The house features a cozy “reading room” tucked between the dining room and kitchen, where guests can read, play games or listen to their favorite albums on the turntable.

Breathe in the sea and pine scented air, at Fazenda Do Pomar, a modern villa in the pinon and cork forests of upper Alentejo. The home sleeps 11, with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large open living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen designed for simple or elaborate meal preparation, depending on your mood. The house features a cozy “reading room” tucked between the dining room and kitchen, where guests can read, play games or listen to their favorite albums on the turntable. Three of the bedrooms open out onto the grassland and pool. There is an outdoor shower to enjoy on hotter days. The courtyard and pergola, anchored by an ancient olive, are the perfect backdrop for sunset watching and Portuguese meals.

Once upon a time, Fazenda Do Pomar was a fruit tree orchard, owned by 4 sisters and visited be the locals of the village of Cabrela for generations. Now, the 4 hectars, (10 acres) sloping hills, 100 olive trees and melodic cow bells are still a welcoming sanctuary for families and friends to soak up time together. Lounge by the pool, barbecue fish in the courtyard, watch sunsets and listen to the birdsong with your favorite people. Daytrip to Comporta (voted Europe’s best Beach) and Melides (darling of the design world) and come home to stargaze into the night with the chirping of crickets and stream frogs.


Fazenda do Pomar is 50 minutes from Lisbon, 40 minutes from Comporta and Melides, 30 minutes from Setubal. Beach towels, umbrellas and sand toys are included. Day trip itineraries are provided by your hosts. The estate features a washer and dryer, strong wifi, Bose Sound system, satellite TV, wood burning fireplace, induction stove and heated floors. The home features local and international artworks, locally made soaps from Ambar, and lush indoor plants. There is a garage available upon request.


This property is ideal for yoga retreats, small family reunions and remote workers.
