To start, I was told before booking that we would be able to check in early, as we were coming out of state for a wedding and wanted to shower and get ready for the wedding when we got there. We were told the cleaning lady may still be there, but we could still check in early and get ready. Sadly the cleaning lady was never informed of this. It was very awkward when we arrived, as she wasn’t expecting us and was cleaning the bathroom that was needed to shower and get ready. We ended up leaving and coming back after she left, so we were late and missed the wedding ceremony. When we arrived back after the reception, the entire place was flooded. There was a wet area on the ceiling and being a basement studio, it was likely something leaked from the first floor. When I messaged to report the flood, I was told where dry blankets were and cleaning supplies, but that’s it. Later I was asked if a faucet was running as if it we caused the issue. The only sink/shower in the place was in the bathroom. When we arrived back nothing was running, and I am 100% sure we left nothing running, as I was in the bathroom for over and hour doing my hair and makeup for the wedding reception, and was at the sink the entire time using the mirror, and I certainly would have noticed running water. I was never offered anything but a “sorry about your experience” after sleeping in a flooded room that I had paid for instead of choosing a hotel stay, which was clearly a mistake.

We were in town for a bridal shower and this location was perfect for our needs. The location was in a safe, quiet neighborhood, the bed and sofa bed were comfortable, and the host had included little perks like a stocked coffee bar & bathroom amenities (individually-wrapped toothbrushes, toothpaste packets, q-tips, etc.). We had a few requests come up during our visit and our host responded very quickly to take care of things for us. The only unfortunate issue we had was the last night of our stay, the people upstairs were talking loudly and listening to music until 3:00am. It would be helpful to have reminders posted about quiet hours after 10:00pm. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything, but other than that inconvenience, we had a good stay.

At the beginning, the steps and driveway was not cleared of snow for our entry. The temperature was very cold. And it was no thermostat to change. We found out through the owner that you had to tell Alexa to turn up heat. We did it didn’t seem to change. In the advertisement it said that we could use the washer dryer, and when we got there, it was locked. we did contact the owner and he gave us the code. With the microwave, making a strange noise and the coffee pot did not work. We did contact the owner and he allowed us to just pay for the one night and refund our money for the rest of the days minus fees and service. i’m sure if he’s new at the Vrbo, but I’ve stayed at a lot of different places and they’ve been a lot more welcoming.

All in all pretty good for the price. Should have more towels, extra blanket/comforter, outside door light. Mattress was ok, neighbors house a bit sketchy, and unfortunately upstairs customer had a baby and kids, and they were loud earlier than I usually wake up.
