A nicely kept property with a caring owner. Very much enjoyed my stay here. Self check in was simple and explained in advance.

Nice stay, like staying at a friend's house. Conveniently located near Mann Center, where I attended a concert. Will stay there next time I have Mann Center tickets. Thank you!

Yin is an excellent hostess! Our room was very quiet and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Just what I needed since I got up before sunrise to compete in the Women’s Philly Tri. Keep in mind out of courtesy you do need to leave your shoes at the foyer rack but I do that in my home too-so no biggie for me. There is a $30 cleaning fee to be paid to Yin at check in (additional cost to what you pay on Hotels.com but worth it)-keep in mind. I felt very safe in her home-lock box and code for each guest room. It was a perfect night’s stay and had everything I needed for a very restful night. I will definitely return as a guest again.

Yin, the host, was very communicative and attentive throughout our stay. She gave clear instructions for self check-in and check-out. Quiet area with lots of on-street parking available, and conveniently located near the Mann Center for concerts and events. Be sure to read the fine print during booking, because there is a $30 cleaning fee owed to the host at the time of your stay. Amenities and decor are basic, but the bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy. You may want to bring some extra bed pillows, as there were several accent pillows on the bed, but only two sleeping pillows provided. Overall, I would consider a one-night stay here again, especially due to the host’s communication and the house being conveniently located to the Mann.

The proprietor was super-helpful and friendly. We had a lot of privacy and appreciated the advice regarding nearby places to see and eat.

This was a really lovely stay. While it lacked a couple amenities- ie a TV and the ability to control the temperature of your own room- it was very quiet and clean and the host Yin was super kind and accommodating. The amenities it lacked did not dampen my opinion of the house at all. It was also perfect for a weekend stay in Philly as it was affordable and very close to all the activities we wanted to do. I would absolutely stay again.

Perfect for our event at the Mann Center. Walkable, definitely hope to stay again

The owner did a great job of communicating how to access the property and following up to make sure that I was able to check in without any issues. The room and en suite were immaculate and well stocked.

Never check in, confirmation stated shared bathroom, nothing in the site said anything about sharing Bathroom.
Need my money back.

The properties location is a key attribute. My experience focused on the properties self-sufficient environment setting. Folks who stay there have facilities to cook for themselves. Refrigerators and cookware is there for use and you are expected to clean-up afterwards. It was a fine location to relax after visiting a few notable venues in the Philadelphia area.

Host communicated quickly and clearly with check in directions. Property was very clean close to town. All good!

Miss yin. Is a great host and i have no issue going there again

Very comfy king bed & private bath. Old home, drafty & cool at night. Bring your own foodstuffs & plan to fight for space in the fridge. Cluttered kitchen & lack of dishes & utensils. No napkins or paper towels. Private free parking was a plus, neat neighborhood with lots of stately old homes, lots of parks nearby. Good communication with manager.

Not a hotel or Vrbo. LITERALLY just a room in someone's house. It started w/ getting a sketchy text asking to send photos of credit card & ID before issuing pass code to front door claiming to need it for incidentals. After several back & forth messages/phone calls with Hotels.com & location, we got it resolved. Room was pre-paid & there are zero amenities, so I'm not sure what "incidentals" they need my credit card for, but I know it's standard practice in hotels so I was making a fuss about sending sensitive credit card info to a text. Upon arrival, there is absolutely zero signage to let you know you're in the right place. You have to depend on address. If you arrive after dark, you would be hard pressed to find it because there is no outside lighting to help you see the address. Upon walking up the driveway, the sidewalk is blocked by overgrown hedges making you walk through the yard. Upon entry there is a note telling you to take off your shoes, I've never had to take my shoes off before. The entry area is in disarray with shoes in the hall and views into a cluttered kitchen & living room area. In the room there is no TV, microwave, fridge. If you want some noise in the background while preparing to go out, you just have to use your phone. Then there were NO sleeping pillows on the bed. There were 2 decorative shams & throw pillows. In the closet there was an extra blanket & 1 sleeping pillow for the King bed. Only good thing, they had a good stock of hygiene items.

