About this villa rental
Looking for somewhere for friends and family to take a wine-themed holiday in Chianti Classico? Look no further. This grand old villa is on the road between Panzano and Radda, right at the heart of these world-famous vineyards. You can even get to a winery by foot in less than five minutes – Molino di Grace is a short walk from the back garden. But there are many more nearby, La Filigare, Querceto di Castellina, Fontodi to name just a few, which offer tours, tastings and even cooking lessons.
Make time to wander the historic streets of the wine towns of Radda, Greve and Castellina, too. If you visit in summer you can experience the main Chianti Classico festival, which takes place in Greve each September. For a change of pace, Siena and Florence are just a half-hour’s drive.
You’ll be very comfortable in this former guesthouse. The entrance is as imposing as the villa; cross a courtyard into a large hall off which is a huge dining area and living room – just the place to host a private wine-tasting? They’re not your only living areas. On the first floor you’ll find a cosier lounge and dining room, and the kitchen, plus four spacious doubles with en-suite bathrooms.
Two bedrooms have doors to a balcony terrace. Or you could gather on the large patio beyond the sitting room, which has a shaded dining area. Steps lead from here to the garden, rolling lawns studded with cypress trees. Here you’ll find a large pool and sundeck – and the gate that leads to that neighbouring winery.
