CONSTRUCTION SPECIAL PRICE! The Bridgeport condos #201-207 are planned for outside construction including no patio access to replace the railings and flooring and placing blue plastic across all beach-view windows obscuring the views to protect the windows from damage. The time frame is planned now to mid-December if everything goes smoothly. Prices have been adjusted during these times due to this important renovation.

Some people even get married at the beach area and stay in the home with family! Common sites along the beach areas include Sea Turtle nests and bird nesting sanctuaries during special times of the year.
“Anna Maria Island’s Hot Spot” is now Historic Bridge Street on Bradenton Beach, the southernmost city of Anna Maria Island. Bridge Street, where the original wooden bridge was the only means of access to the island, where a beautiful fishing pier is in its place today, leading to an active street where you can Shop~Dine~Play from beach to bay. Bridge Street offers a walkable community with spectacular water views from the both the pier and the gulf beach and only a couple blocks from Beach + Gulf View Retreat.
The Beach + Gulf View Retreat offers everything you need for your beach stay! Just bring your food, clothing and toiletries. Beach chairs, beach umbrella, and beach toys for the kids are available in our garage level storage room including beach chairs and toys. In less than 2 minutes, you will be spending your day on the beach, or venture out a bit further and hang out fishing in one of the many great spots nearby. Sightings along the Gulf of Mexico beach and inter-coastal waterway include Manatees, Rays, Dolphins, many kinds of fish, a wide variety of birds, and other amazing creatures. Common sights along the beach areas include Sea Turtle nests and bird nesting sanctuaries during special times of the year. Once in a while, you’ll come across a Gulf-side wedding!
While some prefer the isolation of the nearby beaches, others opt toward more people at the public beaches. If that is your desire, venture to Coquina Beach at the south end of Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria Island, or Manatee County Beach at the west end of Manatee Avenue in Holmes Beach, or Anna Maria Pier at the east end of Pine Avenue for the intercoastal/Tampa Bay access. Anna Maria Pier is a special place where many times you can see fish, rays, dolphins, and manatees swimming underneath you as well as fish from the dock and have a nice meal or an ice cream cone at Two Scoops Ice Cream Shop. (The Pier is currently under repair, Winter 2017.)
If you're in the mood to tour around the rest of the island, catch the free trolley around the corner and it will take you to any of the beaches, restaurants, shops or grocery stores along Gulf Drive anywhere on Anna Maria Island. Take the trolley to the old historic Bridge Street area of Bradenton Beach to enjoy the Key West style restaurants and shops. If you enjoy painting or photography, the sunsets are among the best in the world.
Enjoy live music nightly and dinner at Manatee Public. By timing it right (usually 7 pm), you can enjoy sea creature (fish, eel, and shark) feeding by the owner while enjoying Ice Cream at Holy Cow Ice Cream.
A lovely sunrise can be enjoyed along the Coquina Baywalk. Bean Point and Coquina Beach are great beaches to visit along with Sunset Park next to our home.
Just across the Cortez bridge on the south side of the island, is the old school Florida fishing village of Cortez, where restaurants have excellent seafood and some have live music. Swordfish Grill is our favorite on the dock.
We have 3 favorites for breakfasts: 1) Rod & Reel Pier, 2) Ginny's & Jane E's, and 3) The Donut Experiment (fun for the kids but not completely filling).
Eco tours and on the Gulf and Intercoastal via boats, kayaks and jet skis are always nice. The Ringling Museum in Sarasota is great.
The Regina is a sugar barge that sunk just off our beach during a storm in 1940. It is in about 20 feet of water just 150 feet or so off the beach. It is marked with a buoy. The Regina is 10th Florida Shipwreck Underwater Archaeological Preserve.
There is a small reef of rocks about 150 feet northwest from the Sunset Park Beach directly west of our home. I like to swim out to it and then dive down 8-10 feet to see colorful fish like the striped Sheepshead, etc.
Our kids love going to the Bridge Street Pier or taking the free trolley just outside the door up to Anna Maria Pier and looking for fish in the water (especially in the morning to early afternoon when you can see well through the clear water), talking to the fisherman, and eating at the restaurant or getting ice cream at Two Scoops. The Blueberry Pie ice cream is my favorite... The Trolley stops every 20 minutes from about 6 am to 10 pm.
Come enjoy the unbelievable location of the Beach View Retreat near corner of Gulf & Cortez!
The whole home is yours. You will have a great time including sitting on the covered patio listening to the waves of the Gulf of Mexico lapping up on the beach.
The best way to find our home is through your GPS system or an online map system. The address of the home is:
Beach View Retreat
501 Gulf Drive North
Suite 207
Bradenton Beach, FL 34217
Park in the marked space to the right of the elevator to the stairwell attached to the west building side closest to the beach and Gulf Drive.
Walk up stairs or take the elevator to the top floor to Suite 207 in the southwest corner of the building.
There are two main bridges across from the mainland to Anna Maria Island. Cortez Bridge is on Cortez Rd right next to the home. Manatee Avenue is the other bridge but two miles north of the home so once you get across the bridge, turn left = south on Gulf Drive to 501 Gulf Drive North at the corner of Cortez Rd. As most key islands in southwest Florida, the island is very narrow east to west so the main road going north to south is Gulf Dr.
Please use only 2 parking spaces. One dedicated parking space for Suite 207 on the west side of the building next to Gulf Drive. There may be one other parking space with the parking hanger near the swimming pool. For that space, only park in a space that is NOT marked with a designated number, which are committed to that home owner. Remember that the second space is "First Come, First Serve." Thanks!!
If you're in the mood to tour around the rest of the island, catch the free trolley around the corner and it will take you to any of the beaches, restaurants, shops or grocery stores along Gulf Drive most anywhere on Anna Maria Island all the way from Coquina Beach at the south end to Pine Avenue and Anna Maria Pier at the north end. Take the trolley one stop down (or stroll along the beach the one mile) to the old historic Bridge Street area of Bradenton Beach to enjoy the Key West style restaurants and shops. If you enjoy painting or photography, the sunsets are among the best in the world.

