About this house rental
Teheya Noppoi is a Shoshone term that means deer nest. Several fawns have been born over the past years in the narrow nook between this house and its east fence line. Their mom, “Peaches” is very sweet and can be seen regularly; neighbors actually pet her. But, of course, we cannot recommend petting darling Peaches as she is, after all, a wild animal.
Teheya Noppoi has everything you need for a cozy, inviting stay in Cody and great access to adventures around the area. The house is only a couple years old with modern amenities, high ceilings, and an open contemporary design that provides guests with a comfort and function level and aesthetic draw not typical in the area.
Beds and bedding are all very comfortable with strict attention to cleanliness. The same can be said for the bathrooms including the large walk-in shower.
The kitchen has everything you need to create fabulous meals (see list of amenities) accompanied by a modern set of appliances with gas stove.
The back patio is private and quiet and all set for an enjoyable bbq.
From Teheya Noppoi, it’s a two-minute drive along Sheridan Avenue to downtown Cody. If you want to walk, it’s about thirty minutes. Bicycles get there in five. Cody is a very fun town but it's not all honky-tonkin' and rodeos. The museums are world-class and really deserve a visit. And the restaurant scene is surprisingly varied and excellent for such a small town. If you like pizza, the Millstone is hard to beat. But if you want one delivered to the house, call Tossers. So good. Or for more traditional cowboy fare, get a delicious ribeye at Cody Steak House.
Typically, most folks come to Cody as a staging area to visit Yellowstone National Park, truly a natural wonder of the world. Teheya Noppoi is about a one hour drive (53 miles) into the Park. But if you can make time, don't forget to check out the awe inspiring Chief Joseph Highway on your way to fabled Cooke City, Montana.
And for the more adventurous sort looking for a day excursion in the immediate Cody area, take an 8 mile round-trip hike up stunning Heart Mountain, or experience the biggest secret in the Big Horn Basin: mountain biking the challenging but barely ridden Outlaw trails. It's like Fruita 25 years ago. Super technical and very grippy.
Whatever your pleasure, Teheya Noppoi will serve as a welcoming home to return to!
If there’s anything you need or would like more information on, please don’t hesitate to call or text. We'd be happy to hear from you and will get right back to you. Enjoy the Deer’s Nest!
