About this house rental
Chill at White Island Pond. Enjoy everything you like about the Cape without having to cross the bridge, and everything you like about the beach without the sharks! Our unfancy, comfortable family home is steps from a sandy lake beach, has a big deck and BBQ, a fire pit, plenty of room for your family, air conditioned bedrooms, kayak and paddle board. It's an older house with a modern kitchen, 4 BR including a room with 2 twin beds for the kids.
You will bring your own linens and towels. We have blankets, pillows, & comforters.
Downstairs is the living room with picture windows that look out on the lake. There's also a small TV/game room, a kitchen with oven/stove/microwave/coffeemaker/fridge and dining table, a half bathroom, and a bedroom that can sleep 4 (twin over full with trundle.) The upstairs features 3 more bedrooms (2 queens, 1 bunk bed) with A/C and a full bathroom with tub and shower.
The house is right across the road from the private White Island Pond Association beach and the Association building. Often there is fun stuff happening on weekends, such as cornhole or a pig roast, so feel free to wander over and introduce yourself. DO expect to be asked to show your beach tags - our beach is so nice that lots of people like to use it, but it's private and beach tags are required (you will definitely be asked!) Also, it's super important to follow all Association rules, which are listed in the guest book and are also posted, particularly no dogs or food/drink on the beach.
You will be a very short drive from Dunkin Donuts (of course) and a slightly longer drive from Onset Beach, where you can swim in the ocean and find all the beach town things like ice cream and pizza. If you want to head to the Cape you just need to cross the bridge - we're about 30 minutes from Falmouth and a bit less to Sandwich or Woods Hole (where you can get a ferry to Martha's Vineyard if you want). There's also mini golf, Water Wizz waterpark, lobster restaurants, etc all a short drive. If you need something at Target or the grocery store we usually go to the one on Cranberry Highway, 15 minutes drive.