Property was right across street from beach that was never crowded.. many restaurants nearby.beds very comfy. Condo very large and room for all. Will visit again

The home was clean, neat, and organized. The kitchen was well stocked. The bathrooms could use a few more washcloths. The master bedroom was warmer than the rest of the condo, but we found a fan in a closet.
The unit was advertised as a 3 bedroom condo and I though that was what I rented, but when I got the confirmation printout, it said 2 bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the family room (which was the living room). That was upsetting because we needed 3. One adult was cheated out of a private sleeping area and had no closet. And a 2 bedroom condo usually costs less. I did email the owner and got no response but maybe it was the type of mailbox that is not monitored for incoming mail. Maybe I should have called him instead. We made do with the situation and still had fun.
It is a good location but is right next to Cortez - a main entry to the island - there was a lot of traffic. You have to cross Gulf Dr to get to the beach and Gulf Drive is a busy street, but people are usually courteous and let you cross in front of them. There was maintenence /repair going on in/around other units in the building so there was quiet a bit of noise in the area. These things were annoyances, but not a game-changer. The area has many attractions and things to do close by. The Wicked Cantina and Green Turtle Gift Shop are just a short walk away, the beach is across the street.
The owner has a storage area that has beach items, chairs, even a wagon‐this is a great, cost saving convenience

We loved it so much, we're already planning to go back next year! This condo is HUGE and is the best-equipped place we have stayed. There is so much attention to detail; everything you need is available and the property is beautiful. You can tell that the owners have thought of anything and everything you'll need to have a fabulous beach vacation. FIVE STARS all around! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great condo, perfect location, had everything we needed!

Very clean, great location, had everything we needed, close to beach couldn’t ask for a better place to stay, we had a very relaxing, peaceful, much needed vacation!
4.8
The condo was very nice . Location was excellent, close to everything. The only negative is that this condo is on a very busy intersection . It was very noisy if you wanted to sit outside on the deck and enjoy the ocean and the view .
4.8
Well-stocked huge kitchen; new very large fridge and dishwasher. Every small apppliance one could ever want. Well-equipped ensuite bathroom but separate toilet room very old fashioned; same in 2nd bathroom with combination tub/shower and toilet in separate room. The plungers did not work in any of the 3 bathroom sinks. The owner was notified, a repairman was sent but nothing was fixed while we were there.
The apartment is located on the corner of the busiest intersection on the island and is very noisy except between 2AM - 6AM. Never used either balcony because of the roar of traffic. The whole building is old and rundown. However, the pool is very large and well-maintained. The building is central to dining and activities which is a plus.

Great location and roomy condo. Rex is very communicative and AMI never disappoints.

The Bradenton Beach condo is in a great location. The beach is directly across the street with nothing blocking your view. Great restaurants and shops are a short walk away. The condo is clean and stocked with the basics. Even though it is on a busy corner there is no night traffic noise. We would definitely stay here again.

My parents, niece, and I had an AMAZING week at this fantastic location! The condo was very spacious and we loved that there was a wagon, beach chairs, umbrellas, pails and shovels for use. The pool was a great option for mornings with my niece before the beach. The pool water was very comfortable (temperature). We had all the utensils, pots, and pans we needed-however we went out to eat nearly every day. Keeping the shades closed during the day in the bedrooms helped cool it down. The toilet in the second bedroom (queen) was very sluggish-otherwise no complaints at all. Check in and out process was easy. Loved that there were hoses in the garage area to rinse sand off after the beach. The washer and dryer was VERY handy. The location was great-right in between the Kokonut Hut and The Beachhouse restaurant. Short walk (7 minutes) to Bridge Street for shopping. We would recommend this condo to all family and friends. We were especially grateful to Rex who was so accommodating in rebooking us after a situation out of our control changed our travel plans-THANK YOU!!

