About this cabin rental
If you like camping you may like the stables. The old Stables of the hostoric Courthouse is a basic, rustic, and budget studio apartment.
There are large windows, which give the studio a light filled glow, the room is sparsely furnished with a comfortable queen bed (foam mattress available for the floor if requested), 2x2 seater couches, and a very basic kitchen (induction cooker, electric frypan, BBQ, fridge).
The bathroom is located outside through the old stable door, which can be hard to open. You need to be in full physical fitness to open and close this door.
The property is a 30 acre property over looking the town of St Albans, and the Macdonald River/valley. Often the Courthouse is booked for weekends so there may be other people staying on the property as well, however the houses are located far enough away from each other to be private.
There is no wifi or mobile reception in St Albans. Come and switch off for a while. Please be aware that this is only one step up from camping, as the price reflects! Please understand that the stables is simple, rustic, basic quirky accommodation, please dont expect 5 star accommodation.
There is a small fire pit located outside the Stables. Please BYO fire wood (can be bought cheaply from most service stations), and beach towels.
Some amazing local bush walks nearby, just ask.
Dinner or lunch at the Settlers Arms ia always a must. A great piece of Australian heritage, we also have a really lovely cafe called the Pickled Wombat in town. Please check with me or their websites for opening hours.
There are no shops in St Albans, please bring your staples. Kate and Rob are able to help with a food delivery if enough notice is provided.
Please please please don't book this if you are not prepared for a basic stable accommodation. it isn't perfect, it is old, it is not 5 star. I hate receiving complaints about there not being hand towels, or smaller than expected. It is basic.....
You will be in the country. You may have mosquitoes, you may see an animal. It’s all part of the experience.
