Host was attentive and hospitable. They even had fresh friendship bread for our family to enjoy. The kids loved it! Cute primitive woodsy decor through the home making it very cozy feeling. Deck and balcony were well maintained. Great experience!

The place was a bit nicer then I expected from the pictures. It is tucked between some other buildings but still private.

Let's start off positive. This place is super clean. The owners answered all our questions and was super prompt. Very hospitable. The amenities A++ seriously go above and beyond for their guests. They leave a personalized note for their guests. And a complimentary loaf of cinnamon bread. So here's the things we struggled with. We based picking this cabin off of the pictures and reviews. I discussed it with the owners after I booked. I thought this was a fishing cabin but it is fishing themed. That's on me for not understanding. They do have some great sights and fishing spots less than a mile away. And the views were beautiful. So this part was my fault and my mistake but still had the stuff we wanted locally, so not a big deal. I did assume that it was more succluded based off of reviews. It is surrounded by neighbors and attached to another cabin by a porch. Thankfully everyone was quiet. And super respectful. I mostly wanted quite because I know we are loud. I have 2 dogs that are friendly but bark at everything and 3 kids one of them special needs and the youngest a toddler. So they can be loud. Still this is mostly on us for being a noisy group we just hope we didn't bother anyone too much. The only true problem we had was space. Being a family of 5 we struggled with sleeping arrangements. It says it sleeps 5 but I would definitely say 4 max. My kids don't sleep well together and it was a tight fit. For the 2 nights 3 days that we were there. That being said t

3 of us stayed 4 nights here and all thought that the house was very clean and well put together. And appreciated the privacy and silence that this home delivered. We all slept very well and were very comfortable aswell as being within or just over half an hour to Port Clinton or surrounding areas. If we get back out that way we will be staying again. Thank you!

We booked this rental for one night due to the nice location close to Maumee Bay State Park. Upon arrival we felt the listing photos and description did not accurately represent the home's setting. For example, the rental lacked privacy from the nearby neighboring home that had debris and inoperable vehicles in the yard. The outside living space and indoor floors and furniture were dirty. We did not complete our stay and contacted the host immediately who provided a prompt refund.

This place was the perfect getaway! It's directly across the street from Howard Marsh, and a short drive to Magee Marsh, which made it perfectly convenient for a birding trip. We were so pleased with the host's communication before and during our stay. The house was clean and comfortable. We purchased bottled water at a store nearby because of a slight "well water" taste we weren't accustomed to, but that wasn't a big inconvenience since there are stores nearby. We would happily stay here again, and really appreciated being able to bring our dogs. There was plenty of room to set up two extra large crates without them being in the way. We had a great time!

Very nice, quiet little property close to birding hot spots, Lake Erie, and Toledo. Clean and nicely decorated. Complimentary cinnamon bread was delicious and saved us a trip to the grocery for breakfast! Host was very friendly and communicative about everything.
Only word of warning is that the well water does have a metallic taste, which apparently is common for the area. Host says that it has been tested and is safe, and has provided a filtering pitcher that removes most of the taste. It is a little slow, though, so if you plan on drinking gallons of water you should bring a jug of your own :)

From the outset communication with Rebecca our host was excellent. We knew the property was close to Ottawa & Magee reserves but she advised us of the newer developed Howard’s Marshes across from the property. Information by email and in the property too about nearby stores and restaurants. We ate locally at Bono’s tavern on Saturday enjoying a cool pint after a long hot day walking.
We were looking for a quiet getaway for 2n to be able to walk and enjoy our surroundings We were delighted with the location of property to 4 nearby wildlife reserves.
The property had a rustic charm that was comfortable and cosy with views over nearby fields from the balcony off the bedroom. As this was a belated wedding anniversary getaway we were touched by the celebration cake left for us.
Kitchen facilities enabled us to cook supper and breakfasts easily and the there were lots of thoughtful touches evident around the property to make our stay more enjoyable…. Yes we had forgotten bug spray, and there was some we could use.
We would find it easy to book to stay again if exploring the area further.

Everything was perfect, loved the little home and the area to visit!! Lots of wonderful nature places. Only improvement would be the mosquitoes but they were all in the area, my guess from the marshes.

The locations is good but this is a work in progress premise. Pest control is desperately needed for ants and spider-webs all over. The property not not at all cleaned after the prior occupants vacated 36 hrs before we rented it. Used sheets and towels lying around. The beds were not made and we had to start with washing and making the beds. The owner had neither visited in between nor contacted us for check in info. the house was left unlocked when we arrived. the property has yellow well water that we were not convinced is good for consumption. The make-shift counter-top in the kitchen was not tightly screwed on and led to us being startled when it fell and the screws poked the palm.
With proper attention to basic things this property does have a lot of potential though not currently suitable.

Property was a cute little place. My sister had rented from them before and loved it. We did too. Only down fall not on the water. But if you love big farms. Then it's perfect on the back and upper deck especially for coffee. There is a great big generation farm that sits behind the house that is fields for what seems like miles.

Exactly as described and I had an amazing time! The special touches and extra household items were very thoughtful and better than any previous trips I have experienced. A great location for fishing, birding and exploring nature! Nearby grocery and restaurants with fresh perch. Birds and squirrels joined my morning cofffee on the balcony and there was a plentiful peir nearby for my teenage son. I will definitely be returning here to spend a relaxing weekend by the lake. Rebecca was a great host!

Our booking was just as described. Very pleasant and cute. Fresh baked bread was left and the communication was great. Only thing lacking was extra toilet paper.