Beautiful view from the patio. So glad new windows were installed because the street noise is very loud.

The condo was very clean and centrally located. Written exchange with owner was immediate. Restaurants and the trolley are just a view blocks away. And southbound can drop off right in front of the condo. My sister and I had a fantastic time on the island. When we come back, we both agreed this would be our choice again.

My husband and I had a great time!!!! AMI was absolutely beautiful and the location of the condo was perfect!!!! Easy access to the beach!!!! The condo was clean, the bed was comfortable, the couches were perfect, and the balcony was perfect to have breakfast on or enjoy a late afternoon during a light rain storm! Already trying to figure out our next trip!!!!

Very convenient to restaurants and beach! Beautiful views from condo. Very roomy condo! Great communication with owner/manager.

This is a very nice property, communication with owner is easy through VRBO. Beautiful view of the gulf and the daily sunsets are breathtaking. Spacious accomodations, with a few extra items such as pool (not too many have this) and beach toys are a nice addition.

View from the balcony is beautiful. New windows and doors greatly reduced outside noise. Walking distance to several restaurants and free trolly and trolly stop just down the street. Host was easy to contact and house cleaner did a great job.

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at beach and gulf view retreat! The condo was spacious and well equipped. My favorite part about the condo was the lanai and view. I spent every morning and evening sitting out there. I did like the location of the condo even though it was on a busy corner and noisy. The people watching was great and I knew we weren’t bothering anyone if my kids got a little loud. I loved that the beach was right across the road and easy to get to. It was nice that the condo had beach toys, chairs, cooler and a wagon. I also enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants, the fishing pier and shopping. The host was very easy to get a hold of and responsive with our questions. Overall it was a great stay!

We have stayed on AMI many times, and the location of this property is the best! Views of the Gulf and InterCoastal, as well as the proximity to the beach and Bradenton Beach restaurants make this an ideal location. However, there is a trade-off: Since the condo is located at the busy intersection of Cortez and Gulf Drives, it is very loud. Traffic noise often woke us until around 1am. Then the loud trucks would start revving again at around 6 am. We recommend earplugs if you stay here during a busy time of the year.

The condo was all that was advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The landlord was extremely responsive, the trustworthy contractors did an excellent job and the home was clean and bright. We loved the bedrooms located on each side for privacy. The only reason for the 4 stars was the location. The lanai was great and the sunsets couldn't be matched but there was the noise issue. That being said, I looked at many balconies on condos while walking. Most are not private while this one was. Trade offs!

My family and I enjoyed our 1 night stay and we spent most of our time on the patio overlooking the beach. It’s a great spot to watch the sunset! We loved how it had a split floor plan with the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms and were surprised at how large the condo was. The only thing I wish was better was the smaller bedroom’s noise level from the intersection, however that is out of their control.

We enjoyed our stay in this location friendly and spacious condo. There is some noise from traffic but other than that it’s great.

Spacious unit, well equipped kitchen. A bit dated furniture. Street noise.

Unfortunately, we were supposed to check in the day Hurricane Eta was arriving. We called the owners and asked about safety of the condo and parking since it was just across the street from the Gulf. I got the impression the owner was far away from the condo, so he had to rely on the cleaning staff for information. Having just gone thru Hurricane Sally, we decided it was probably best to not check into the condo as we did not want our vehicle flooded, nor did we want to be without electricity for an extended period of time. We stayed at a hotel about 20 miles away, but inland. So thankful we did that because when we arrived at the condo the next day, we found the assigned parking spot under about 6-8 inches of water and for 2 days we had to park a distance away from our unit. We also found the electricity had been out, but we were not sure for how long.
The floors were dirty as evidenced by socks, and the bathroom rugs were disgusting. We washed those and were grateful for the washer and dryer. We also happened to see the blower filter for the AC unit was filthy and as a high risk person for respiratory infections (let alone COVID-19), we purchased a new filter and replaced it. I get the impression that some of the maintenance the owner had scheduled was not actually being performed.
AC worked, but we had trouble getting cool air to the master bedroom area. Thankful we had taken our own fan, and we found a brand new portable water cooler in the closet that we hooked up.
The condo had more than sufficient dishes and kitchen appliances. The kitchen is huge. It also has a full-size washer and dryer that was very handy. Plenty of towels, wash rags, and beach towels.
The street noise was more than we expected, but we just dealt with it. Beautiful views.
