About this house rental
** No hidden fees** The Coastal Retreat is an eco-luxury hideaway. Architecturally designed, positioned on nearly 2 acres of gardens designed to maximise privacy and views. Set high on the ridge above Raglan with uninterrupted sweeping harbour, ocean and rural views through large floor to ceiling windows. 4kms to town, 15mins from world class surf breaks and numerous incredible beaches. The space An eco-luxury hide-away, the home has Passive Solar heating, achieved with superior insulation; concrete floors in the main hub; and a north facing aspect. It additionally has solar panels & freshly harvested rainwater, UV filtered ready to drink from the tap. In the winter, if you are up before the sun rises, the wood burner heats the house in 30 minutes and with help from the central air ducting the warmth from the fire is then shared in the bedrooms. Luxuriously appointed, the style is industrial minimalist. Natural wool and linen textures meet concrete floors and custom birch wood ply kitchen cabinetry. The open plan kitchen, dining & living form the central hub. At either end of the house are 2 master bedrooms with king size beds with ensuites and a third bedroom with a queen size bed. Alternatively the second master king size bed can be split into twin beds. All linens are included. Expect to walk in the door and feel instantly relaxed. The location is approximately 5 minutes from the Main Street of Raglan, 12 minutes to Raglan's beaches, 15 minutes from the famous surf points. In the other direction, 10 minutes from Bridal veil falls and 15 minutes to (the lesser known) Ruapuke Beach. The Coastal Retreat sits in the centre of all Raglans best attractions and only 1hr 45 from the Auckland Airport or 35 minutes from the Hamilton airport. Guest access Check-in and check-out is contactless. There are two locked cupboards in the garage with our personal effects. Otherwise the house is yours to use. Other things to note No parties, additional guests or pets. There is a cat (Tahuna) who comes with the house. His role is to control pests. We will leave food for him, if you could see his needs are met, we would be very grateful. There are also chickens who can be looked after by the neighbour. If you would prefer to feed and collect the eggs yourselves, please mention this at the time of booking.
