About this apartment rental
Elegant and cozy apartment, a few steps from Corso Italia, in the heart of Catania.
Riva House has recently been the subject of a deep and careful renovation that has managed to elegantly combine the history of the interior and furnishings to current needs. The entrance, through a hallway, opens onto the living area, an elegant and large space which comes with a sofa, armchairs, a TV, a piano and the dining room, communicating through an ancient portal, furnished with antiques, table and chairs. The four bedrooms, equipped with balcony, are large and spacious, air-conditioned, furnished with queen-size bed, closets and antique furniture. Two bathrooms with shower and a toilet, all with bidet, washbasin, bathroom linen, hairdryer and electric fan heater, complete the layout.

Riva House is located in Via Pola, one of the most elegant areas of the city, in a strategic position, a few steps from Corso Italia, the city’s lounge, 10 min walk from Piazza Europa, a short distance from the sea (lava cliff) and the characteristic seaside village of San Giovanni li Cuti. A few steps away are also the bus and metro stops. The area is served by numerous bars, restaurants, pastry shops, supermarkets, shops and clothing stores.
Catania can boast a beautiful historical center, listed among the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Its architectural wonders, as well as the colorful street markets, the wild beauty of Mount Etna and the crystal-clear sea of the coasts will literally seduce you.
Among the others, the Cathedral of Sant’Agata (the city’s patron saint), Bellini theater, the street markets, Via Etnea (Catania’s most important and scenographic street), the wonderful Monastery of the Benedictines (home to the faculty of Human Sciences) and the Etna are really worth a visit.
And obviously, it is impossible not to mention Catania’s culinary tradition, with its typical arancini (fried rice balls), the iris (fried or baked stuffed bombs), Sant’Agata’s olivette (typical sweets made of almond paste and colored in green) and the famous brioches with granita.
For horse meat lovers, Via del Plebiscito with its typical street embers is really not to be missed. You can already smell the delicious aroma even from a long way off!
An unmissable stop-over just outside the city is the coast, and more specifically the beautiful Gulf of Acitrezza, where in 1881 Giovanni Verga set his best known novel, “I Malavoglia”.
The central station is 1.7 km away, while the airport is 7.9 km away. Catania Cathedral is a 38-minute walk away.

Location is close to the airport and surrounded by shopping. There a grocery store downstairs and a great bar to get coffee, desserts and snacks..It's an great central location to Taormina and Syracuse.
The apartment wws comfortable, clean and easy to get to. Parking is difficult, but that's all over. Overall, a pleasant stay.
5.0 / 5.0
What a great experience! The place is as stunning inside as it looks in the pictures. And the convenience! A block off Corso Italia where the hop-on-hop-off bus runs. A short few minutes walk to the Europa stop for the train and a few blocks' walk to the metro. Half a block to a grocery store. There is an old fashioned and tempermental elevator that could have appeared in an old Hitchcock movie.
