About this apartment rental
Welcome to Casa Mañana. It is a third-floor, beachfront penthouse that is a jewel in the sky: light, airy, and with all that your family (whether bio- or logical) needs to find joy on the beach. We designed the rooms to be beautiful, all-natural/sustainable, and functional for families on vacation. You'll find a fully-stocked kitchen, bedrooms with all-natural linens on memory foam mattresses, comfortable living and dining spaces - both inside and out. We are also happy to share our stand up paddleboards, beach chairs, beach toys, coolers, sun hats, and beach towels to make your beach days comfortable and fun.
Casa Mañana was built in the mid 1900s as a shared investment by two San Juan families who wanted a place to vacation together. The grandparents lived in the two penthouses, and they hosted late night parties on the terrace with dominoes, live music, and rum drinks while the cousins slept on mattresses around the edges of the terrace. The grandparents passed it down to their children, who passed it down to their children. Several of the second and third generations of the two families are still owners in the building, and you can feel the memories in the walls of the building. Our favorite memories include morning coffee and play time on the terrace, reading in a hammock swing after a day at the beach, and leisurely evening drinks on the balcony. We're honored to offer you a chance to create memories here, too.
Casa Mañana is perfectly located for vacation. From Casa Mañana, you can walk east to the famous kioskos, which are comprised of a row of around 60 family-owned kiosks selling food, drinks, and souvenirs. They're all open air, and while some face the street, others have beautiful views of the beach. In the other direction, you can also walk along the beach, ford the Rio Mameyes (stopping to take in the hands-down best view of El Yunque on the island), and stop in for a drink and snacks at the outdoor bar of the Wyndham Grand Rio. Along the way, you'll likely see folks fishing where the river meets the sea or horseback riders on the beach.
Within a five minute drive east, you'll arrive in downtown Luquillo, with a plaza that hosts farmers markets and dances; cafes, restaurants, and bars line the plaza and surrounding streets. Luquillo has its own baseball stadium and a https://www.discoverpuertorico.com/profile/centro-de-arte-y-cultura-de-luquillo/7763 performing arts center. Luquillo also has a https://www.walgreens.com/locator/walgreens-889+calle+2-luquillo-pr-00773/id=9215 Walgreens and https://www.walmart.com/store/3682-luquillo-pr Amigo, a full-service grocery store owned by Walmart. Driving five minutes in the other direction, you'll enter Rio Grande, home of the El Yunque National Forest. Rio Grande has one main street with some of our favorite places to hangout - https://degree18juice.com/ Degree 18, http://www.lluviapr.com/ Lluvia Deli Bar and Artefacto, and https://bungalu-rest-bar.business.site/ Bungalu Rest & Bar, to name a few - and a couple of souvenir shops.
Ten minutes away is El Yunque. El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the national forest system. At nearly 29,000 acres, it is one of the smallest in size, yet one of the most biologically diverse. It has breathtaking scenery, clear mountain rivers, and outdoor recreation opportunities year round.
Also ten minutes away are two 18-hole golf courses at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Golf Club. The River Course is by Greg Norman and Ocean Course by Tom and George Fazio. Ocean Course comes by its name honestly, with views of the sea and beach on the back nine. Likewise, River Course features the Mameyes River snaking throughout the property.
While we're closer to Fajardo - and the ferries to Vieques and Culebra - than we are to San Juan, both are easy day trips from Casa Mañana. If you're feeling up for an adventure further afield, the coffee plantations and west coast are doable - albeit long - day trips, too.

Had a great holiday weekend with family at a beautiful beach getaway. Hosts were very attentive and a great resource for things to do near the apartment! But with the beach at your front door, what’s better than that! Thank you for a great stay!

This is a wonderful little vacation spot. It is right on the beach, so close to El Yunque, walking distance to the kiosks in Luquillo, and a short ride to Old San Juan and Fajardo. The house is comfortable and stocked with lots of extras that make for a pleasant stay (to-go bottles for bringing water on hikes or beverages to the beach, board games to play with the family, storage containers for left over food).
Would highly recommend!

Place was great with a few exceptions. The dryer vent that should go outside was sitting on the shelf next to it. Causing all the hot air to stay in the house. It made the living area so hot you could not stay out there.
I left a message through Vrbo and email about a magnet I accidentally broke and a knob on the oven that was already broken but they never responded. Other than that the place was amazing.