Had a sweet stay! Opted for the room with a shared bathroom, never had an issue where there wasn’t access to a bathroom when I needed one. Host was welcoming and considerate to our needs. Would stay again!

The host, Yin was wonderful! She was very attentive, kind and welcoming. Met me at the property to walk me through everything when I arrived and checked in with me throughout the stay. The master bedroom was AWESOME! Very roomy and clean with tons of closet space. If you are sensitive to cold atmospheres, I stayed during the winter season and the house was quite cold in the evenings and early morning making it uncomfortable to sleep. WITH THAT SAID, I can tell it is a great place to stay during the summer, especially with the beautiful backyard.

Beautiful remodeled stone home in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent hosts. Will return.

This was a very price-conscious, clean, safe place to stay while we visited colleges in the area. There is street parking and it's perfectly safe. The wifi is fast and free. The security is excellent. The owner is really lovely and goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for your stay!

The hostess is great. Very pleasant and accommodating. Very easy access driving to downtown from this location (15 min) without paying high downtown hotel prices.

This was a wonderful little house to stay in. The host was friendly and accommodating. If I go back to Philly, this is where I'll happily stay each time. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend staying with Yin at Fairmount House. She was so attentive and kind - even bought me some milk for my tea and left me goodies like fresh fruit as well as all the basics like coffee and tea. It was a very quiet environment in a lovely, safe, walkable area of town. Overall, I'd highly recommend - way better than a hotel, in my opinion.

We had a wonderful stay while we were here. Our host Yin was super accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed to have a safe and comfortable stay. Most notably she made sure we understood how the door locking system worked and that we were comfortable in our rooms. Everything was very clean and tidy. Location is good - 5 min drive from the Mann Center. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely come back here again!

I loved everything about my stay at Fairmount House! Yin was so welcoming and hospitable! I felt very safe and secure staying there. I stayed to attend a concert and it was only a 6 min drive to the venue. So if you are attending a concert at The Mann Center, I would highly recommend staying at The Fairmount House! ☺️

Our stay at the Fairmount House was very comfortable. The master bedroom with the private bedroom was ideal for the weekend getaway that we took while going to a concert nearby at the Mann Center. The walk itself to the venue is about 30 mins but very quick by Uber if you don't have a car. The host was very kind and hospitable. I would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you!

I needed a cheap and quiet place to stay while visiting a friend and this was totally what I needed. The proprietor is very friendly and the neighborhood of the house is very good esp since Philly is kind of sketchy in some places. They even had a spare toothbrush! A very good deal for the price.

Don't let the reviews keep you away from this diamond in the rough. It is a quaint BnB in an historic district minutes from The Mann. Yin is an excellent host and made sure all of our needs were met and even offered fresh breakfast each morning. It was very clean. We enjoyed out stay and will be booking here again!

The owner told us it’s a new business and wants to get as much feedback as possible. I can’t believe we lucked into such a wonderful place. Such a great host, so accommodating and comfortable in a great, beautiful area, not too far from down town and great food. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Absolutely must go to

This property was absolutely perfect location for my best friend and I to go see a concert at The Mann. We were able to do an early check in and get settled and then walk over to the concert. It was about a 20 minute walk. The neighborhood felt safe enough for us to walk home after too! We had a private room that locked and a shared bathroom. Everything was very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and we got a great night sleep. It was very quiet. In the morning we were given options for breakfast and the host cooked us some scrambled eggs. She was so nice and we sat in the kitchen and had wonderful conversation. Check in and check out was very easy. The host was super responsive and kind. I would absolutely recommend this property if you are looking for a good location and are willing to have a shared bathroom.

Overall poor service and poor stay on a mis advertised place. Walk in to a welcome front yard filled with trash.
"Private" Detached bathroom is actually a shared bathroom. Door did not have security lock. Breakfast nor coffee nor tea was available though advertised it was. Home is set to 78 in summer and hotter in room. Sheets were "forgotten" on bed, and no one was available to help or fix. I imagine sheets are normally provided.
Positives: Neighborhood relatively nice and lots of on street parking. Another positive was that the mattress (though sheetless) did have a memory foam topper and was not terrible.
I had low expectations, but they were not met.
