About this cottage rental

A cozy private cottage surrounded by forest and a river view. We are located about a 5 minute drive from Baptiste lake (great for fishing) and other amazing attractions. You have a fire pit, BBQ and private deck to enjoy your meals and morning coffee with great view. Located away from city noise and traffic yet close to main town for a little shopping, entertainment or dining. The cottage comes with a completely equipped functional kitchen. A TV and board games to make your stay more enjoyable.
The space
Hastings Highlands is a great area with many attractions.
You can go fishing on Baptiste lake or hiking to Eagles nest which gives an amazing view. Algonquin park is just 45 min away and Kawartha provincial park is 50 min away. Many other trails and views to explore.
Guest access
Guests can access all spaces on the property, except ones with a lock. Like the storage room, basement and sheds. There is a boat stored on site, guests DO NOT have any access to the boat.
Other things to note
The cottage is in a forest area and there are mosquitoes and black fly's. It would be great to bring insect repellant with you, if you plan to spend time outside.

Overall we had a nice stay. We found the location to be handy. We were pleasantly surprised to have almost no moskitos. There is access to the river but just to look at, no real place to sit and enjoy it or to swim. If you like to walk, you can take a mostly undisturbed walk on the road. We found what we needed in the kitchen. A few snacks and spices were nice. The interior was pleasant and roomy. The disappointment was to find white drool(?) stains on my pillow cases on the bed. And the fact that there were no flat sheets on the bed was not comforting considering the state of the pillows. I found clean pillows on the other beds. The other cleanliness issue was a huge spill on the outside wall, which is already pretty grungy on the back porch and stains on the carpet going out the patio door. So, I didn't want to be barefoot on any carpets after seeing that. Some little odds and ends need tending to: screen on patio door is broken, missing ceiling tile in bedroom... but these were minor issues. The cleanliness was the big disappointment especially for the price.

The property was good, spacious and clean. We enjoyed our stay very much. When we had questions they were prompt with their response. Would stay again.

Place was clean and Deepak is easy to contact. Place was really quite if you want to leave the city life. Very relaxing and has several good fishing spot!