The unit was very comfortable and in a convenient location. It was WELL stocked with everything you need, from kitchen items, cleaning products and shampoo & conditioner. We were a party of five and it was very comfortable. The views of the ocean and sunrises in the morning was amazing. One of the rooms was set-up for a kids rooms, which I was impressed with the toys that was available for aby child to enjoy. Highly recommend this place for family stays.

I can’t say enough, this apartment was perfect for my family of four adults and two teenagers. The apartment had plenty of room, we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. Every morning we made breakfast and enjoyed eating on the balcony, it was so relaxing. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals if we wanted. We were able to wash clothes/towels when needed. The beds were very comfortable. The apartment had everything we needed to make our stay perfect, like umbrellas, ponchos, towels, shampoo/conditioner, beach toys, chairs, coolers…. It was so nice to be able to hear the ocean all the time. One thing to know is that your “beachfront” access is rocky but you can walk up or down the beach to a nice area where you could get in. Also bring cards or games to play, it was enjoyable to play at the table outside. Honestly I would stay here again!!!

Loved the location

House is relatively well situated about a 20 minutes walk to the beach( access to water was washed away by the hurricane as can be seen on google earth so we knew this before we rented and it was not an issue)..
Nice view from the balcony, with nice seating and eating area. The beach equipment provided is nice, chairs, surf boards and cool boxes.
Nice pretty rooms. Pigeons are roosting around the air conditioning units which adds a certain charm listening to them at night. The plastic curtains in the bedrooms are a nice addition and make the rooms a bit darker.
Beds are comfortable and kitchen sufficiently equiped, no need to buy washing up liquid, toilet paper or shampoo which is nice.
Plenty of sheets, blankets, towels and dish colths. Washing machine and dryer a very good thing.
Spacious, enough seating for four in the living room area and more on the balcony.
Very responsive and helpfull owners, The guide to the place provided is a very nice touch.
The less positive
The air con leaks in the master and there is musty smell in there but fans and airfreshner is provided.
The bath tub in the ensuite is not great (it is clean but feels dirty with the rust and paint)
entrance gate and the downstairs door are not working, but we found this handy as we didn't have to key in numbers to get in the yard and the building!!!
Smoke alarm is not working.

This was exactly what we wanted for our girls trip! The view of the Caribbean right off the balcony made for peaceful and relaxing mornings and evenings. Before checking in, you get an online guide to the property and surrounding area, which was incredibly helpful. The host has thought of everything you might need during your stay, and when we needed a little assistance, she was quick to help. The beds were so comfortable. We have only wonderful memories and comments about our stay at Casa Mañana.

The location, the view, the amenities, the cozy comforts...all top notch! In every room you can feel the personal touches and attention to detail. A very well outfitted kitchen; tons of towels and soaps; the most adorable kids room with comfy floor seating, books, and Montessori-esqu toys; air conditioning; laundry; super cool decor; a primary en suite! I could go on.
The outdoor living space is enormous. A huge family-style outdoor table, hammock chairs, loungers, and still room for yoga, kids floor play, and maybe a dance party? And the ocean view is absolutely stunning. In every room of the condo you can hear the ocean, and the ocean breeze throughout is quite amazing.
The location! It truly is exactly where you want to be on a Puerto Rican vacation. So many world class beaches, snorkeling, day trips, local food...and oh my goodness El Yunque. To be able to step out one door and be on the ocean, and then look out another window and see El Yunque is remarkable.
Courtney and Huck are highly responsive and super great to work with. You can tell they are very excited to share their place with others, and have taken great care to ensure an awesome stay.
I wish I could give it six stars!

Utterly delightful! Casa Manana is beautifully equipped and welcoming. It has everything you can imagine needing, and I was constantly delighted by the artistry and homey-ness of the space. Sitting in the main room with the French doors open makes it seem like the ocean is literally your front yard. For someone who loves the ocean, this was pure bliss :)
I was able to work remotely for part days with no problems - set up in the main room with great wi-fi. Because of where Casa Manana is located, my half day vacationing still allowed me plenty of beach time, delicious restaurants within 10 min drive, and easy access to the rainforest and waterfalls.
The bedrooms are large, and able to be closed up so you can nestle away for a nap even if activity is going on in the rest of the apartment. Having a washer and dryer right in the apartment was a big convenience, and much appreciated.
I can not wait to return - to Casa Manana and Puerto Rico both. So many more things to explore, and so many delights I want to experience again. Casa Manana is truly a magical home-away-from-home to support you in whatever kind of vacation you are looking for!
