We were in town for a family reunion on Fish Hook Lake, so the location was great! HWY 71 was a little loud in the evening as we were trying to get to bed with the windows open, but we managed. The owner had a great communication and was accommodating to our schedule. Very clean and everything we needed was there!

I have been a superhost myself for over 5 years on another platform & have used vacation rental platforms for longer than that & this is the first time there have been enough issues for me to write a somewhat negative review. This info was provided to the host prior to this review & she was unwilling to provide any type of compensation & also taking her housekeepers word over ours although we are the ones who were there staying & have several pictures of cleanliness issues. We spent very little time at the home, mainly to sleep and bath, and those areas were the biggest issues. Bedding in one room appeared dirty (dingy/stained) but fortunately smelled fine. The 2nd bedroom was a different situation as the bedding not only appeared dirty but smelled dirty and our friends staying in that room had to put towels down to sleep on. The towels were also stained and in the bathroom shower there was a used washcloth, loofah and razor. The host relies on guests to wash dishes and we found several of the dishes dirty with food stuck to them on both plates and forks. There were some other issues but I’m not going to go into further detail but feel these are necessary to share for future guests. Ratings are a way of building a vacation rental business and I believe the host is new to this and providing a 3 star review because the property was as listed, just not clean. I’m not here to hurt a growing business but do feel it’s necessary for future guests know of potential issues.

My boyfriend, mother, and I stayed in Alyssa's home for a 5 night stay in October. The home is decorated very cute with positive, motivational quotes and is very tidy (which we appreciated)! The heat worked well which was fantastic because it got a bit chilly at night. The lake is nearby, across the highway, which was nice for morning jogs.
A consideration for any future guests is the home is close to the main highway, so people staying in one of the bedrooms will likely hear truck noise at night. Additionally, the home appears to be lived-in (vs a full-time rental) which was totally fine with us but there isn't anywhere to hang clothing or put clothing in drawers. The vibe is more like the original home sharing platform vs the properties that are always rented out and have a set of newer linens, towels, dishware, etc. There is also no dishwasher - but again, not a deal breaker for our group. Thanks for sharing your home with us, Alyssa!
