Perfect cabin close to beach and anything you need great vacation spot

My family and I had an excellent week-long stay here. The location is only 10 minutes from Naples which we were already familiar with so we had no problem finding our way around and activities to enjoy with the kids. Everything we needed for cooking and such was available in the cabin. The fire pit was great for relaxing at night and making s’mores. Thank you!!

We enjoyed our time at the cabin. The cabin is small and has a nice deck overlooking the river. We found the owners very responsive. Answering our messages within an hour. We met several of the neighbors. They were all nice people. One lent us a sled so the grandkids could slide down the riverbank onto the river. The wood stove does an amazing job despite it’s small size. Because the stove burns the wood vertically and the door is small the wood cannot be very thick. If you will be there during cold weather you might want to bring a hatchet. We had to split some of the wood to get it in the stove. The owners had several bundles of wood there and recommended where to buy more. The recommended location has smaller sized wood in there bundles and was less expensive then other stores. Make sure you tell them you are heating your home with it so they don’t charge sales tax. Bring Surge strips with you. This is an older cabin and there aren’t a lot of electrical outlets. You will want the strips for charging your phones and other electronics.

This is a very new listing, so hopefully some of the issues we encountered will be rectified soon!
First, the positive: the price was good, and the location is good for exploring the Sebago Lakes region. In the summer, direct access to the river, and lakes it connects, would be a huge plus. New heat pump is a great addition, and can almost keep up with heating the main room. We also enjoyed the Nintendo with a bunch of vintage games.
However, there were some significant issues with this property. First off, cleanliness. There was dog hair on all the carpets, and on the chairs and the couch. There were piles of dust and dog hair under and between furniture. It was clear that the small, light coffee table had not been moved to vacuum beneath it. I got out the vacuum in the cabin and tried to vacuum again, but the vacuum cleaner was super old (1970’s maybe?), and did not have nozzle for getting into crevices, and had very little sucking power. So, vacuuming did little good.
We tried the middle bedroom first, and the bed had a distinct sour milk smell. The word “hell” was also scratched into the wall. The bedding was synthetic, with only a thin sheet covering the bare mattress - no mattress pad. We closed the door to that room, and tried the room closest to the river. It was a bit better - no smell! But also just a thin synthetic sheet right on the mattress. There were no covers on the comforters, leaving us to wonder if the entire comforters were really washed between each set of guests. Cotton bedding and mattress pads would be a big improvement!
The stove was also difficult to work with. It is a gas stove that seems to need new ignition switches. By the time the burners finally lit, the whole cabin smelled like gas and has to be aired out. The situation was much improved when we brought the lighter from the wood stove over and used it to light the burners/oven.
The water at the cabin has a distinct sulphur smell. Thankfully, filtered water is available from the fridge. Unfortunately, it comes out very cold, so making tea or cooking with that water takes a long time.
The cabin does technically sleep 11. However, in my opinion, it is too small for more than 4 people in the winter, maybe 6 in the summer. There are only 3 chairs at the small table. There are also two stools, that could be pulled up to the counter for eating, but larger groups would not be able to eat together. Also, more than one person can not fit in the bathroom.
