Delighted with our stay, we felt like we were living on a ranch and enjoyed the sight of the beautiful horses. Chearl was wonderful with response time and quite informative. Three Rivers was a cute small town which is conveniently close to Sequoia National Park. We were amazed to say the least and we can’t wait to come back!

Great location for access to Sequoia National Park and local restaurants in Three Rivers.

My family and I came to Three Rivers for a trip to Sequoia National Park, and we had a wonderful stay at Chearl & Linda's place. The location is beautiful, on a horse ranch, and we walked the property to catch sight of the lovely animals and mountainous surroundings. The place itself stayed nice and cool, despite being over 100 degrees outside most days, with dedicated AC units in the living area and bedroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The extra snacks and drinks were much appreciated as well. Our hosts were so helpful and responsive as well. I would highly recommend Chearl & Linda's place to any family visiting the area!

Cute and spacious place tucked away from main road. Close to restaurants and small grocery store. Kitchen area was nice to prepare meals. It was also nice to have a separate bedroom in addition to pull out sofa in the living room, which was comfortable. Well air-conditioned-stayed cool in the hot summer. Very cozy. Enjoyed our stay!

My husband, 10 year old son and I had a wonderful stay at the Cowboy's Hideout. Coming from a farm in Northeast Georgia, it was the perfect place to call home while we explored the magic of the Sequoia National Forest. The hosts could not have been more welcoming, kind and accommodating. It was heartwarming to watch the new momma and foal run and work the ring for the first time. The restaurants in the area were top notch.
Please take some time and read Mr. Earl McKee’s books while you are there. Their family’s history in the area is a deep and resonant reminder of the constant divisions between those who wish to commodify and gentrify and those who simply hope to protect, hold on to and afford to be buried in the mountainous tombs of their ancestors. It’s a story that’s old as time and beautifully illustrated in Mr. McKee’s books.
Being from Georgia, we were up 3 hours earlier than everyone else and had the Sequoia Nat’l Park to ourselves. It was magical and truly chilly in the mornings. The bears (Mama and baby cub included), deer, turkeys, song birds, horses, giant trees, fern groves - I can’t describe it other than to say that it was like something out of a fairytale. I can’t wait for our next trip out to Cowboy’s Hideout.:)

We stayed here for one night after a drive from San Diego, with the goal of getting into sequoia the next morning. It was great! My kids loved the openness of the property. We could wander around and look at the horses and a neighbor was super friendly and let my daughters pet her mare. The indoors met all our needs and the snacks were appreciated. It was a short drive in the morning and set us up for the day. I didn’t see a hot tub which I thought was listed, but it was also 98 degrees so we didn’t need it. Thanks for having us!

Charming horse property. We enjoyed meeting the horses. The AC was a little tricky to figure out. Lots of places to eat - Pizza Factory, Gateway, River View, Ol Buckaroo. My daughter asked to come back next time so she can see all her horses. Perfect base camp for the Sequoias. The stars at night were magnificent.

From reading the reviews and then engaging with the hosts, you know this is going to be great before even getting there. The Cowboy Hideaway is a special spot on a ranch rich with familial history and beautiful, strong horses along with some sheep, dogs and Scottish ground squirrels. The unit is perfect. The right amount of space, amenities and thematic decor that makes you, welp, own your inner cowboy. And for those who are older or disabled, there are no steps to navigate, which is a rare find when renting vacation spots, (we have a disabled family member).
The hosts could not be more responsive and couldn’t be nicer. You’ll be hard pressed to have a better experience with any future BnB owner. It was really a great way to start the trip. We were in great hands and they were quick to help, give suggestions and just make us feel welcome.
If your aim is to go the Sequoias, Three Rivers is perfect. If your aim is to stay in Three Rivers, the Cowboy Hideaway is perfect. Enjoy the horses, the amazing sounds of the frogs, owls and crickets at night, and the bright constellations above you. This place will stay as a wonderful memory to any guest. I already miss it.

Booked this for my sons birthay since he loves horses. What an awesome place! Plenty of space for a family of four. There is a pull out couch that sleeps two in the living room and a queen bed in the room. Full kitchen, shower and even an enclosed patio. Views were spectacular! Owner was very accommodating and responsive. I will definitely book in the future.

Amazing stay with wonderful hosts!
My daughter and I take quick mother-daughter bonding roadtrips a few times a year. We always bring her dog, so we needed to find a place that was dog friendly. We chose this location because it had a little yard and seemed like a very unique experience. It did not disappoint! We had an amazing time. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, I loved how we were able to park right in front of the property, just steps from the door. It made packing and unpacking easily. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect for our needs. My daughter was able to walk to the coffee shop and relax on the property with her dog while I rode my bike to the Sequoia NP and around Three Rivers from the house. My daughter and her dog were able to walk around the property and meet the horses.
We highly recommend this unique property and would stay here again.
@hosts- Thank you for an outstanding experience!

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! Everything was perfect and clean. The distance from the house to the entrance of Sequoia National Park was a short distance which made things great! The Pizza Factory down the road was DELICIOUS!

We loved our stay at the Cowboy Hideout. Every morning, my wife and I took our dog for a stroll took see the horses and turkeys on the property. He’s a bird dog, so this was the highlight of his day. Every evening, we’d fall asleep to the peaceful sound of Coyotes howling and frogs singing. Chearl’s attention to detail was much appreciated, ranging from providing the shower soaps that I always forget to bring on trips, to a charming little gift basket when you arrived. It was a lovely touch on top of a wonderful weekend.

Our family of four enjoyed the location being so close to the Sequoia National Park - we got an early start and beat the crowds. Also, the kids had an awesome time bumming around the ranch and seeing the horses. Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. We loved it here. Inside accommodations reminded me of our farm house back home, but newer and nicer
