About this villa rental
The first thing you are greeted with as you arrive at Shangrila Villa is the most spectacular uninterrupted view of the Caribbean Sea which is without doubt a “WOW” factors of this property & where you can enjoy your own private pool, garden & terrace. The property is set in a wonderful well kept garden with shaded sitting areas for your enjoyment. There are many fruit trees including banana, breadfruit, mango, cherry & of course an ackee tree the fruit from which is used in the National Jamaican dish of ackee & salt fish
The Villa sleeps up to 8 people, has a full working kitchen with all utensils, washing machine, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, fast wifi, parking, air conditioning, standing fan in each bedroom & all rooms are en-suite. There is a spacious living area overlooking the fantastic view & without a doubt the main highlight of this property is the pool & patio terrace area where you can relax, swim enjoy your meals & take in the breathtaking view. The property has books, board games, toys & the obligatory box of dominoes.
On arrival at the property you will always be greeted with a smile, given a tour of the property & helped to settle in. We respect people’s privacy and understand some guests wish to come and go at their own leisure with little involvement from the staff whilst other guests prefer to be pampered around the clock, it is your vacation and we want it to be right for you. A contact is available for any problems and there will always be someone on site once a day to help you with your every need.
Check in is after 3pm and Check out is before 11am unless prior arrangements are made. Please advise if a late or early arrival is required we will try and accommodate if the rooms are available. Luggage can always be stored if needed
For your safety we have an on-site caretaker / groundskeeper, CCTV coverage of the outside of the property, safes are available in each bedroom. We have fire extinguishers carbon monoxide & smoke detectors.
Nestled in the safe and friendly community, in the pleasant area of Whitehouse a local fishing village away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas yet close enough to visit, Shangrila villa is located on the Anchor estate of Culloden by the sea near to Sandals. Being immediately off the main A2 the property is easy to find and can take you to any area of the island, being a small island nowhere is too far & the drive is always a journey in itself with wonderful views sights & experiences all en-route. Everywhere you drive you will come across jerk huts, restaurants & small towns offering shops and amenities you just need to get out there and explore.
For beach lovers the property comes with access to its own small residential beach, there are beautiful beaches with crystal clear warm waters in abundance along the coastline with the local Bluefield’s beach only 10 minutes by car. For nature lovers the opposite view to the coast offers beautiful green vegetation and wildlife

The hosts have a wealth of knowledge about every aspect of the island. If arriving by your own car and you want to organise your own itineraries, they can help by providing the information and literature you need, for you to arrange the self guided tours as above yourself, and give directions on how to best access the island.
If you do not wish to drive yourself and you need Tours, JUTA TAXI or Airport transfers we can recommend private reliable drivers who can see to all of your transport needs this is a separate service and fees are paid and arranged directly with the provider. JUTA taxis are the safe recognised and licensed transportation system for tourists, local taxis are available but these are not usually recommended for tourists with no knowledge of the system or area, to stay safe we would always recommend using JUTA.
The Villa has a beautiful pool area overlooking the wonderful view. On arrival we recommend you familiarise yourself with the depth of the pool prior to use and observe the warning signs. Pool towels are not provided room towels should not be used in the area it is therefore advised to bring your own towels to use at the beach and pool. For hygiene reasons an outdoor shower is provided to use prior to entering and after using the pool.
The property manager can arrange exclusive private events including, a private chef to cater for meals during your vacation, weddings, birthday party’s, christenings and work conferences these events are all catered for separately for an additional fee and will need to be booked through the manager either during or prior to your stay.
As with all Properties we want you to feel at home and to enjoy your vacation but we do have rules and we wish to be upfront about these, this is to to ensure your safety and ensure the Villa remains in original condition for future guests to enjoy by booking you agree to our policies :
SMOKING
Smoking is not permitted inside the Villa and should be confined to the paved outside areas. We ask that guests do not discard cigarettes in grassy areas as this can cause garden fires and that they use the ashtrays provided
CLEANING
The $35 cleaning fee covers for cleaning on leaving. Additional cleaning during stay can be arranged at $35 per day. Initial supply of toilet rolls, soap provided & only replenished if extra clean provided.
CHILDREN
Children are always welcome but must be supervised at all times, they must be discouraged to not enter the out of bound areas the kitchen and Pantry, they need to be with their parents at all times.
Children need to be supervised using the pool and garden areas. No responsibility for accidents will be accepted by the management
GROUNDS
Guests are free to enjoy the gardens and grounds but are to be reminded that the property has steps, steep slopes and some rugged garden areas the management will not be held responsible for any slips trips or falls this is especially important when supervising children.
GUEST BEHAVIOURS
We want all of our guests to have an enjoyable holiday please therefore be respectful of others at all times. Any unruly guests will in the first instance be given a gentle warning re their behaviours if this continues the management reserve the right to remove the person’s.
Drugs and excessive use of alcohol is not permitted. No house parties are permitted other than events arranged via the property manager. Only the 8 guests max booked on the original itinerary are permitted to enter the property and no unregistered guests are welcome.
DAMAGES AND BREAKAGES
Any damage or accidents to the property or its items should be reported to staff immediately. We fully understand accidents happen and if shared these can be dealt with, without any issues. A description & a photo should be documented so any damage can be assessed repaired or replaced. If the guest is found liable of any damages due to negligence or malicious intent the deposit held on the guests account will be withheld until the repairs or damages are assessed and paid for. Safe to be left open and all remotes accounted for on departure.
POOL
The pool has no lifeguard and is to be used at your own risk at all times.
As you look at the pool from the villas grilled patio it is 1.0M deep to the right graduating to 1.8M to the left. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the depth of the pool prior to use & observe the warning signs.
Pool towels are not provided and room towels should not be used in the area.
Please shower prior to using the pool and dry off prior to entering the Villa to avoid wet slippery floors.
To avoid accidents PLEASE do not take glasses or bottles to the pool area and avoid excessive use of alcohol when using the pool, plastic cups are available on request.
POWER CUTS
Power disruption is unavoidable and can occur often in Jamaica
The properties Solar panels provides a battery back up should the electricity from the grid be
disrupted, there should be enough electricity to run the essential items.

TO WORK DURING ANY OUTAGE, THE AIR CONDITIONING UNITS WILL AUTOMATICALLY CUT OUT AND NOT WORK IF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLIED FROM THE GRID IS DISRUPTED

Air conditioning is available in each bedroom We would gratefully appreciate it if you would please be mindful of the environment and electricity costs and switch off when the room is not in use. Please ensure the remote control is left in the room at all times.
CAR PARKING
Car parking is available free of charge
Parking is done at the drivers own risk the management take no responsibility for damage loss or theft of possessions associated with the vehicle
