About this apartment rental

The Moko Jumbie house, which once stood as the Danish Armory, boasts characteristics of early nineteenth-century residential buildings of Christiansted. This historic property is over 200 years old and has been restored with much love and care as a 4 unit Airbnb. The added interest is in the placement of the stepped site and the double-curved grand stairway leading to a masonry bay centered against the front gallery. The original yellow Danish bricks throughout the exterior have been preserved and allocated with great attention to detail, providing a truly unique experience. The floors are original old pine, restored thanks to many months of work preserving their impressive longevity. "The Guardians" a bronze artwork by sculptor Ward Tomlinson Elicker, is permanently located just steps from your front door.

Located just 1 block down from the boardwalk, The Moko Jumbie BusinessTravel Bliss Suite is an upstairs, private 1 bed/1 bath(plus kitchenette and laundry) unit. The entrance of this suite is a walk up the open-arms staircase to a seating area with water views right next to the front door. You will enter the room with a bed and a living area—the extra large bathroom featuring floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble and a glass shower. The bathroom windows have a beautiful view, looking out into nothing but private greenery. This stay has a split A/C unit in the main room to keep you comfortable. There is an additional area with your private washer/dryer and closet/storage space through the kitchenette area.

As you settle into your accommodations, we want to ensure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We kindly request your cooperation in using water and power responsibly during your time with us. By doing so, not only do you contribute to environmental sustainability, but you also help us keep energy costs down for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and support!

All interior spaces within your unit are designated as private. The exterior grounds are accessible to the public from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. A communal laundry facility located on the lower level is available to guests during the aforementioned hours on weekdays, with the possibility of additional access by request. It is important to note that while considerable efforts have been made to enhance its usability, the preserved historic nature of the building precludes wheelchair accessibility.

Please note that we currently do not have backup power available. However, we are actively working on installing it.

We want to remind you that our team is dedicated to assisting in every way possible. Please feel free to contact us via the messaging platform with any questions or concerns.

We aim to ensure that your experience with us is exceptional, and we are committed to making that happen.

As our establishment is on an island, we kindly ask our guests to be mindful of their water and electricity usage. My family & I flew in to bury our uncle who passed away of cancer. I booked this place for my mother & I to stay but a cousin was looking for a place. I reached out to the property manager, who was able to accommodate my cousin with an air mattress after I paid an additional fee. I was very grateful for the accommodation in our time of need. Just after we put my Uncle to rest, we took a 4th cousin to her rented place to change her clothes to attend the repass. She rode back with us & when the 3 of us who were staying went to change she wanted to take pictures. This was on a Friday around 1pm, per the description, the grounds are open to the public weekdays 9am-3pm. We were approached by a lady who asked us, “What’s going on?”, in an accusatory tone. This person did not introduce herself or explain why she was asking this question. My mom asked who she was & they stated they were the owner. We were confused because we knew we made accommodations. She told us these are two person rooms, only two people are allowed on the property & it’s in the rules & she didn’t understand why we were standing there looking confused. She also told us we looked angry & snapped her hands at us. We explained we were not angry, just confused because we had spoken to someone already. As Black women from the island, this felt like a racist, passive aggressive encounter & it could have been handled better. We would’ve recommended others stay but I’d be wary of you’re Black or a local back to visit.

The Moko Jumbie house Indigo Suite was excellent for our stay. Great location, top notch remodel. We enjoyed easy daily walks to the Boardwalk and Downtown area. There was good space for parking the rental car. Marianne provided great communications and clear directions. Thanks.

Small but nice and clean and close to boardwalk. Was nice having washer/dryer. No table to sit at and eat. Must use own sign ins to access tv as is a Roku tv. If can’t get tv is probably due to tv not hooked up to internet which was our problem first night we were there. Was corrected next morning by host
