About this house rental
Welcome to ”GothenburgVilla”, located in a calm area close to Gothenburg center. A perfect place to gather a large family or group of friends for a reunion. Built in 1915 and since most areas have been renovated to modern standards while keeping its turn of the century charm. Large windows provide lots of natural light. Five minutes walk to a nature reserve with running tracks through the pristine forest. Well connected to public transport. A lot of space, on two floors, in this lovely classic “GothenburgVilla” is yours. The combined dining room / open kitchen on the first floor will let you accommodate the large family or the large group of friends. The living room with a large sofa, TV and fireplace on the second floor makes it easy to socialize. There are five bedrooms, located on the second floor. The large master bedroom with a king size bed has windows facing east, south and west. Two east facing bedrooms - one with a king size bed and one with a queen size bed. The fourth bedroom is smaller, west facing and features a double bed. The fifth "kids bedroom", directly connected to the master bedroom, is smaller and has a window facing west. There is also a separate cabin in the garden with a king size bed. It is also possible to add two extra beds in the common areas. Enjoy the hot tub and BBQs outside in the private garden behind the house. The nature reserve Safjället, only five minutes away by foot, provides running tracks that are lit up at night and an outdoor gym. We had the best stay in this lovely home! Great kitchen and living area; plenty of room and well-kept. The beds were so comfy! Our host Axel was easy to communicate with and very responsive. Also gave us many recommendations for good food and exploration. Would recommend this location for your holiday, 100%.

The Villa was very clean and we very much enjoyed our short stay. The kitchen was great for preparing and eating a meal at home. The host was very friendly and easy to get in contact with!

I unfortunately booked to stay here and when we arrived it did not look anything like the photos. It was not well taken care of (plants caked with dust, sticky table/dirty chairs, freezer door handle missing, torn sheets, threadbare towels, yard of weeds, overall very bare and minimally stocked, ... ) And the TV that was listed was not there - when asked about it - it had apparently been take for a warranty fix before we arrived but we were not told. And you couldn't even access the "kids" room that was listed.
We also found out that the laundry listed - was in the locked basement of which there was no key left for us (we had to borrow the tenant's key) and when went down to use it - we discovered it was under a deck with a bunch of junk, and then through a dark, dirty basement that you had to crouch down to get through.
My mom, who was very looking forward to staying here, was incredibly disappointed and didn't feel comfortable there. Needless to stay we didn't stay and left. The host was communicative but did not think anything wrong the complete misrepresentation of the property when I told him and did not offer any refund.
I just rechecked their listing and see they have since swapped out some of the false photos of the location but not all - so it now at least the bedrooms look a little more accurate. I hope the place get a massive scrub down and they update everything (or at the very least fix some things and get new linens) before anyone else stays there.

We enjoyed our stay at Xavier's villa. This is a traditional Swedish home with modern amenities including a spacious layout and nicely appointed kitchen. The back deck and outdoor dining area is quite lovely. The neighborhood is quiet, has many nice traditional homes, felt very safe, and was nice for strolling. It is a short drive or longer bike ride into the urban areas of Gothenburg. The house is a bit more sparse than the pictures depict (much of the artwork, lighting, decor items, throw pillows, etc have been removed), but the space is clean and functioned well for our family. The 4th bedroom (which we didn't need) is very small (just room for a bed). Inquire ahead if you plan to use the hot tub. There is room on the property for a car, which was a big benefit. The location is easy in/out. Overall a lovely place and we enjoyed our time here.
