We had only booked a one-night stay to do the Great Ocean Road, all through our evening we were musing that we wished we had been able to spend more time in Aireys Inlet just to be able to enjoy the hotel. When the room was first booked, we assumed that it would be nothing more than a clean room and bathroom to rest and reset on the road - we arrived to what looked like a stunning spa resort! The lady we spoke to at check-in was lovely and warm, was happy to give us plenty of information about the area and then handed us our key for the room. As soon as we opened the door to the room, our jaws hit the floor and we almost thought we had to go back to the reception because we'd accidentally been given someone else's suite. Nope, it was ours! The rooms were bright and warm, wonderful decor, a bed so comfy we were almost late for check-out. There was a wonderful cocktail kit (complete with spirit, garnish, syrups, juice, etc) the room also came with a Manhattan shaker, coup glasses and tradition hawthorn strainer, bar spoon and jigger, there was a kettle, toaster, and coffee pod machine. The bathroom had a WONDERFUL waterfall shower with beautiful tiling and basin sink. We were almost sad to be going to dinner with friends away from the premises as everything was so lovely! Thank you again to the wonderful staff who took care of us, we had such an amazing stay! If you find yourself in Aireys Inlet - be good to yourself and check into Sunnymead Hotel!

A delightful stay at a charming and vibrant hotel. The team were super friendly and easy going. We were offered a dinner promotion on arrival for the onsite hotel. We are very glad we took up the offer and made the booking. The food outstanding. All the little details were thought of inside the room. Huge fan of the all the sustainable touches. Overall it was a very pleasant and comfortable stay. We look forward to returning soon to continue to explore the Great Ocean Road region.

We decided on an overnight escape down the beach, last minute. The hotel was lovely even providing a yoga mat to use for a great start to the day. Although the weather wasn't suitable for swimming, the pool and spa look great!

WOW!! This place is super cute! We loved the modern-retro theme ( I'm not a designer so I really don't know what else to call it). Everything was clean and updated and new. The room was so welcoming from the beautiful furnishings,expresso machine, blue tooth speaker to the super cozy seating area with floor rug. Easy access to incredible Surfside walk. Head East and go to the end where it meets the beach.(2miles, not the first beach access) and then continue to where the beach is split by the gorge. It's just beautiful! We highly recommend this as a best place a to stay on The Great Ocean Road!

Clever hipster revamp of old style motel. Money spent well on nice bathroom and quality beds and furnishings. Breakfast not worth the $38 price tag - loaf of bread, 2 small pats of butter, small jar jam and 2 small juices. For the price tag of over $400 for one night it was overvaluing its offering by at least $150 compared to all other accommodation we stayed in over a 10 day road trip. It was nice but it wasn’t a $400 night property by any means. Can recommend as comfortable and cute but cant recommend the value.

We enjoyed our overnight stay at Sunnymead. The location was really close to the beach with a few good food options nearby. Aesthetically the hotel was gorgeous and we enjoyed the comfy bed, coffee machine and swivel chairs. The pool area was really nice. We did have an issue with the shower flooding which we had to spend quiet some time mopping up with towels as theres no reception after around 4:30pm so we couldn't ask for a mop. The pillows were a bit too thick and hurt my neck. Apart from that it was a pleasant stay.

Absolutely loved it. A warm welcome, fabulous retro vibes and a bright and stylish room with a comfortable bed. We only had one night there but we're planning to return in warmer weather to take advantage of the pool and spa facilities. Spectacular coastline nearby. Really, this place is such a treat.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was better than expected. The rooms are cute but modern, everything was really clean and tidy. We had everything we needed and the staff were great. The only annoying thing was the shower leaked a lot and the water taps were missing the leaver to make adjusting the temperature easier. It probably matches the aesthetic better but it made using the taps really frustrating when your hands are wet. Other than that it was a beautiful room and was close to the lighthouse, dinner and breakfast was all within walking distance.

Great stay at Sunnymead - a modern upgrade with a retro feel that had everything we needed for a weekend away. The place was clean, spacious and comfortable.
