A perfect Tuscan retreat where you can choose to rest or explore all that this amazing area has to offer!

An idyllic location with a magnificent view of San Gimignano over a stunning Tuscan panorama. Florence and Sienna are within easy reach. The property has been lovingly and sympathetically restored and is comfortable and spacious even with our group of 5 adults. Fabio is a charming, welcoming but discreet host.

There is nothing not to like.

The loveliest time!

We had the loveliest stay at Podere le Grotte! Everything was perfection, and it was like being in the most beautiful painting. My kids loved the pool, and we loved the stunning scenery, the comfortable apartment, and gorgeous patio. We had everything we needed, and felt so comfortable and taken care of. We would happily return!

The only thing I can think of is that the bugs were quite bad while we were there, but that's not Podere le Grotte's fault! Some citronella candles for the patio might have been a nice touch, but probably not necessary for most travellers.

All in all, we really enjoyed it. If we ever came back to the area we'd book again.

We weren't really sure what to expect but Podere Le Grotte exceeded our expectations handily. Lots of space for our family of four, very comfortable and the location and views couldn't be beat. The pool was nice after hot Tuscan days. And the air-conditioning--on from 6 pm to 8 am--was very effective.

Only (minor) complaints: the wifi was very slow; and the kitchen could have been a bit better stocked with essentials for cooking. We ate lunches out and dinners in every day and there were barely any kitchen cooking staples included as there are at most rentals of this kind.

At Podere Le Grotte we had the best time. Staying in a really nice flat with 2 bedrooms and stunning views. It’s a quiet place and safe surroundings that really made us relax. You need a car to get around, but San Gimignano is 10 minutes away. Certaldo 20 min. away. Florence, Pisa, Volterra, Siena, Montepulciano - all within reasonable driving distance. Host is so nice and we can only give our warmest recommendations to come stay here.

spacious characterful apartment . lovely rural setting and easy to get to nearby towns . well equipped private terrace available for each apartment. Shutters on the bedroom windows made the room cool and dark perfect for a good nights sleep

The location is just excellent - splendid views. Also the apartment was very enjoable - comfortable, spacious and well equiped. We enjoyed private terrace with a grill, swimming pool and deckchairs. The host was caring and even prepared a welcome gift. :)

The apartment could be better equiped in some basic commodities such as salt, sugar or coffee. Other than this - the place really does not have any drawbacks.

Amazing Place

We had an amazing experience. Fabio is such a kind host that immediately make us feel at home. The view from our apartment was spectacular. The rooms were clean and spacious and we enjoyed coocking in the equipped kitchen. We really felt lucky to stay in a beautiful place like this and we truly recommend it.

Amazing, atmospheric place! I recommend to everyone who wants to get a relax, a full feeling of a whistle and at the same time the opportunity to examine all the sights of Tuscany, the distance from La Grotte 50-80 km, almost to any significant place.
