About this house rental
Our lovely rammed earth scenic hideaway is tucked into the Strathbogie ranges.
Our pavilion style house comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests on 30 acres of gorgeous country side adjoining the Strathbogie ranges. Serenity!
The space
Our property consists of a series of rammed earth pavilons that are connected by undercover walkways and covered in beautiful white roses. There is a view out every window and in every direction you look.
The main area consists of lounge, dining, kitchen and laundry. The second pavilion consists of two bedrooms, lounge and bathroom. The third is two bedrooms and a bathroom. This is perfect for groups of two or three families when everyone wants a bit of their own space.
We have expansive lawns - great for a game of cricket or kicking around the football with the kids plus netball ring and soccer posts.
The property is nestled alongside the Strathbogie ranges below the Wild dog rocks (where Ned Kelly hid out) . There are beautiful views of the surrounding bush every which way you look. Perfect for bush walks, having a picnic, or bring your boat, bike, motor bike or 4 wheel drive and explore the 60,000 hectares that makes up the forest.
We are a 20 minute drive to Mansfield for a stroll around the shops or a cafe visit and 10 mins to the Bonnie doon pub and town.
We are an easy 1 hour drive to Mt Buller and Mt Strathbogie. We are 10 min to Lake Eildon and Lake Nillahcootie. Both excellent for all water sports.
The property is a green energy property - solar power and tank water. Please turn off lights and use water in a respectful manner. Heating is via two log heaters (wood is provided) - one in pavilion 1 and one in pavilion 2.
Hydronic wall heating is in all bedrooms and bathrooms. Do not plug in any other heating options as this will immediately drain the power.
We have an outdoor fire pit and also BBQ and outdoor seating options.
Make sure the fire is put out after use.
We regularly have a large population of birds, kangaroos and wombats on the property so great for night time animal spotting.
Plus lying on the grass with a cheese platter and a glass of wine star gazing at the milky way and southern cross - cannot be beaten.
If you are looking for some peace and serenity this is the spot for you!
