----------
This authentic Montana log cabin dates back to the early 1900s! The period homesteader cabin built from Tamarack timbers was originally located deep in the Rattlesnake Wilderness, and it was moved to this site in the early 1930s. The owners spent nearly a year fully renovating the cabin in 2022-2023 with significant attention to detail. The cabin's finish quality is top notch, and the owners care about offering an excellent guest experience.
The views from the cabin are splendid, offering a close-range mountain vista with west facing decks and windows to enjoy sunset colors in the sky. The cabin is set next to a small babbling creek, and is surrounded by a beautiful Montana pine and fir forest.
The one-level cabin features 2 bedrooms, an inviting open-concept living room with gas fireplace, dining area, and abundant natural light. Prepare meals in the fully stocked cooks' kitchen with ample counter space and cabinet storage. Both queen bedrooms feature clean and comfortable linens and mattresses, HVAC mini splits, reclaimed blue pine walls, and inspiring natural light to greet the day. The luxurious bathroom offers a spacious walk-in shower with a teak bench, along with a stackable washer and dryer, plus a wall mounted St Tropez toilet. Relax on the back deck overlooking the view and private grounds, or escape to the lower deck to relax in the 5 person hot tub.
For entertainment, the home features hard wired internet service, plus a swivel-mounted Smart TV in the living room. Board games and interesting coffee table books are also provided for guests to enjoy.
During the warmer months, the cabin stays perfectly cool with cross breezes and A/C from mini splits. During the colder months, the well-insulated cabin has a delightful sense of hygge from the gas fireplace and multiple heaters.

The cabin was thoughtfully furnished, with a great deal of attention to every detail (even a meat thermometer to check that steak!) The cabin stayed very cool - the mini units were awesome.
I have been to Missoula many times, but never stayed this far up in the Rattlesnake. It’s a great location to hike, bike, trail run, etc. in the Rattlesnake recreation area. It gave me a new appreciation for the area, A 15 minute drive to town, but so quiet and peaceful.

Loved the location of the cabin. It was close to multiple hiking trails. The cabin was also far enough away that if felt secluded. However, it was close to the city. The property owner was very helpful.

We traveled from Pennsylvania to this cozy cabin and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience at this cabin. We were in town to tour the University of Montana with our son and we were looking for something close enough to town, but remote enough to get away from it all and this cabin was both! The cabin is clean and everything about our stay was comfortable. Communication with the host was remarkable when I forgot to access the check in information that was sent to me ahead of time. I so appreciate their quick response to my question on that!
We enjoyed a nice walk at the nearby Rattlesnake Rec area and also enjoyed the hot tub each morning, while listening to the turkeys off in the distance.
Thank you for the perfect spot. If my son decides to attend the university, then we have found our home away from home when we visit him.

This property provided the clean, relaxing privacy that we desired while keeping us close to town. The home has been very tastefully remodeled, keeping some of the original rustic charm and alure of the 100-year-old cabin, while also providing ample high-end updated amenities and appliances. Outside, the hot tub was wonderful to sit in while watching the resident turkeys and listening to the wind through the trees, plus the propane grill was great for grilling steaks and burgers. Inside, the beds and bedding provided wonderful rest while the stocked modern kitchen and bathroom made us feel like we were home while away from home. The indoor gas stove also provided a warm and comfortable space for an evening watching the smart TV or hanging out on the couch or rocking chair. Only once did we have any questions and were able to get immediate cordial response from the owners. We were very satisfied with our stay and will look to book it again in the future if we need another stay in the Missoula area.

We loved this property and have plans on returning! It was beautifully situated close to Missoula but also close to the amazing trailheads, which were walking distance. There was much consideration in the design of the property, where we got the cabin feel with luxury items. We loved the indoor fireplace, hottub and fire pit. In addition, the property had great amenities such as the comfortable bedding, Nespresso machine, robes, shampoos and conditioners. There was a great little market within a 5 min. drive that offered great food if you didn't feel like cooking or needed a few essentials. We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this property and plan on returning!

This beautiful cabin, in the mountains of Montana, is truly a must stay. The inside is clean, well organized, stocked with everything you need.
(Not to mention the awesom lighting and fire place for those romantic moments.)
The hot tub is very luxurious and close to the door for those winter soaks. Best of all the staff are very committed to making your stay as comfortable, private and quiet as possible.
My wife and I recommend this cabin to everyone who wants to enjoy a nice quiet stay in a very cozy cabin!!!
