About this cabin rental
What started out as a project to make use of leftover logs from our log home turned into a tiny house! Cozy Log Cabin looking out on almost an acre of nature but just minutes from all the DC sites. Perfect for a single escape, a romantic getaway, a small family/group gathering, or a serene remote work location. 1/4 mile to bus and 1.5 miles to DC metro, plenty of free parking. We live in a log home next door - so happy to provide advice on sites/restaurants and directions. Sorry, no PPP (pets, parties, or puffing) :-)
The property is on .91 acres of land full of trees, creeks, deer, an occasional fox, and lots of birds - yet just 15 minute drive to DC and close to all the amenities, shopping, restaurants, movies, mini-golf, and of course the Nation's Capital!
Check-in: pull into the gravel driveway to the right of the main log home; door will be open; keys on the dining table.
Please send us a note when you check in and when you check out. Thank you!

Great tiny cabin in the woods, quiet, peaceful unique, hidden but steps away from highways and shopping. Great host, we enjoyed our stay, thank you!!!

We arrived, late evening, to an illuminated path drawing us to a picture perfect cabin. Surprisingly walked into a natural wood scent filled home. The cabin was clean, cozy and inviting. Sit on the deck and enjoy the view while waking up with some coffee. The cabin is a surrounded by lush trees. Explore the trails on the property. The wooden bridges lead you over the running water in a small creek below. One trail leads you to an appreciation station where you can sit on the tree logs and listen to the cicadas. We had a restful night’s sleep. Just what we needed as our flights were delayed. Thank you for sharing your tiny cabin. We look forward to our next stay.

We loved staying here in this tiny cabin. It’s very unique. Great location, enjoyed sitting on the deck and seeing all the wildlife. The farmers market in falls church was out standing. So much to do in the area.

Perfect location just far enough away from DC for our short time in the area.

We had a nice stay in this tiny cabin. The bed is very comfortable but is in an upstairs loft for those that might have issues with stairs but wasnt a problem for us. The concept of the bathroom is neat and creative. The bathroom has a shower door with the sink and toilet and shower in one. It was well maintained the property is nice with the trees and little paths. Although we didnt get to meet the owner he was very responsive to my questions. I would recommend it. Plus tgats the most comfortable sofa bed ive ever been on. I think my only recommendation would be to take out the coffee table. Trying to get to the bathroom at night with the sofa bed open was tricky, but we managed. Thanks for a great stay

The cabin was a fun, unique place to stay for a 2- night get-away with girlfriends. We had everything we needed. Spent lots of time on the back deck in serene woodsy setting. Host was very friendly and accomodating. It was a good location for a Wolftrap show!

Who knew one could find a rustic tiny log cabin about 10 miles from the bustle of busy Washington DC - but that is what you will find when staying in Tommy's cabin. The cabin sits off from and behind the main house surrounded by trees. The back of the cabin is tucked into the woods and from the back deck, I enjoyed sitting there, listening to the birds and watching them play in the creek that ran behind the cabin. I even saw a red fox trot through the woods as a sat on the deck reading a book. The inside of the cabin was very cozy and clean and had everything we needed. Tommy was non-intrusive when we arrived and when we saw him later outside, he was very friendly and personable. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much and look forward to staying there again.

We rented for 4 days for my brother and I. I came to town for a dental surgery.
The tiny log home was immaculate and a beautiful little home. The bed in the loft is very comfortable. The sofa/bed is miserable! First, it was
Impossible to get the sofa bed out. The owners were very open and easy to communicate with me. I’ll own that I was in my pjs and headed to bed, did not want a
stranger in a very small space with me. So I chose to just sleep on the couch. It was big enough for me and I’ve slept on many couches. Don’t do it here. Figure out the bed early if you are going to use it.
I will own also that I missed the area of the ad which refers to the home being on their property. Paraphrasing.
I didn’t miss the stove issue as I noted I didn’t see one but didn’t follow up with that question. There are a couple of hidden I believe may be propane stove topper things that we found after moving I believe was a cutting board. Or decor of some sort. Anyway… I wasn’t going to be eating a lot with dental surgery so again I owned that. And my brother didn’t cook so we were good.
Next up, the toilet/shower room is Not a bathroom. Not even like one in camp grounds (they put the toilets in another location) Nope not this one, you are showering with bare feet next to and with the person who used that toilet right before u. I’m sorry, these people were great, reasonably priced but I think their ad should be more forthcoming. And, limit loft tenants weight in their ad. Loc was great!

I came to dc for advocacy work at the Capitol and stayed just a 20 min drive away from conference hotel andIt was the best decision I have ever made. The tiny home is nestled in trees and you really forget you’re in a city. It was so peaceful and really made my 11th trip to do the best yet. Thank you Tommy and your wife for sharing such a beautiful place with us.
