About this house rental
Along the southern shoreline of over 19,000 acres of freshwater adventure sits Sunset Evening, a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home that exudes southern charm inside and out. From its warm yellow exterior shaded by the canopy of trees to the interior convenience of all rooms on the main level, this lakefront retreat invites guests to sit a spell on the porch swing, meander down to the private dock, and create family memories accented by the natural beauty of Lake Oconee.
One of the first amenities of this retreat is found it what it doesn't have: no gate passes, busy streets, or limited parking. Located near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac means no thru traffic, and the gravel drive provides enough parking for several vehicles. A keyless entry allows for easy access to the main level.
Inside, guests are welcomed by a vaulted ceiling, hardwood floors, and a spacious layout combining kitchen, living area, and dining. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dinnerware. It has updated stainless-steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave smooth-top over, and French door refrigerator. There is also a toaster oven, electric kettle, and two types of coffee makers (12-cup drip and French press). Plenty of counter space makes it easy for dinner at home, and the dining table offers seating for six with an additional three at the nearby barstools. In warm weather, take the feast outdoors to the screened porch, where six can gather around the patio table and enjoy fresh air without the intrusion of bugs. Just off the kitchen is a laundry nook with a full size washer and dryer.
The living area provides a soft place to land at the end of the day, no matter if it's been spent shopping, resting, or in full-throttle pursuit of lake activity. A leather armchair and an oversized sectional offer generous and comfortable seating, and a flatscreen TV is ready for streaming the latest Netflix release.
Directly off the living area and occupying its own west wing of the house is the master suite, with private views of the sprawling backyard and the lake. It is furnished with a queen bed, side table, dresser, desk, walk-in closet, and a wall-mounted flatscreen TV for late nights or lazy mornings. The ensuite bath features a double-sink vanity and a tiled shower with a detachable shower head.
On the opposite side of the house are two guest rooms, each with a queen bed, night stands, and closet. A shared bathroom features a single vanity and a tiled shower with a detachable shower head.
A loft (with staircase accessible from the kitchen) will delight the younger crowd and boasts two daybeds with trundles to comfortably sleep four. A sofa, beanbag chairs, and plentiful toys and games offer hours of entertainment and allow kids and grandkids to have their own space while providing aerial views of the lake on one side and the kitchen/dining area on the other.
However, the most coveted space of Sunset Evening is what waits right beyond the back door. No southern retreat is complete without a screened porch, and ours beckons guests with an outdoor table, six dining chairs, four Adirondacks, and a swing that are practically begging for sunset conversations underneath the gentle breeze of the overhead fan.
Take the steps down to the gravel path hedged by azaleas that dot the walkway in cotton candy hues during spring and summer. A fire pit becomes a gathering spot for s'mores and hot dog roasts, and a swing near the water's edge gives guests a front row view of lake life. Two nearby kayaks are available for use, and the private dock can be enjoyed by anglers, boaters, and swimmers, alike. Just across the channel is Jumping Rock, a giant boulder that rises ten feet out of the water's edge. Accessible only by boat, Jumping Rock attracts young and old to climb its ladder to the top and then take the plunge. It provides a great backdrop for a summer photo, and even couples have been photographed jumping off in their wedding attire! The GPS coordinates are 33.37912365108089, -83.18434546931657.
Guests might find few reasons to go beyond the driveway of Sunset Evening during their stay. For those who want to sample local life, plenty of restaurants and retails shops are a 20-minute drive away. Harmony Crossing is home to some of our favorites, including Chef's Delight Jamaican Cafe and 44 Marketplace. In neighboring Greensboro, stock up at Publix, enjoy breakfast at Café 44, or try one of the blends from PJ's Coffee of New Orleans. We also recommend visiting the historic districts of Eatonton and Greensboro for a unique shopping and dining experience. Be sure to check out the local events, festivals, and farmer's markets, too!

My family wanted a nice lake getaway for a few days of fishing. This house fit the bill. We rented a boat that we docked at the house dock and also fished off of the dock. We were very pleased with this property. We would most definitely rent this property again.

This is a lake rental on the upswing. The owner is obviously upgrading the property. They’ve installed a concrete patio and landscaping. The patio is large with a grill and family sized table and fire pit. It allowed the kids to play and stay out of the pine straw and dirt. The dock is made of modern decking so no splinters and it’s layer out so there’s always shade on one side or the other. Inside the house there’s plenty of room for all. The kids especially liked the upstairs loft. We found the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals, with plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The internet service was fantastic and uses Roku for their streaming service. The best area for us was the screened porch with the view of the lake. Early morning coffee, evening meals and relaxing time was in that area. The sunsets were spectacular! Would I rent it again….heck yes!!
