a GREAT spot. The hotel is lovely, the spa is really nice, the pool area is extensive, the restaurant is excellent, the bar is cool. of course, you CAN use this as a base hotel for checking out the area, bu t once you are here, you probably won’t want to leave. And to top it all off, it’s not as expensive as you might expect. Good value, great accommodation.

There are no words to express how surprised we were athe hotel! The staff from front desk, housekeeping, spa, and restaurant staff were so on top of everything. Always made themselves at your disposal. The hotel itself was absolutely stunning especially the art was a true surprise. The creativity of the pool and outdoor space was stellar! Great location to tour Umbria and with the front desk always giving fantastic recommendations it made the touring so easy! Even where to park in the various cities!

Large, spacious hotel located 15 minutes walk from Gubbio. The facilities are very good and include a gym and pool included in the price. The range of offerings for breakfast was very good and the evening dinner menu was interesting. The staff were generally very pleasant.
Our room was rather dark. There was no hotel information in our room and the information page on the hotel TV wasn’t available. The TV had no English language channels, which is most surprising for a 4 star hotel attracting many foreigners.
The outside bar area looked onto the car park! There were no tea and coffee making facilities in our room. on our first night the hot water temperature was barely warm, although it was fine subsequently.

we've stayed there a few times before and always stay there if we are in the area
One tiny little thing, the bacon and eggs in the breakfast buffet were cold.

we couldn’t easily get into spa which is supposed to be booked in advance - and nobody told us about it

We reserved this hotel because of its fitness gym room which indeed exceeded our expectations because of the variety of the technogym machines, all of them in working conditions, as we had never seen in any other gym.
Breakfast is a treat with so many delicacies from the surrondings like the cherries of Canterano or the homemade jams and cakes and it is served in the outmost observance of anticovid safety rules.
The halls are really the showroom of the family who owns the place: from 14th centuries frescoes to Pomodoro sculptures, textiles and ceramics. The rooms are full of art too including the joyfull friars in the Middleages by Norberto Proietti and the uniquely hand woven textiles by Atelier Brozzetti in Perugia.
The boutique at the check in has very good products. ( I even bought three kitchen towels of umbrian cloth out of which I sew a patchwork tablecloth).
The hotel is only 1 km far from downtown , very close to the Roman theatre and we never felt the need to use the car during our week stay.
There are essentially three kinds of accomodations: the original friar' s rooms which are cozy but small and with no drawers so in the long run it may be really challenging for two persons to move around.
In the new section the rooms are large but standard like in any western style hotel and you don' t really feel like you are staying in a XVIth century building.
Then there are the junior suites and those few rooms out of the 99 rooms of the hotel are absolutely outstanding.

Large and very nice hotel. Large and nice room. Very quiet. Extensive wellness area with lots of services and a decent size swimming pool. Very good and opulent breakfast.
WiFi was wobbly and kicked us out quite often. Very annoying in a hotel of this class.

Staff very helpful;
Beautifull pool but an outdoor swimming pool is missing
