Parking is inside the garage and there is space for one car across the garage entrance. Further parking if needed can be advised on booking.
Outside tap is located on the dune side of the house (ie at the back) and has one short lead to hose sandy paws and feet and a further long hose which is fed to the front garden. There is a small bistro style seating set here too.

This was our first visit to the Norfolk coast and was chosen for its proximity to the sand dunes and sea. We were also holidaying with our son and his Labrador so it made perfect sense to choose a place that welcomes dogs so that we could all relax and enjoy ourselves.
We loved the quiet location, the old fashioned atmosphere of the village but were impressed that everything was available within a five minute walk. We could have left our car at home if there had been a station nearby.
We were blessed with wonderful weather and my son was delighted to find a seal bobbing alongside him while he was swimming.
There was always space on the sandy beach for humans and energetic dogs.
We had very helpful contact with Caroline the owner and would like to thank her for sharing her beautiful cottage with us.

Really enjoyed our stay, the host had thought of everything and the home was packed full of useful surprises. Suitable for children and most dogs.
Our dogs did struggle a little with the proximity of the neighbours and neigbouring doggy noises. That was more of an oversight of mine as opposed to the hosts however. The host had thought of everything for dogs inside of the property however and the dogs did mostly enjoy their stay. 10 minute walk to the beach, 1 minute to the Dunes. Lovely little village with a nice little pub, very good fish and chip shop and cafe. Will definitely visit Winterton again.

We've just come back from an amazing stay in Jack's Shack! It's such a lovely cottage - it backs onto the dunes, and is just a few minutes walk from a beautiful beach. No roads to cross to get to the sea!! The Cottage has absolutely everything you need - nothing has been overlooked - and it's so dog-friendly which made our stay very relaxing! It's very comfortable, with a nautical theme throughout, and it has a lovely little sun room from which to enjoy the gorgeous, fully enclosed garden (which is prettily lit-up on a night). On arrival, we were greeted with a very nice welcome pack, and there was even one for our pup too! The Cottage is down a quiet lane, so no passing traffic, and it's very peaceful and tranquil. Use of the garage for the car was an added bonus.
An extremely well-equipped, dog-friendly cottage. We would highly recommend, and we'd love to return!! Caroline was a very helpful and responsive host.

We have used East Ruston Cottages previously and we're so impressed with their dog friendly approach. We decided to try somewhere new this time, a new accomodation called Jacks Shack.
The location is absolutely fantastic super close to the beach and local amenities. The cottage itself is perfect spacious, clean and has literally everything we needed for our dog and baby.
What really made a difference to me was the host. Caroline almost feels like a friend to me now. Shes so warm, helpful and understanding. Her welcome goodies and things she had for us to use was the best we have ever seen. We are looking already to book again for next year.
Thank you for allowing us to make so many fun memories on our first trip with the new baby too!

We were the first booking for Jack’s Shack through ERC and I can honestly say we had the very best time. The cottage was completely perfect for us, and so beautifully appointed. We were lucky to have amazing weather but we would have been happy either way. The owner went out of her way to make our stay so wonderful, with excellent comms and lovely welcome packs for us and the dogs. It’s spotlessly clean and very cleverly set up, as is the garden. Fully enclosed and designed so well for day or evening. The little sunroom was lovely for coffee and reading in the mornings. The end of the garden was a suntrap for a quiet spot of sunbathing. It’s also well enclosed for the dogs. But the best bit has to be the location - step outside and you are right on the dunes, then on to the beach. Incredibly special. I could hear the sea from the bedroom at night. The only down side was leaving at the end, but we will be back, as soon as we possibly can. We absolutely loved it!

We stayed for a long weekend with our dog and had a great time.
Jack’s Shack is great for humans and dogs alike with lots of thoughtful touches including dog blankets, towels, beds, bowls, ‘holiday’ tags and a nice welcome pack for us.
Very spacious bedroom, well appointed kitchen, good sized dining room and a lovely suntrap sunroom.
One of the highlights is that the back garden is essentially the start of the dunes.
Highly recommended.

Superb accommodation that is super dog friendly and the owners seem to have thought of everything.
Immediate access to the sand dunes and down to the shore from the property, so the car stays firmly parked the whole stay.
Everything you could wish for in a pet friendly accommodation. Fabulous!

