Beautiful large house right on the beach with amazing sunsets every evening. The neighborhood is quaint and mostly quiet except for some weekend parties. The local manager Xavier was extremely helpful and helping us obtain a cook that would come in cook for us, organize excursions, and fix any problems that arose. All in all a great place if you want a relaxing stay in a beach house.

This is a great house in a great location, right on the beach in a quiet neighborhood in Melaque. The beachfront setting is fantastic, with your own palapa and enclosed sandy area. The only thing missing (that would make this house over the top) is a small pool to cool down.
We enjoyed dinners in the palapa from a cook we hired, walks through the neighborhood for coffee or breakfast, even massages on the beach. All in all a great time.

The house was a great fit for our group. Javier, the property manager was super helpful is getting us settled. The teenagers loved skim boarding on the beach and we had as much fun watching them. Stunning sunsets, good food close by at the Frog, spa at Silvi's for massages and small shop next door for necessities...perfect! Thanks for everything...

Beautiful beachfront location. Open kitchen and outdoor dining was perfect for our big family. House guide provided beforehand gave key details to make logistics easy. House manager was very responsive. Music noise from a close by resort is only complaint - bring ear plugs to sleep.
Would book again!

Responsive property manager and on-site manager, Javier & his wife, Sylvia, very helpful. Spent most of our time under palapa with a magnificent ocean view & lucky enough to see 2 whales. Very hot & humid while there, so 1 of 3 couples had to sleep off kitchen for a breeze & therefore had very little privacy.

The check in was a breeze, Javier was there waiting for us. He was extremely helpful. If you like a vacation where Mexicans also spend their holidays, then this is a great location. Lots of food options. The Frog restaurant closed early for Christmas Eve, but they made us a fabulous dinner to go!! A small tienda across the street for milk, soda, ice cream etc.. The house was perfect for our family. Eight people, three generations. Could have accommodated one more couple comfortably.
The house is on a beautiful beach, a 20 minute walk to Barra de Navidad and a 10 minute walk to downtown Melaque.

The beach side of the home was where we spent all our time. The sunsets were great. The waves were wow. Highly recommended

We had a group of 8 stay (from 11 years to 67)at Casa Zafiro at the end of February 2015. It was, exactly, as advertised. Dealing with the owners, Lisa and Patrick, was great as they were very forthcoming, honest and accommodating. Lisa mentioned in a email that this was 'a very special place'. I'd have to completely agree. Javier, the property manager, met us promptly at the arrival time, walked us through the Casa and the rest was just 7 days of wonderful Mexican relaxation. The house is modest but clean, big, cool, and feels like a house on the beach should. The Casita rooms were spacious, the outdoor palapa shower was excellent and the kitchen was very well laid out for a big group to work together in. The beach side of the property is where the real magic happens. The yard is beautifully constructed and being right on the beach is so fantastic. We ate every meal under the Palapa and spent every day playing in the waves and laying under the two huge property umbrellas on the excellent assortment of beach chairs. There were also 5 bikes that came with the house the we used every single day. Loved cruising the community on them. Overall it was truly a wonderful experience.
Pros: Quiet south location of Melaque and beach area, two big main bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms, bikes, great kitchen, 2 fridges, Wi-Fi, fantastic beachfront yard.
Cons: Waves can be bigger and beach a bit steep (we loved them but some people might have to go down the beach a bit - not a big deal really), hmmmm, having trouble finding cons.

We stayed at this house for a week in late March 2014, and couldn't have been happier. Plenty of space for our group of ten young professionals (four couples and two singles). We LOVED being right on the beach, and ate breakfast and dinner on the patio almost every day. It was so nice to be away from usual touristy Mexican vacation spots, yet without sacrificing proximity to an airport (very easy drive - we rented a small car, which was nice for grocery shopping, too). There are bikes and boogie boards to use, and a really fun, steep surf... wish I knew how to skimboard, but had a great time watching the locals anyway. The fully-equipped kitchen made cooking easy, but be sure you take a few trips into town for dinner, too... fantastic tacos on every corner. Hope to return to this spot!
