The charming house was spotlessly clean on arrival with plenty of room inside and out for our large group of grandchildren to find space for games. Swimming pool was wonderful. A great family holiday.

Me and my family stayed in the cottage for a week and had a lovely time. We were welcomed by Janet who was very helpful throughout are stay, she was on call if we had any questions or any problems which was great to no. The cottage and chateau was situated in a quiet little village, but was also not to far from some nice beaches and some lovely places to visit. We were lucky with weather and also lucky to be sharing the grounds and pool with another wonderful family group which made are holiday perfect. We had a great holiday and would recommend to anybody who is thinking of staying here.

Well what can we say about this chateau.........Book it!! We held a 50th birthday surprise for my wife at the chateau - it was perfect, it is a simply stunning property - kids will love roaming and hunting around the house and grounds. The pool was very well maintained as was everything from our initial booking until the day we left - a big huge thank you to Angela and Judith - both were so helpful and made our holiday one to remember. The locals are very friendly, they all knew we were a party and made us feel very welcome, trying to arrange a date next year to return - thank you everyone who made this a truly wonderful experience -

We had a wonderful get away in the darling cottage. We were warmly welcomed by Janet to this beautiful French countryside. The cottage was exactly what our family needed after a busy stop in Paris. The grounds were well maintained with wonderful areas to roam. We especially enjoyed the company of the ponies and donkey. The cottage itself has a warm cozy decor. We highly recommended!!!

What a great week! We travelled as a large group (17) so hired both wings of the main house, this provided more space than enough with beds to spare. Our party included 9 children of varying ages so separate adult and child dining was ideal given the two large dining areas.
The grounds and stream provided plenty of entertainment for the children but the wonderful surrounding country side and places to visit made the week fly by.
As party organiser my job was made simple by the owners clear and quick communication.
While for some of the older children a lack of internet connection initially caused concern for some of us that is a blessing.
So the big question would we go back? - BIG FAT YES!!

There were 17 of us made up of 4 families, 8 adults and 9 children, ages ranging from 8 to 16.
The accommodation was flexible enough to suit us all, and apart from one or two minor irritations everything was of a very good standard. We made great use of all the facilities.
The children enjoyed using the pool, paddling and netting in the fast moving stream, playing games throughout the large space within the house, spending lots of time in the jacuzzi. They brought an x box and one lounge was used mainly for that whilst the other was used more for dvds/tv. They also played games of volleyball and footie outside. Occasionally they even visited Pete the donkey in his field.
This left the adults to relax without children, or to join in as they wished. (We did organise a few things; honest!)
We explored the area on foot and by car, going for country walks, visiting the seaside and going on a steam train.
We have loads of photos and video footage to remind us of a truly fantastic time. I think the children will remember it as a 'golden' memory.
In fact we'd all love to return!

This beautiful Chateau was a great choice for our extra special Family Holiday to celebrate two 60th birthdays and out 40th Wedding Anniversary with three generations of our family.
We booked the East and West wings of the beautiful chateau so all members of the family could experience the ambience together.
We were a family party of 9 adults and 4 children from the UK and New York and having travelled to France on the Eurostar, we stopped off at Boulogne and had lunch at " La petite auberge" in the Old Town which we had booked by email. It was a great choice.
Chateau de la vallee was everything we could have wished for, beautifully clean well equipped, well decorated and furnished rooms, no expense was spared to make the Chateau comfortable and welcoming and we all agreed that staying in the Chateau, all together as a family was the experience of a lifetime. The housekeeper and local manager couldn't have been more helpful at all times.
The grandchildren walked to the friendly local bakery 2 minutes away each morning ( it shuts one day only) to collect the croissants and baguettes for breakfast and spent many hours exploring and playing in the extensive gardens. We were lucky to have great weather in March and enjoyed long walks in the area.
A lot of advance planning went into organising a day trip to Paris (we booked our train tickets and Metro carnet in the UK, a real time saver for our large group www.raileurope.co.uk and www.helloparis.co.uk )
We had booked a table for 9+4 at " La tete d'or" an authentic French restaurant in Paris before we left the UK and they were expecting us and a fabulous experience was had by all.
Drive from Grandcourt to Amiens ( 1 hour) and park in the underground carpark at the station. The 8.30 train takes 1 hour to get to Paris, it is all very civilised, a clean comfortable train and Paris was as magical as ever. The return train at 7pm also takes 1 hour and the car parking cost less than 10euro.
We also did day trips to the area of the Somme battlefields, and the beautiful beaches and towns around Grandcourt.
Each evening we had a fabulous meal, cooked by different members of the family , which went on for hours around the grand table in the West wing. It was all very relaxing and we felt quite at home in the beautiful warm Chateau and civilized French way of life. We had lunch the day before we left at " Relais du lion d'or" in Londiniere, we thoroughly recommend this traditional French restaurant.

We stayed in the cottage in January as a pre visit- We are hiring the chateau in the summer to hold our wedding there, so this was a visit to check out all the local amenaties and the property itself.
Even in the depths of winter (it was -5 when we arrived) the properties and gardens are wonderful. The Cottage was an ideal base for exploring the local area and there is plenty to do within 15-20mins, I would say a car is essential to make the most of your visit. The description of the property is an accurate reflection and although we didn't get bath robes all the bath towels and linen were of a high standard. The welcome book was really helpful in suggesting places to visit and we hopped on a train to paris for the day. The owner has been very helpful in suggesting local contacts to help on our wedding day and now we are really excited about visiting with all of our family for hopefully a wonderful family holiday and a fabulous wedding.

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. Great towels and robes and a wonderful champagne reception. The grounds were GREAT! The owner communicated with us extremely well and was very helpful. There is so much to do around the area (I suggest the market at Dieppe on Saturdays), but not so much in Grandcourt itself. However, if you had a big family getaway to just enjoy family this place would be it. Its really something. We stayed in the cottage and my only complaint would be that it was a bit tight for the number of people it slept. I would say that the cottage really would sleep 4 adults and 2 children and not 6 adults. Besides that I would highly recommend this place if you want peace and quiet and to enjoy family time together... and a thank you to the owner.