Jack's Shack, Winterton-On-Sea.
We booked this for two people and two dogs quite last minute, just wanting a nice base with access to walking the dogs. We were not disappointed. On arrival there was a beautiful welcome pack for us and the dogs which was very much appreciated. Jack's Shack is a gorgeous two bed terraced cottage that backs directly onto the sand dunes. Good sized rooms, kitchen is extremely well equipped with every utensil, pot, pan, crockery, cutlery you'll need. If this kitchen doesn't have what you need then you don't really need it! More than enough crockery for us to not wash up all week and keep loading the dishwasher. Utility room well equipped for all your doggy needs, food/water bowls, dog mats/rugs, dog leads, etc. You could literally turn up with your fave dog without anything but food of choice. We have a 16 week old puppy with us, so East Ruston Cottages provided us with a dog crate and doggy pushchair, which was invaluable for the little ones' tired legs. There is a nice size dining room where 6 people can comfortably be seated for meals (We ate out, you're on holiday!!) A separate living room and a small sun room on the back leading to a gorgeous enclosed paved garden. Two large double bedrooms upstairs and a modern shower/toilet room off the kitchen downstairs. The location is fabulous, 20 paces from the back door, and you're lost in the miles of dunes running along the Norfolk coastal path. The cottage is, without doubt, the best equipped accommodation we have ever stayed in. The owner has tried to cover every possible holiday scenario. Board games, puzzle/colouring books for kids, bags for picnics, fold up chairs, kids surf boards and a kayak for those water lovers, torches for late night walks with dogs, blankets for people, throws for dogs, all manner of cleaning equipment. You honestly do not really need to bring anything apart from your pets and some comfy walking shoes. It has it all. We absolutely loved the cottage, the location, and surrounding areas. Lots of great places to eat, our fave was The Boathouse pub, B&B, and you must try The Dunes Cafe at Waxham, best cakes and coffee. Cannot wait to go back next year and will look out for last-minute weekender trips in the meantime. Thank you very much to the owner for being so pleasant and helpful, always available for any questions and for allowing us to stay. We will talk again.

We booked Jack's Shack as a 'last minute' break and we certainly weren't disappointed. It's a lovely little cottage only footsteps (literally) away from the dunes at Winterton, so a perfect location for both humans and dogs. The cottage it one of the best appointed and provisioned holiday cottages we've stayed in. The owners have thought of everything two-legged and four-legged guests could need including a lovely welcome basket of goodies. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to returning there one day.

What can I say about this place. It was absolutely perfect. The cottage was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything you could wish for. The added extras and the welcome packs were amazing.
The location was wonderful, straight into the sand dunes and then onto beach in seconds. Cute village with all the amenities you could want.
The owners really helpful and lovely.
Couldn't of wished for more really. Thank you Jack's Shack we had an amazing holiday ❤️❤️

Jacks Shack is a clean, comfortable well stocked home for the week. The cottage is fantastic for dog owners, but would be good for non dog people as well. …..straight out of the back door onto miles of walks along the dunes and the beach!
The village was quiet while we were there in late March, but it’s not too far if you need to drive for more supplies in case the village store doesn’t have what you need (although they stock all the essentials). Poppys cafe does one of the best cooked breakfasts we’ve ever had and Winterton fish and chip shop was also of a really high standard.
Just to mention the dog friendliness of the cottage again though, as we’ve been to quite a few in our time and never have they been stocked so well with doggie essentials……beds, bowls, throws, towels, welcome treats (for humans and canines), I could go on!

Our first time at Jack’s Shack did not disappoint. It met all the gold standards that we have so far experienced when booking through East Ruston Cottages - very clean, very comfortable, welcoming, everything you need and more provided for both humans and dogs. Could easily have turned up with just a suitcase, ourselves and the dogs and nothing more.
Excellent location for village amenities and beach walks. Is definitely on our return list. Blown away by the provision of so many doggy items that we never knew we needed!

Wonderful to be back at Jack's Shack! A lovely, cosy cottage in a great location (right on the dunes) with everything humans and dogs might need for short or long breaks in this beautiful part of the Norfolk coast. The welcome basket has some tasty treats to get the holiday off to a great start and there are plenty of dog beds, bowls, toys and treats to please four-legged guests too. It is undoubtedly the best provisioned holiday cottage we've stayed in.
Winterton has a great Fish & Chip shop and Poppy's Tea Room and the Seal View Cafe (right on the dunes) are perfect stops for coffee and lunch.
We hope to be back very soon.

We stayed at jacks shack and was more than happy. We was welcomed with lots of treats, wine cheese crisps etc.
There was also every toiletry you could need.
The house was beautiful with a log burner which was lovely as we went in February so was used every night.
There is a lovely dog friendly pub within walking distance and the most beautiful beach on the doorstep.
I would definitely go again, thank you x
