About this cottage rental
This stunning boutique lakehouse accommodates eight guests with a fully equipped kitchen, private waterfront, bon fire pit, dual wood burning stoves, and much more! A scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive from the GTA, it’s the perfect winter retreat, and family vacation destination for a getaway. Positioned with western exposure, you’ll enjoy all day sunshine on the clear and pristine water of Lake Kash.
Welcome to Lake Life on Kash! If you’re looking for privacy and relaxation, look no further than Lake Life on Kash, a pristine gem in the heart of Ontario's vacation paradise. One of the nicest, most private four-season properties in the area.
More, we’re just 20-minutes from Bon Echo Provincial Park for those wanting to go to do some serious hiking. Kashwakamak Lake is also part of the Mississippi River Canoe Route with portage access to neighbouring Marble, Mississagagon and Mazinaw Lakes, so go ahead and paddle through exploring rolling Canadian Shield terrain.
The interior of the property has been thoughtfully decorated to provide you with a true boutique cottage to enjoy in its entirety. The exterior has a large and diverse 1.33-acre lot with multiple areas to enjoy. A view for miles from the dock, and a bon fire pit area overlooking the water’s edge. Bistro lighting lights up the lower outdoor area so you can enjoy being outside all day and night. Lakeside dock with sandy shore that gradually goes into refreshing, clear, deep water, where you can jump in and swim away. Or just set out a towel to soak up the morning sun or launch a kayak or canoe.
The main level comfortably sleeps four guests across two bedrooms while the lower-level bedroom includes a queen-sized bed with ensuite for two with all amenities. All bed linens and pillows are provided.
An open plan living and dining area complete in all wooden planks and double-height wall-to-wall windows on the main level provides tons of natural daylight and expansive views of the lake. Convenient forced air furnace controlled by a Nest thermostat, and dual wood burning stoves in the cottage for you and friends to get really cozy, even on the coldest of nights.
The kitchen comes fully equipped with all that’s needed to create a delicious meal to share with family and friends. Chef-quality kitchen essentials include stemware, knives, cast iron and stainless pans, and much more. Appliances include a stainless steel fridge with fresh water dispenser and ice maker, gas stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, and kettle.
There is one full bathroom on the main level with a walk-in shower and a second full bathroom on the lower level with a Netherlands inspired clawfoot tub and walk-in shower. All bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.
Two elevated decks surround the cottage for outdoor lounging, barbequing and wine enjoyment in the screened in porch. You’ll find a Broil King BBQ for all your grilling needs.
The lower level has a walkout and boasts wall-to-wall windows that provide tons of natural daylight and views of the lake and property. This lower-level living area is great for relaxing with a large couch, a futon sofa bed, and a 75-inch 4K Smart flat screen television, boardgames and a wood burning stove.
Given that the cottage is surrounded by forest, the cell phone signal is weak, but still receives calls and messages on the Rogers/Bell network.
During the summer months, the waterfront has a shallow sandy beach area and dock for diving, swimming, and relaxing. Fishing on Kash is also excellent with Small and Large Mouth Bass, Northern Pike and Pickerel in the Lake. Please note that the dock is elevated for the winter months from early-November to late-May.
We aim to provide you with a wonderful retreat. Consider this your lake house for the duration of your stay! We hope you'll feel relaxed, comfortable, and happy. We don't believe in rigid rules or requirements that restrict you, instead, we trust that you treat our cottage as you would your own. We will offer you complete privacy, but we are also available to help and guide you at any point during your stay.
Firewood: Please bring your own for the bon fire outside. The firewood beside the house is seasoned hardwood for heating the home with the wood stoves only!
BBQ: Please bring your own propane tank.
Water: Water is drawn into the home from a natural spring deep drilled well system, then goes through a water conditioning unit, get softened, and purified. Water is 100% drinkable, fresh and potable which tastes absolutely refreshing. Regularly tested every quarter.
Driveway: The driveway is large enough for about 8-10 cars, or a few boat trailers. The driveway is monitored 24/7 with motion sensing cameras.
Winter Storms: Cottage roads are well maintained; however, we highly recommend you exercise caution when driving during the winter months, and bring an all-wheel drive vehicle with snow rated tires.
Please ensure that the cottage is left in the condition in which it was found in order for all guests to enjoy the cottage to its fullest.

My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed 3 wonderful nights here. Weather was glorious and the lake was clean and refreshing -- we swam and used both the canoe and the kayaks every day. The Lake is big and fun to explore. The fire pit outside was perfect -- the fairy lights above made the place feel magical.
The cottage itself was incredibly clean and fairly well appointed. We loved the downstairs suite and enjoyed the big TV for some Olympics viewing. The kitchen was fantastic and had almost everything we needed (we only missed having a large sieve for pasta and some plastic glassware to take to the dock). The bedrooms were comfortable and the 2 (!) bathrooms were clean and well stocked.
Wifi was strong but no cell signal at all for 3 or our 4 people. Tip for future renters: screenshot the code and instructions to open the door while you still have cell reception!!
Having to bring our own propane for the bbq was one of the very few downsides. We were also asked to take the garbage with us when we left, which was okay, but we went to the nearest dump, which requires membership cards and so weren't allowed to leave it and had to find another dump. Something for other renters to keep in mind. Otherwise, we had a fantastic time.
Suthan was responsive and pleasant to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was great! Just a group of friends looking to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet for a few days. The lake was beautiful. The dock (when sunny) and screened in porch (when it rained) were our favorite spots!
Would definitely go back!

We had a fabulous stay! Suthan is a great host and we were all comfy in his clean and beautifully situated cottage. The lake was refreshing and clear...great for swimming and loaded with fish! Gorgeous stars can be viewed from the dock on a very quiet part of the lake. Bonfires easily host large gatherings. A great end to the summer!!!
